(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

I'm sorry, but Tazi will have to chase the big score in the city (that sounds dodgy now) this time.

Real life is a bit tough at the moment, so I can't take on a new game

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Yes, that will be awesome. Different load-outs!

Looking at a Thief or Ranger, just to add some Martial to the mix.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Forgive the presumption...

The Leaders:
Pat - halberd wielding goliath cleric (divine) (if I'm remembering right)
Detritus - sentinel druid (primal)

The Tanks
Peasant - elegant drow paladin (divine)
Wrath - goliath warden (primal)

The Striker
Celestial - Nayce the pensive assassin (shadow)

The Controller
Bluenose - Guldarin - long-tongued philosophical non-Scottish dwarf (divine)

Unknown
Tieren - striker or controller
Fabes - prob arcane controller or striker

We deffo need another striker, so I will play whatever role Tieren does not.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Like Tieren, I'll have a striker or controller. Prob controller, moving Gladness back to being a mage.

Sorry, THIS PAGE

You should be able to click on each image.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

If Tieren or Detritus have a great hankering to play a leader (well, sometimes people do...), then I can play a striker or controller.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

I think I will go for playing Gladness the tiefling mage (controller), as we look to have all the roles covered, so we can double up. Plus two controllers are lethal :D

"Tally-ho, chaps!"

Oh yes, she has the characterisation of a Victorian adventuress...

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

I'll basically play whatever after seeing what everyone else has, as I have a habit of picking a PC who is either a) the only good aligned one in a group of sadists, or b) a smart aleck opportunist in a group of saints.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Okie-doke, if Pat's going with a melee leader, I'll offer up the following characters that I'd like to try (I'll slot into whatever role is left open):

Alukard, human vampire (striker) - original name, I know...
Chaine, human hexblade - infernal pact (striker)
Father Duncan, human runepriest (leader)
Jessa Ventris, half-elf druid (controller)
Kriv the Crafty, dragonborn artificer (leader)
Gladness, tiefling mage - enchantment specialist (controller)

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

So, looks like we might have a change of cast. I'll play whatever then. We went from being melee heavy to range heavy in halls, so I will create something to balance out the rest.

How many bald girls do you want?

Lots?

Here they are!

Dark Age Games

Minis based on Brom's artwork.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

"Hello, hello... is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me, is there anyone at home?"

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

I am pleased to embark on such an epic sounding quest with you. :D

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Not trained In Thievery. Playing Avenger, multiclassed into Cleric.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

I think we could carry on with 4 if we demoted one of the leavers to a companion character - I'd be happy to run it in that case.

I'm afraid I can't follow your line of reasoning at all. Rather than get into a debate, I will sit out. Thank you for your consideration though, it's appreciated.

I'd be interested, but I'm curious as to why you aren't using the inherent bonus system, given that it's kind of tailor-made for the low treasure feel of Athas.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Everything pertaining to Darwyn is on that link. You will need to indicate on your profile which ones you have prepared. If you have a ddi account you can click on each power and cut and paste the info.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

As Bluenose says, it's Dailies and Utilities. After each Extended Rest, you get to choose which one you will have that day out of the two available at each level.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Let me know if you have any problems.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

I have put Darwyn up HERE

I have also rejigged Akemi to be a multiclass Cleric. Replaced her cat tabi (which I forgot I had) with a symbol of battle. And equipped her armour... Doh.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Good points. The longbow was kept for continuity's sake. I've swapped out Thunderwave for Illusory Ambush. I still think Point Blank shot has some value, and Vagrant Poet can always swap it out later.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Vagrant Poet - What I'm going to do with Darwyn is put him on my iplay4e profile, and put up a link to it. That way, you can cut and paste the info from there into his alias.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Here's a summary of what I have after a quick play (this is fun!):

Darwyn the Blade Wizard

Wizard 13/Wizard of the Spiral Tower

Str 12
Con 17
Dex 14
Int 18
Wis 10
Cha 17

AC:25
Fort:25
Ref:26
Will:27

Corellon’s Implement (11th level): Choose an arcane implement that you specialize in, whether the wand, staff, or orb. You can use a longsword as if it were that type of arcane implement when casting your spells.

Spiral Tower Action (11th level): You can spend an action point to regain one wizard encounter power you have already used, instead of taking an extra action.

