Is the price for the pdf accurate here? Usually the hard back books go for much less in pdf form then their paperback cousins. Is there a reason for the price increase or is it hopefully a typo?
The $9.99 pdf priced hardcovers only goes for the Rulebook line and the Inner Sea World Guide (as, essentially, the core introductory product for the campaign setting). Other hardcovers follow the normal print to pdf pricing ratio. See the Rise of the Runelords hardcover for a precedent.
Ehh but I think that price is more of a mark of it being not just a hardback but a compilation of 6 other books updated to pathfinder as part of an anniversary celebration more than anything else. Have they done any other hardbacks outside of Rise that fall outside of the norm that mark this precedent or is this the only one?

The other precedent is the old Pathfinder Campaign Setting book, which was a standard PDF pricing .

Paizo have confirmed upthread that the $28 is correct.

I don't remember what the prices were before on the main page, but it doesn't look like they've updated it once it's in the cart.

The savings are listed on the subscription shop option, which is what Isil-zha was talking about. They've yet to be applied to the actual products correctly, as Erik said the were going to update it 'soon' last thing on Friday.

You are correct. Thank you for clearing it up for me.

I notice that you're an Adventure Path subscriber, among other things. Are you pretty happy with the service and the shipping costs for that line?

Service is brilliant - there have been a couple of problems with shipment (mostly to do with the postal services between them and me), but they've always been solved quickly and helpfully.

Shipping is expensive (I'm in the UK), but I think that the combination of the discounts (both on the volumes and across the site), plus the advantage of the free PDF and the simple convinience of having the stuff dropped off straight at my home more than make up for it.

It's depicted in Mythic Realms - giant elephant thing with four tusks, and spikes going all up it's back.

Also, bigger than the standard colossal 6" by 6" base

with microprocessing these days, is it really unfeasable to guarantee "one of each" in a case?

Since there are humans involved in putting things into the cases, Wizkids/Paizo have been unwilling to state as fact that you are certain to get one of each mini. My understanding is that for every main set other than Rise of the Runelords, the plan was/is for a case to get at least one of each, but the setup isn't strong enough to give a cast iron guarantee that would open the companies up to complaints/potential legal trouble.

Goodreader is a solid PDF reading application for the iPad. You can download zips directly from Paizo into it.

ISWG is just a masive file, and it will struggle to download it. Probably the best tactic is to download it to your main computer. Then when you sync, on the bottom of the app tabs there will ber a pane where you can transfer documents directly into Goodreader, which will allow you to get the files over.

It's not a check. If you could bless Holy candle, you could also bless a cure to get more cards in, to get a better boost from aid, basically anything with a random value.

It would probably be clearer if the recharge box was actually labelled recharge check, as that is what it actually is. This would make the Amulet slightly more obvious, as there is no check to recharge it.

The idea is that I can basically pay the money all at once (hence the prepaid card as you pay for it all at once) and then not have to think about it on my budget (so accounted for in one months budget instead of approaching it each month) each month.

Does this store credit thing allow you to do that. What is the store credit thing?

Thanks.

since nobody seems to have answered this - Yes, you buy gift certificates, and then 'gift' them to yourself. This gives you store credit, which you can choose to have used for your subscriptions.

You will still need to have a credit card attached to the subscription, so you will still want to cancel your subscription in July after part 6 comes out.

Also, don't forget to account for shipping. You'll probably also want to monitor the confirmation emails to make sure that shipping isn't increasing.

To answer your original point, no there isn't a Gargantuan White in the AP. Reading between the lines, I suspect what happened was that Erik was pressing to get the hut until pretty much the last moment, then was left looking round for an appropriate Gargantuan mini, dragons are always nice ast that size, and White are the most Winter associated.

Do they send you another email when it actually ships?

I got a reminder email 3-4 weeks ago about my subscription and then I got a "it'll ship sometime between now and the 21st" email about a week and a half ago... and since the tracking number on that doesn't seem to be useful I'm wondering if I just wait until it randomly shows up or what?

Seems like a strange way to handle shipping.

Edit - Oh wait, I checked it again and apparently it went out today. I still think it's sort of an odd "we'll send em out over the course of a week" shipping method. Not enough people to handle the shipping? Why not prep them in advance and have them all picked up by the carrier on a certain date?

They mass print labels and orders (which triggers your email) and then work through the stack of labels sending orders out. That stack takes them a while to work through, with regular pick ups during the period.

As for prepping them before a specific day and then getting them picked up,

1) That means that there's a pile of boxes sitting in the warehouse ready to go, taking up space, when the courier turns up every day.

2) What if someone changes their order? The Warehouse have to hunt that box down, open it up and then redo everything for it.

Better to have a committed email at the begining, and to ship things as the courier turns up.

There aren't many of them, and they're quite powerful.

We're presuming that you mean the likes of Strength for displayed cards (which all specfically say that they go away at the end of the turn), and not ones with the reveal keyword? One with a reveal action on them (for example most weapon's basic power), when you want to do the reveal ability, you show that you have it, it applies to your check, and then it goes badck into your hand.

