Bought! Thanks for bringing this to my attention; I look forward to reading it over the next few days!

Hope you enjoy it!

We are just past the 1/2 way mark to get the book at $1

Hey John, thanks for the compliments on the art/layout. We strive to make all our books visually appealing in those departments. We weren't able to include all the creatures we had dreamed up in the initial setting book, but expect to see support for the setting as either pdf or posted content on our recently launched website www.fatgoblingames.com - we will have an assortment of posts with snippets for the setting, and short 1-2 page free pdf's for the setting in the future.

Awesome discount! I can't say much of the product, yet, but I can say that I really look forward to delving into the new base classes, especially the Eldritch Conjuror looks promising, it has a real sword & sorcery feel to it.

I'll definitely write a review when I get a chance.

- Axel

Can't wait Axel! I like the Eldritch Conjuror as well. I think the base classes for the book are all really cool and we were very happy with how they turned out and how they came together for the book.

It was an ambitious attempt to create a full book in 24 hours that didn't work out as you planned, but I think this is a much better product. I picked up my copy and so far I like what I see. Of course I want look further in to it but so far I like what I see plus there are some monsters that I can use in my home campaign.

Thanks Louis, yeah it was ambitious- and we totally agree we are a lot happier with this final then we would of been with the 24 hour version. And the response we've gotten so far has been great. Enjoy those monsters :)

Shadows over Vathak

Shadows over Vathak is a full setting created as part of Fat Goblins 24 Hour RPG Project. The goal of the 24 Hour RPG Project was to create a full 96 page book in color for a setting that was determined by popular vote tallied at the start of the 24 hour launch. The 24 hour deadline was missed, but with the support of our fans, in the following weeks we poured our creativity and talent into this setting.

Shadows over Vathak is a dark fantasy, survival, lovecraftian setting full of eldritch horrors. In this book you will find 6 playable races, 4 new classes, detailed equipment, overview of the setting (including details on specific regions, cities, landmarks, etc.) and new creatures to throw at your players.

For the next 24 hours, you can download Shadows over Vathak for $1 - after that it goes back to it's full price!

CLASSifieds: Striker

The baron’s yearly feast was in full swing. A stage
set along the eastern wall sported an entire troop of
performers creating the lively tunes to which the
nobles of the kingdom danced. The food sat heaped
high on silver trays, enough to feed an entire village.
The king sat at the head of the massive table, goblet in
hand, in preparation of a toast. Amidst the noise and
celebration, the group of well-trained guards stood at
attention, all oblivious to the cloaked figure scaling
the outside walls. Like a shadow, still and silent, the
Striker slipped into the palace and waited. The baron,
his mark, would not live to see the rising sun.

Strikers are a select class of rogue who
specialize in the art of focused killing. These
individuals have the uncanny ability to move into
well-protected organizations, controlled territories,
and guarded strongholds undetected, all with the
intent of recovering stolen items (or some other
mission) typically assigned to them by their superiors.
Sometimes the Strikers are there because of personal
grudges or age-old vendettas against their people.
Some use their talents to become professional
thieves. Whatever their motivations, many that cross
these dangerous individuals never live to tell the
tales of their exploits.

Racial Ecologies: Guide to Minotaur

"We do not fear the labyrinth.
We fear what lies within it.”

There exists much speculation surrounding the ancient history of the minotaur. The
proud race of minotaurs have walked the lands for many thousands of years and,
with this race’s great strength, fortitude, and uncanny skills of survival, its likely
that they will remain for thousands more. Several records found throughout the
histories of various cultures include tales which attempt to explain the origins of the
minotaur, but as of yet scholars still have no clear understanding of how these creatures
came to exist within the world. These tales include myths of the minotaur as being
the true race created by the gods to display strength and honor to the race of humans.

Racial Ecologies: Guide to Minotaur is part of a new line of small supplements from Fat Goblin Games. Each one is richly detailed with info on racial histories, personality, physiology, and all the details for playing the race. Expect to see additional bonus material, such as racial options, equipment, npc's, adventure hooks and many more!

You can download a copy of the pdf as is from the event page on facebook. thanks.

Again, we followed the suggestions of the people who were actively discussing the event with us on facebook.

And to clear things up- $15-$20 donation would of been more then we received total in donations- and almost all people gave a $5. We were doing it for fun not money.

If anyone feels we were taking advantage of them, I'll send a copy of the pdf as is right now.

Sorry for not checking in over here, we had been giving updates over at facebook. We actually got very close to the goal, however, art and layout slowed a lot of the process down, which cost us the deadline. Most everyone over at facebook suggested we take the week off and start back up the next weekend, or stick with the high quality of production and slow things down a bit.

So, that's what happened. ShadowcatX, sorry for the obviously huge disappointment we caused you. The general opinion of the majority of people following the event was to take the route we did, sorry if you do not agree.

