Yeah, there wasn't a November shipment last year as stuff was running behind.

The estimated window in the top post runs until Friday, so people shouldn't be worrying until at the earliest Monday.

Had similar problem on this order https://secure.paizo.com/paizo/account/orders/v5748a8i3wnqc

It is showing as pending, so hopefully it's in the great queue, but still siightly paranoid about it...

Also, if my party turns the right way in two weeks time, they're going to run into a Shemazian, so if there's any chance it might make it out, I'd be really happy

I think the problem is that without seeing the OGL statements from the actual book, we can't really guide you.

There will be the OGL (a big block of text That wil start like this:

Product Identity: The following items are hereby identified as Product Identity, as defined in the Open Game License version 1.0a, Section 1(e), and are not Open

If it's got the OGL, and the items you want to quote are not excluded by the product identity statement, then as long as the way you are distributing the item includes the OGL, and the copy of the OGL includes steam & steel in it's Section 15, you should be covered

PF87 section 15 -care minor spoilers of opponents from non-Paizo sources:

So, if I were interested in distributing the main bad guy from Chocking tower for example, I would look at his bit in the book. I would then need to go through it looking to see if any items in him were part of that product identity. His name would have to be removed first off, and most of the background on him would also have to come out, under the plots/storylines bit. If the statblock mentioned a God he worshipped (for example if he were a cleric), that would also have to come out, and any equipment, spells or feats including proper names would have to be removed (for example, if he had a Cayden's cup, that would need to come out, and something similar but not the same would have to go in - the best example is how Pathfinder has Mage's Sword, but the 3.5 handbook has a different name for the same spell. What you'd likely be left with is the statblock on it's own.

I am not a lawyer, and even if I were,it wouldn't be wise to take my advice based on what you'd supplied me (or without paying me!), but if you're just distributing for friends, or even distributing publiclly but for free, getting the OGL attached with a correctly completed Section 15 included should easily cover you. If you were planning to sell it on, it'd be worth paying a Copyright or at least Business Lawyer to sit down with the book, and the OGL and give you concrete advice on what to do, or at least general guidelines on how to implement the OGL, but from how you describe it? Nothing you'd do would be prticularly wrong, and certainly not wrong or big enough to earn a Cease & Desist notice, let alone a suit.

Edit:
Bah Gninjaed!

TLDR of above; copy the ogl straight, Only include things on the List you quote from the book, you're fine.

From January on, thery're releasing a monthly pack of 5 iconics +1 other (animal companion, familiar, mount etc). This will cover all the iconics pretty quickly.

You're right: it won't be popular at all. In fact, it's a pretty sure bet you'll completely derail this topic with that kind of post. Do yourself a favor and delete it.
I'm not trying to derail anything - that seems to me to very clearly be one of the 'irons' Paizo has in the fire... its not occurring by happenstance, its occurring as a result of very conscientious and deliberate planning, something which I'm certain involves much discussion and deliberation... i.e. time. Manhours. In the interest of being inclusive and accepting of all sincerely offered viewpoints, even unpopular ones, why would I feel the need to censor my own?
It takes zero additional "manhours" (interesting term to use in this comment) to make a world that is open and inclusive.

The Elixir of Sex Change is a very tiny example of what I'm referencing. I'm assuming ti was written up, possibly a handful of drafts as I imagine most written work receives, reviewed by someone, possibly several someones as most written work is, some effort put into determining a proper gp cost for it and so on... and I imagine every step of the way that took some time. Not exhaustive amounts to be sure, but it adds up, especially when spread across numerous characters - NPC's and Iconics, items, story lines, etc.

Now, I'm assuming that the Elixir of Sex Change didn't magically appear on the printed page and I'm assuming its sole purpose was to make the world more open and inclusive, no? That suggests your statement isn't entirely true.

Yes, it would have taken some time to get in the book. Slightly more than the Elixr of the thundering voice below it, about the same time as the Drinking horn of the Pancea above it, and most importantly, exactly the same amount of time as the alternate item that would be needed to fill that 3.5 column inches in the ACG.

It's not that if Paizo stopped including LGBT friendly elements in their books it would free up time to deal with editing passes or any of the other issues, as they would still need to fill the book space used to describe those characters

Fun, fun, fun, Paizo! Love it despite the errors.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but only ones with the printing error exist at present. When (if) a second edition occurs, that will be corrected, but at present every book in circulation is the 'limited edition'

It looks like you got a 2nd printing.

The first (top opening) printing was done in China, all before release. Then it was released, and turned out to be really popular, so to meet demand, new versions were ordered. Given time & size, it became more economical to print in the US, but unfortunately the box that the US printer have is different.

Given the mention of the break not being clear, and 'booklet', I'm pretty sure you're playing the original version, not the aniversary one.

Original Xanesha is a notorious party killer - you'd struggle to beat here with a full part of 8-9th level character.

You'll want to look at the anniversary version for a far more sensible, but still challenging X

Got the same email. Nice to get official word straight from CS. Not to be dense and I am tired but wouldn't shipping something free with the other subscription items still increase the amount of shipping? It's not like they can leave the weight of the deck off when the package is weighed and shipped through UPS or whoever is the carrier. I suppose a shipping credit will be applied for the difference? In any case the $10 would make up for it and is a nice gesture.

Paizo's system knows the weight (and size) of the products, and so can calculate the appropriate shipping. Therefore they can calculate (shipping without addon deck) and charge you, then calculate (shipping with addon deck) and pay that to UPS

Maybe this has been answered already, but do these new character decks supersede the original character add-on deck?

Thanks

No. They are completely different.

The character add on deck(s) is specifically designed to tie to a base set, adding a 4 new characters (with a couple of nice cards designed for them) and a bunch of basic cards to allow the set to cover a fifth & sixth character. There is a Rise of the Runelords one for the RotR base set, a Skull & Shackles one for S&S etc. All the cards are designed to be in from the beginning.

The class decks are primrially for organised play, but can be used for other forms of play. Each deck has 4 characters of the same class, with similar but different abilities. They have cards for all levels of the game (basic & 1-6), allowing you to build a full character from it.

But personally, it's more than a little frustrating as it conflicts with three large cons in the bay area, including KublaCon. It's going to be a real bummer for the local PFS crew.

How far is this new hotel from the SeaTac Marriott, where Paizocon has been previously held? I'm a Marriott rewards member, so I'm inclined to stay there rather than at the Doubletree if it's close enough?

Google Maps reckons 18 minutes

Hilton's HHonours reward scheme can be configured so that it feeds it's points into another scheme, including Marriott. Obviously if you're at the point of getting active benefits from enough stays, then it's might not be worth it, but as far as the pure points are concerned it should be a wash.

Doing it in October meant they had two months with the book locked down, so they could have a decent amount of time to make sure everthing in here worked with the ACG.

Also to give the design team the time to work on it.

Actually, they've said that although the generally do do about half traditional, half experimental, it's not actually a strict alternation, and both GS and HR are going traditional given the run of RoW (planet hopping/fairy tale, so experimental) WotR (mythic, so mechanically experimental though the plot was traditional) Mummy's Mask (traditional, but outside medieval fantasy) and Iron Gods (all the crazy) means that the traditional story lovers have been missing out for a while.

Also given the middling chance of the post HR one involving Vuda and psychic magic, worth stocking up before going off piste again.

This happens sometimes (rarely, but sometimes)

At the printer, they run off 8 page spreads in one piece, then cut them up & assemble them automatically. Sometimes the machine pulls the wrong set of pages.

Look's like you're already on the way to sorting this - best plan is to go to your seller & ask for an exchange (they will be able to push it up the chain)