When we're playing, we have our hands out in front of us, and just move revealed cards slightly forward to show that we're using them.

1. I believe it is stated that when encountering a villain, attempt to temporarily close locations prior to resolving the villain encounter. Does it matter which order you do it in? I've found the process is more exciting to resolve the villain first, then try to "block" the avenues for escape, regardless of whether the villain is repositioning after victory or fleeing.

2. More for curiosity, why "temporarily close" rather than "blocking". From other posts from Mike, I'm going to assume it's because you don't want to add more terminology than you need to. But I found it easier to explain to my players that they are trying to block the villain from escaping.

On 1, it should be before. You have to commit the resources to closing before fighting the Villan.

I suspect it's because this is the first scenario that has the situation come up (namely two Villans in a location). I suppose it's possible it could have come up from someone failing to defeat the villan, then getting him back in the same location, but then having a remaining card to explore, and him coming on top, but that would be quite an unlikely series of occurences.

It's actually very rare for BotG to be Banished (only happens if you use it for a 'banish a card' effect, for closing locations or the like, or if it's in the deck when you close a location from henchmen).

Tidying up at the end of play is not counted as banishing.

So really, it would be lizard men ascendant in the South, the Oni having prevailed against Ameiko, the Runelords in full control of Varisia, and so forth. Ice would be spreading across the land, and the Crusade fails, leaving the forces of darkness to try and stop the Worldwound, while wondering when their erstwhile allies would try to betray them.

From what I can tell it seems Kyonin is also a crater and the Stolen Lands are a wasteland..... At least there don't seem to be any major world changing repercussions from Skull and Shackles..... What happens if the Legacy of Fire and Carrion Crown APs fail?

In Legacy of Fire an Efreet resurects/inhabits the remains of a Spawn of Rovagug, smashs a load of Katapesh and probably skips off plane.

If the heroes fail early enough in Carrion Crown, then the Whispering Tyrant gets recreated outside Gallowspire, so not good...

Crimson Throne, Second Darkness are on the 3.5 xp track, which is radically different to the Pathfinder XP train. You simply had to gain an amount of xp equivalent to the level you were on times 1000. So at 1st level ypu had tp gain 1000xp, then you were 2nd. at second you had to gain 2000 xp (taking you to a total of 3,000)

Crimson Throne "by the end of the adventure characters should be 16th level"
Second Darkness "by the end of the adventure characters should be 16th level"
Legacy of Fire "by the end of the adventure characters should be 16th level"
Note that these only get you around 120,000 xp, or between 11th & 12 on fast.

Everything from here on out is medium. Council only made 13th, but Kingmaker should get you to 17th

From a coding point of view I'd guess no - in order to relate it to shipping, you'd have to run through the entire subscriber base to find out what people wanted that month, then do the warehouse shipping optimisation magic (tm), then send everyone their email. Much better to send emails as you go to subscribers.

What it might help with is where you are in the group of similar orders that is going out at similar times

As has been stated a number of times on here, you do not copy that part of the blessing.

In fairness to bobbovine, I had the exact same question. In fact, having read the rules many times now and having read the new "meta" rules, it is pretty clear that the CARD itself says what it can do. Here is the exact meta-rule as quoted from the revised rule book:

"Cards Do What They Say. Read any card as it is encountered or played, and
do whatever it says as soon as it makes sense to do so. Let the card tell
you what to do, and don’t impose limitations that aren’t there." (Key phrase: "don't impose limitations that aren't there")

As such, I read the BotG card as follows:
"You may instead treat this card as if it were identical to the top card of the blessings discard pile." (Key word: "identical")

With no knowledge other than the meta rule and the text of this card, it would be intuitive that the BotG card in my hand "becomes" the top card of the blessings discard pile. And as such, it is identical to that card. Therefore, if there is a Recharge criteria listed on that card, one would assume it is active, by the mere fact that the cards are now "identical".

I'm not trying to be flip, but if the Recharge criteria is *not* allowed, then IMHO the text of the BotG card needs to change (e.g. "has identical POWERS as the top card..."; thereby not copying the Recharge criteria), or a clarification added to the rule manual, since this seems on the surface to be a violation of the meta-rule.

Which is why Blessing of the Gods has been errattaed to say You may instead treat this card as if it had the same powers as the top card of the blessings discard pile.

1) there's no option on the account to do this. Customer Service might be able to do it as a special request, but I'm not sure.

2) I've never had the two at the same time, but I have had both seperately, and they operated the same

3) this is the pricing for a store credit order from my 'my orders' page:

That's only one day's worth of actual shipping (Monday was a holiday). The items you ordered will have had a 'usually ships in x-y days' on them. These are working days, and I believe the minimum is 2-6 days, so it would have been above expectations to have your order ship yet. More likely given the busyness of the warhouse it'll be at the long end rather than the short.

(The Cleric of Nerull is the only other one I remember, from an early DDM set.) That's fabulous!

The Redcap from Shattered Star(?) has one as well.

Runelords, but yes.
