They said I was a mentor, so here I am.

Introduction: What to say about me? I don't know. I started playing RPG's back in High School but took a break for my first career and while my kids were young. It was only 29 years. I played D&D 4e for a while and didn't really like it. I wandered into a Pathfinder game in February 2011 and haven't looked back. After about a year I started GMing in person games. I started playing VTT online in 2019 and GMing VTT shortly after that. I have only been playing via PbP for about three years, and GMing PbP for 2 years. I have played a couple of games on Play by Discord, but they just didn't work well for me.

I was announced as earning my 5th Glyph this month. I had just earned my fourth star the month the Pathfinder 2e Playtest was announced, so I went straight into 2e without trying to finish my 5th Star for 1e. I have a few Starfinder credits (43) from filling in gaps.

IRL I'm have been working with computers since before PC's existed. My kids are grown but two of the three are still living at home. My wife is chronically ill, so my schedule gets weird sometimes. PbP works well when my schedule gets wonky.

I'm told I look at things with different perspectives, so I am hoping I can learn from others as well as showing people the way I do things. I am hoping we will all learn from each other.

I hope that meets the requirements for the introduction.

Luz's updated chronicle sheet is uploaded to the same location as the previous link.

Looks like 5 of 6 are signed up for the next scenario. We just need to hear from Hui Kong on whether they want to continue.

Since Nic is the only level 2 currently and he will be level 3 at the end of this scenario, I can take the whole party straight into 4-14 Shattering Golden Chains as soon as this one is done. Of course I'll have to prep it since I have run it on VTT but not PbP.

I hope having your characters tied up for this time is worth it to have the related scenarios done back-to-back. I like to think it is.

Nic can't get a bead on the final bird, but Mavenee moves in and dispatches it with a fiery claw.

The last enemy falls.

A familiar hateful voice roars over an angry wind.
“How dare you defy me, servant?! You are nothing, and I will make you regret your insubordination. I’ll carve a reminder of your disobedience on your soul, Safa! Return at once!”

The elegant fortress is replaced by the decrepit walls of the lodge. Safa bows, the clinking of her thin golden chains clearly audible in the silent lodge.
“You have done everything and so much more, Pathfinders. I must do his bidding. I have only one gift that is mine to give.”

A whirlwind forms in the genie’s hands before being released across the building, lifting dust and causing heavy, moth-eaten curtains to flap wildly. The wind subsides as abruptly as it arose, but there’s no trace of the djinni. The surrounding lodge appears transformed, gleaming as if untouched by the ravages of time.

A small pile of riches lies a few feet away.

The sleeping figures of the original group of Pathfinders lie nearby, and they start to move as they stir from their torpor. They open their eyes, looking around in confusion.

A middle‑aged Pathfinder with long gray hair stands up, ordering his colleagues around as they awaken one by one.
“Get up! We have to prepare the lodge for the opening ceremony! Vishka, did you...” he stops abruptly, realizing they are not alone in the room.
“Wait, who are you? What’s going on?”

Rewards: Safa rewards you with tiny gems, jewels, and semiprecious stones. Among the rewards, a small figurine made of silver stands out: a finely dressed Qadiran aristocrat with a reddened, angry face and small antlers.

Development: The freed Pathfinders have no recollection of their captivity and seem to have suffered no ill effect from the extended sleep aside from stiff limbs. In fact, their minds are set on only one thing—they’re supposed to prepare the lodge for a grand opening ceremony with several prominent Qadiran citizens, and they haven’t even started yet!

This concludes scenario 3-08, Foundation's Price. I hope you had fun and will continue into the next scenario in the arc, 3-12 Fury's Toll.

I will have chronicle sheets out shortly, and plan to start the next scenario over the weekend, unless someone needs more time.

Unfortunately for JR, there is no market for the items. As Raha said, she is one of the few who would recognize the value of the combination, and the pieces don't have any value by themselves. As long as the consensus is not to trade them to Raha or give them to Safa, you can come up with your own internal dialogs about what happens to them.

Who's up for a chorus of "We didn't start the Fire!" (but we really did.)

I had not given it much thought, so thanks to Astrid for the reminder. The Bard class states "You refill your focus pool during your daily preparations, and you can regain 1 Focus Point by spending 10 minutes using the Refocus activity to perform, write a new composition, or otherwise engage your muse." so Drak would like to engage his muse by using Bardic Lore to explore stories about the Dreamlands while he refocuses, even listening to Amma Nanni's tales of the dreamlands. While I could see Performance as a skill here, I really think Bardic Lore is most appropriate.

Bardic Lore to Research Dreamscapes while Refocusing: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29

And if our most kind and benevolent GM determines Performance would be an acceptable skill for the research, the total would be 8 higher.

