About Exploit

Exploit is 115 years old, having just reached adulthood as an elf. Being an extremely intelligent child, his parents were able to apprentice him to a very successful and powerful elven wizard merchant over 50 years ago. The apprenticeship fees were onerous for his poor peasant family but his father believed that the investment would pay off since if Exploit was able to become a wizard he could lift his family from their subsistence living standards. Exploit was a dutiful apprentice and followed his master along the Qadari trade routes for decades.

About 20 years ago, while on a trade mission to a foreign city, Exploit's master was assassinated by rivals in the gem trading industry. Exploit managed to escape however he was lost in an unknown city without a copper to his name and no place to stay. Exploit has spent the last 20 years hiding in alley shadows to avoid local thugs and scrounging his meals from refuse heaps.

To while away the lonely hours, Exploit would pretend he had magic powers by practising self-taught sleight of hand tricks that looked like magic. One day a passerby who witnessed a few of Exploit's tricks, tossed him a few coppers and thus started Exploit's brief street perfomance career. Exploit's street perfoming magic act was moderately successful which attracted the thugs who extorted most of the coin that Exploit earned.

Recently, a kind stranger who watched Exploit's performance, fended off the thugs who inevitably came after the performance. The stranger offered Exploit a chance to join his organization, the Qadari faction of the Pathfinder Society. Cleaned up, fed and equipped Exploit has enjoyed his brief stint of luxury however he knows that there is always a favor asked for in return but he is willing to pay the price. after all it could not be worse then the last 20 years.

Exploit dreams of one day becoming a real wizard, amassing a fortune and someday returning to his family as a success. In the meantime however Exploit does not wish to return to his family since it would mean they would know that all the sacrifices they made to pay for his apprenticeship were wasted and he could not bear to destroy their hope for a better future.