And before you make comments on the quality of our products and schedule, do you even own any of our books?

it's being worked on- it was a rough weekend with various personal conflicts, but we are eager to finish it up and have been keeping track of our hours.

AS soon as Jason gets here we'll be starting back up and finishing the book. We were about 85% near completion last night, we will finish today. It is awesome.

yeah, it's not going to happen, but it's almost done. new art and layout slowed us down too much. We wanted to keep the quality up through out. so, we are taking a forced break by our wives, and should be able to finish it up in a few hours tomorrow. Even though we missed the deadline, it proved tome it can be done- and wait till you see it.

We are still at it.

Thanks,we are also still taking suggestions for names.

Best line from the book so far- 'Vathek gnomes are disguised as human children.'

WE have till 11pm eastern.

Nope, not our first book. Artist/designer Rick Hershey has been working in the industry for over 10 years for just about everyone, from wotc,to green ronin, to open design. He also owns Empty Room Studios.

Jason Stoffa has been a DM for close to 15 years and has published books of various sizes through Empty Room Studios and Fat Goblin Games.

Anyways, things are moving along, updating all the time at Facebook. not too late to donate and get a copy!

And we are looking for a name! So give us your best titles for this fantasy horror setting1

only a few minutes left before we start, I'll post updates as we start the project, but it looks like a cthulhu/ravenloft type setting is going to win the votes.

Numeria topics have been trending a lot lately on Paizo. How about a Thundarr the Barbarian post-apocalypse type setting?

P.S. Looking forward to this, guys! :)

That would be awesome. I think a lot of people are going to be surprised at what we can put together and the quality.

Getting lots of suggestions on dark horror/cthulhu type setting.

Just to answer 2 quick questions.

1- paypal. You can support this product by donating to our paypal (fatgoblingames@gmail.com) any amount you donate, no matter how big or small will get you a pdf copy of the book.

The look and quality of the book (from a design/art perspective) will look much like our recent Racial Ecologies pdf's that have been in the top 10 at drivethru/rpgnow the last week or so.

2- If we get a large amount of donations we will be giving to charity. Most likely either the Crohn's foundation (Rick's wife suffers from the disease) or to a children's charity (as Rick and his wife also lost thir son this past thanksgiving.

It will be out this year, but it's going to need more then 24 hours.

Awesome, head over to Facebook and let us know on the event page as well. Super excited, going to be crazy.

Thursday night Fat Goblin Games will take on the challenge of creating a 96 page setting book for the Pathfinder Roleplaying game. with a team of one writer and one artist, they will challenge the odds and produce a complete setting, with classes, races, equipment, monsters, and a detailed description of the setting.

This will be a full color book and available for sale as a pdf upon completion. You, as a viewer will be able to see our periodic updates here as we work feverishly to produce the setting. But there is more!

In addition, to gear up for the event, we are asking you to choose the theme of the setting. This can be simply done by attending this event and before the event date posting what theme you would like to see. The night we launch the event we will choose the one with the most mentions. Now, when suggesting a theme, keep it simple. We want to see suggestions like jungle setting, horror setting, etc. No modern, just fantasy.

You can further support this event by donating ANY AMOUNT of money to the project through paypal. This money, whether a $1 or $5 will get you a free copy of the setting pdf the night the event ends. This money will go to fuel the creators in the challenge by providing pizza, energy drinks, and other essentials to rise to these monumental adventure. And if enough money is raised, the creators will choose a well deserving charity and donate the rest of the money for a good cause.

So, attend this event. Spread the word. Donate to the event. Choose a theme. Tune in as we create true awesomeness.

Racial Ecologies: Guide to Ratfolk

"It is an ugly thing to watch people poking sticks at a caged rat.
It is uglier still to watch rats poking spears at a caged person."

They can be found anywhere. Dwelling in the crumbling ruins of an ancient keep, the labyrinthine maze of a city sewer, and buildings long abandoned; this is where the Ratfolk call home. They reside beneath the earth in sprawling tunnels, waiting for the call of night. Waiting for the time to once again claim that which they believe to be rightful theirs....

Racial Ecologies: Guide to Ratfolk is a new line of small supplements from Fat Goblin Games. Each one is richly detailed with info on racial histories, personality, physiology, and all the details for playing the race. Expect to see additional bonus material, such as racial options, equipment, npc's, adventure hooks and many more!

Hey Dark Mistress. . . um, thanks? We are excited to see the book as well, and this new line will explore character races that have shown up in Pathfinder books before, along with new races down the line.

We might eventually sell on paizo, just not a big fan of how they pay out royalties (meaning waiting for a check).

Twin Dragons! Let us know how you like it!

“Thousands of years ago, cats were
worshipped as gods. Cats have never
forgotten this.”