GM Screen:

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

Junior realizes:

If you listen carefully to Safa words she is not a willing participant in this exercise and is giving you hints on ways to meet the letter of the taskings but violate the spirit of them. For example she tells you "What you do with them once you acquire them is not my concern, but I urge you to seek Raha Shul so that the purpose of these objects may become clear and you can make the right choice." You might assume you have to acquire the items and return them to Safa. Safa is telling you the only task is to acquire the items and you should ask Raha Shul what the items do before you decide what to do with them once they are acquired. There is a similar hint in the task to slay Tadrun, the captain of the Swift Huntress. He apparently has a number of prisoners on his ship and Zoha, an undine walking in Sarenrae’s light can help you free the good folks.

Your friends were entrapped as soon as they set foot here, by the orders of my master. His words were direct and not subject to interpretation, save I saw to their comfort as best I could. You recall seeing "Six figures sleeping on comfortable pillows"

I can't do the recall knowledge right now, so will post again in a few hours.

Safa responds to Hui Kong
The time seems like an eternity but has not been nearly so long in reality. You can do nothing to free me now, save give me the joy of seeing my master's face when he realizes the actual results of his tasks. Fear not, there are other efforts in areas you will not see.

Doesn't really matter, but looks good.

Junior checks the perimeter and notes that the lodge is a single multistory building, about 100 feet across the front and 130 feet deep. There are a few narrow windows scattered around the perimeter but they can't easily be opened from the outside. The double doors in the front appear to be the only entrance.

Greetings,

I am announcing recruitment for two scenarios run back to back: #3-08: Foundation's Price and #3-12: Fury's Toll

My intention is to run one party (with all the same characters) through both scenarios. Please don't bring a character with too much experience to play both scenarios before leveling out of the Tier for the scenarios (1-4). I like running the same party through the Arcs. It feels like a group was sent to the location to deal with the issue, and they deal with it from Beginning to end

Signups will be through RPGCHronicles and can be found [url=https://www.rpgchronicles.net/session/fa383b7f-bcda-4441-bc1c-fa15d417ce2d/pregame]here[/dice].

Signups are first come first served.

I will start the game after I notice all six signup slots filled or No Later Than 25 October.

If there is interest from the party, I could run Pathfinder Society Scenario #4-14: Shattering Golden Chains as a follow on, but it is a 3-6 scenario.

Scenario descriptions are below.

Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-08: Foundation's Price

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st- through 4th-level characters.

Following their recent successes in aiding the government of Qadira with apprehending an errant genie-binder, the Pathfinder Society earned the right to establish a new lodge in the port city of Sedeq! With the construction of the site complete, the Society sent a group to formally begin operations from the new edifice.

They never arrived.

With city officials threatening to auction off the new building should the Pathfinder Society neglect to occupy it, the Society sends a backup group of Pathfinders to investigate the lodge. Finding the brand new structure in a state of alarming disrepair, the Pathfinders have little time to search for answers before a booming voice greets them. If they wish to have their lodge, they'll have to complete three tasks...

Foundation's Price is part of the ongoing story of the Year of Shattered Sanctuaries. It is the first scenario in a two-part arc detailing the events befalling a Pathfinder Society lodge in the nation of Qadira. Other arcs explore other locations across the Inner Sea. While the arcs can be played in any order, it is recommended that players experience the scenarios within each individual arc in order.

Written by Letterio Mammoliti

Scenario tags: Metaplot (Shattered Sanctuaries)

Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-12: Fury's Toll

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st- through 4th-level characters.

When a group of Pathfinders sent to establish a presence at the Society's new lodge in Sedeq, Qadira, failed to report back, the Society sent a second group to investigate. When they arrived, they found the lodge in disrepair. A powerful genie confronted them, demanding that if they ever wanted to see the missing Pathfinders again, the Pathfinders must complete three tasks for the genie's cruel master!

With the tasks completed and the missing Pathfinders safe and sound, it is now time to prepare the lodge for a grand opening celebration. Important figures from all across Qadira have been invited to attend—including some potential allies—and the Society is counting on its agents to ensure the event goes off without a hitch. The Society's future in Qadira may depend on the success, or failure, of this event!

Unfortunately, the Society's hidden enemy is well aware of the celebration's importance. Outraged by the Society's success in reclaiming the lodge, he has once again laid a trap for the Pathfinders and their guests. One way or another, he intends to exact a terrible price.

Fury's Toll is part of the ongoing story of the Year of Shattered Sanctuaries. It is the second scenario in a two-part arc detailing the events befalling a Pathfinder Society lodge in the nation of Qadira. The first part of this arc is Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-08: Foundation's Price. Other arcs explore other locations across the Inner Sea. While the arcs can be played in any order, it is recommended that players experience the scenarios within each individual arc in order.

Actually, Jiggo's roll is enough. You get to subtract 2 from the DC for impressing Whiirii, keeping travelers alive, and giving over Buffalo Jerky. That is -6 from a DC 19 roll.

The party, Whiirii, and Tsimaan have collectively repatriated Hatahasi to its home in Niishan. Mayor Deyahi expresses her gratitude, particularly toward the party; she names you as guests of honor in the feast that follows the return of Hatahasi. The celebrations last for days. Whiirii remains elusive but is occasionally seen at Mayor Deyahi’s side. Tsimaan mingles with the residents of Niishan, entertaining them with stories of her journeys throughout the continent. If she spots any of the party members, she calls out to you and extols your achievements during her time with you.