Feats
Weapon Prof: Longsword
Ritual Caster (Bonus)
Armour Prof: Leather
Linguist
Improved Init
Bardic Diletante
Bardic Knowledge
Human Perseverance
Improved Defenses
Point-Blank Shot

Powers
Magic Missile
Scorching Burst
Thunderwave
Acid Arrow
Sleep
Shield
Glib Tongue
Maze of Mirrors
Fireball
Stinking Cloud
Disguise self
Invisibility
Concussive Echo
Ice Storm
Lightning Serpent
Blur
Mirror Image
Prismatic Burst

Equipment

+3 Songblade
+3 Leather Armour
+3 Amulet of Prot
+1 Longbow
+3 Lyre/Lute (um... I forgot which one it was)

I went for a mix of classic damage dealing and defence powers as well as some sound-based ones.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Here's what I'm thinking:

Human Wizard

Feats - grab Longsword rather than Rapier (and perhaps Rev will allow your rapier to have ahem always been a longsword really).

Wizard of the Spiral Tower - This way your weapon acts as an arcane implement for your wizard powers.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

OK- one thing to bear in mind is that the new version of Magic Missile is a no-brainer to take as it is auto-hit.

In terms of continuity, you'd have to have completely new equipment as none of your current gear will work with wizard powers.

Do you have access to the Character Builder?

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

I did also think you could try a Prescient Bard, but maybe you don't want to keep playing the Leader role. In which case, I can rejig Akemi a bit to have some healing capability.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Both are controllers and thus affect the battlefield and several opponents, or one opponent with status effects. Pat has played an Invoker to devastating effect. The invoker would make you a divine character so might add an element of religiosity that may be at odds with your concept. The wizard is still arcane (like the bard) and thus may be more in keeping with what you had before. Wizards get a great deal of flexibility thanks to their spellbook mechanic. Some of the area effects can be tremendously effective.

Are you looking to be more ranged or melee?

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

One thought that came to mind was perhaps swordmage with multiclass feats from a Leader class.

I also forgot Artificer - Leader with Ritual Caster as a bonus feat.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

I'd be willing to offer advice on remaking Darwyn. What are you looking for him to be good at?

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Non-striker, ritual caster, Leader (healer) =

Bard
Cleric

Leader, but doesn't get Ritual Caster as a bonus feat
Runepriest
Shaman

Ritual Caster but not healer (but could multiclass)

Psion
Wizard
Invoker
Druid

Insightful and erudite.

I was living near Ipswich - Central City Comics was my place for gmae stuff, as well as the shop on the other side of town who's name I forget.

Now I'm in Yorkshire, and Travelling Man in Newcastle is my nearest game fix! (Although the one in York is better!)

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Hi gang, I'm away until Sunday night GMT.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

I was told Level 12, and that there would be punch and pie.

How misinformed I was.

:D

I shall level her up, it's not a hassle.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Hi gang, I'm going to be creating a melee striker, either a Human Rogue or Avenger.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Sure thing.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Word.

Super glue or 2 part epoxy, the same as for any metal mini.

I have a feeling that there is a troll in the room...

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

I don't mind either way.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Thanks Amy.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Hi gang, I'm afraid to say that I think I will have to drop out of the game after this combat. I'm probably going to be taking on a new game as a DM which will take a up a lot of time.

It has been fun being one of the bad guys, with my evil brothers no less!

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

By his own admission his previous player was not a cleric man.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Ah, hmm, ok.

Part of me now feels that an archer warlord or prescient bard would be useful rather than good old Dorvers.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

I'm sticking with Dorvin. He is fun to play and an interesting challenge.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

I thnk we're a great group, but the last battle was a clear indication that back up ranged weapons (as Rusty has - nice one BTW!) are a really good idea.

Are we all sticking around? And of those who are, are you playing the same PC?

Same here exactly. Although I'm amazed you got CB to work in WINE - I couldn't get it to at all, and I couldn't find anyone who had through searching.

Any tips?

EDIT: Apparently, Moonlight is working on a 2 year old implementation of Silverlight's code. Nice. So that would explain why us Linux users are once again shafted.

(Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic)

Valen thinks it was true, or thinks they thought it was true. You get what I mean. :D