This ends the Arcadia Arc for season 4. I hope you had fun. I will be send out chronicles shortly

I fixed Princess Clover's number on the session report. My apologies for the error there. I have uploaded a new chronicle but it doesn't have the boxes checked yet. I will fix that shortly.

Zhamie, I didn't see any thumb drives being distributed. Those kind of traps have been around a number of years and most people in the industry are aware of the issues. The DEFCON web site actually recommends flushing any you find so someone else doesn't get fooled.

QR codes with embedded malicious web sites are more of a current problem, as it seems everyone wants you to "point your cell phone camera at the screen and use this QR code to get to our web site." Slips of paper with QR codes are cheaper than flash drives.

I went ahead and filled in the boxes, and posted new copies of the Chronicle sheets here

I have also reported the session on the Paizo web site.

On my flight back I was sitting next to a woman who attended DEFCON as well. Just before we deplaned she mentioned she had gone to the physical security area and managed to win a competition by picking her way out of a set of handcuffs in 5 seconds.

It didn't occur to me until later to wonder how she got so much experience with handcuffs.

Voron sends darts of flames at the various enemies. All of the flames hit the enemies, with Green looking pretty rough and Teal and Purple still standing tall.

Green moves to defend the others

◆ Step between Purple and Mavenee

◆ Swing at Mavenee
bastard sword +5 (two-hand 1d12): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Slashing Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Martin, you stated "Martin places a couple of protective spells on Mavenee" without specifying if those spells increased Mavenee's AC. I just hit Mavenee's AC listed on their sheet. I will assume that hit for now, but in the future please state the effect of any buffs you apply.

◆ Second Swing at Mavenee
bastard sword +5 (two-hand 1d12): 1d20 + 5 - 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 - 5 = 16
Slashing Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Hitting with one swing and missing with the other

Rude awakening: Round 2

Party Conditions: Inspire Courage +1 ATK/DMG 2/3

Bold may act

Grace of the Owl Purple -8 HP
Peter Plus-Haut 38/38 HP
Zhamie Zhapp 40/40 HP
Witch’s Wing Red -29 HP, Dead
Grace of the Owl Blue -18 HP
Voron Keyphyra 24/24 HP
Witch’s Wing Green -24 HP
Martin and Mavenee 37/47 HP, Mavenee DC 20 Fort save Vs Grim Tendrils
Jiggo and Salera 47/47 HP, Salera DC 20 Fort save Vs Grim Tendrils, Salera DC 20 Will save vs Phantom Pain
Clover 35/36 HP, Magic Weapon on Hammer

I realized I should have assigned a couple of Hero Points by this point in the scenario

GM Screen:

Hero point for 1 The Moon Bear's 2 Goupour Dune 3 Flory Buntzer 4 Hui Kong 5 Hasvi 6 Nanoc Evitceted: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5

Hero Points awarded to Goupour Dune and Flory Buntzer

Envoy's Alliance

”Murph” | Male gnome rogue 7 (Advanced Player's Guide) | HP 78/78 | AC 25 | Fort +11; Ref +17 (Successes are crit successes instead.); Will +13; +2 circumstance bonus vs. traps or devices you failed to disarm | Perc +15 | Default Exploration ( Searching) | Speed 25ft | Focus points0/0 | Hero Points 1/1 | Harmonic Wayfinder 1/1 | Active Conditions: None

Do applicable Lores typically have a lower DC? If so, Murph has Scouting Lore to search the Dunes. Survival would be one lower

Scouting Lore to search the dunes for clues: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31

I think I found something

I always forget to check for Tiny on the creature description. Yes the Raven is tiny, so no hit.

I encourage everyone to play what would be fun for them.

I've run enough tables that I am pretty comfortable making the adjustments, and while I often drop a character or two, I haven't killed anyone in PF2 yet. Just remember, the GM doesn't kill characters, Persistent Damage kills characters (typically.)

I've run multiple tables at one time before, but this will be my first shot at two tables of the same scenario at the same time. I don't anticipate any problems, especially since I just finished running a Bounty so these will be the only two scenarios I am running.

Give me a couple of days to replicate things for the two tables and finalize the player redistribution, then I will post an announcement to start.

How about I start a second table? I think I made a mistake by posting both the recruiting thread and RPG chronicles, so I will make amends by setting up a second table. I need a little time to get that done as I an currently sitting in the Emergency Room with my wife and failing at posting from my phone

Here's hoping I won't need the coin reroll
Reflex save, DC 12: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

Didn't need it this time.

Phelps moves up and looks for a clear shot. All the enemies are second range increment, and I think I have the clearest shot at Red, so here we go.

Attack roll at Red EAC with Plasma Bolter: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Electric and Fire damage: 1d10 ⇒ 3

Maybe a hit, finally, but the low end of damage anyway

Omen, Ok You certainly seem like a Bad Omen, and that will make you easier to remember.
