Just squeaking in under the wire. For your consideration I would like to apply with Emyralda Mvashti, Varisian Occultist. Emyralda's stats and background (including her relationship with Professor Lorrimor and her Dark Secret) are included in this alias. Emyralda is mainly an Occult version of the magus with some skill support, but is anticipated to provide some broader spellcasting abilities as she advances. I previously played a different character through the Haunting of Harrowstone and the first part of Trial of the Beast in a PbP campaign that ended early last year due to DM illness. I am not currently playing in another Carrion Crown campaign on the boards. I have no problem with separating player knowledge from character knowledge. I can easily post at least once per day on weekdays, and usually once per day or more on weekends. Thank you for your consideration. Good luck to everyone!

Note: Last round Emyralda ignited a smokestick and dropped it so that the smoke fills squares Z,9-10 and AA,9-10 for 10 rounds. As she sings, her song causes a spark to ignite the second smokestick in her hand, which she drops at her feet. Free action to maintain Bardic Performance (Inspire Courage). 5-ft. step to square BB,10. Standard action to cast Spark cantrip on smokestick. Free action to drop smokestick at NW corner of square BB,10; smoke fills 10-ft. cube covering squares BB,9-10 and CC,9-10 for 1 minute (10 rounds). Heeding Darian's request, Emyralda backs up a step as she continues to sing her inspiring Varisian tune to bolster her companions' courage. Seeing Darian struck by another arrow, Emyralda sings another healing spell to mend his wounds before stepping back toward the standing stone. Standard action to cast Cure Light Wounds on Darian: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 hp healed. Move action 15 ft. to square BB,11. Rounds of Bardic Performance used today: 3/11 Buffs in Effect:
I am now out of 1st level spells. Still recommend Darian and Felix step back into the 'mist' to gain some cover.
Female Human (Varisian) Magus (Hexcrafter/Kapenia Dancer) 1
Looks like you, Darian, Felix, and Taravel could all use some healing. Terra and I are still unscathed for the moment. If we can all fight from within the cover provided by Terra's illusion I think we might stand a chance. That'll also put us near the river if we need to jump in for a hasty retreat.
Female Human (Varisian) Magus (Hexcrafter/Kapenia Dancer) 1
"Fall back into the mist, where they can't see us! Make them come to you!" Emyralda calls to her companions. Standard action to cast Cure Light Wounds on Darian: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 hp healed. Rounds of Bardic Performance used today: 3/11 Buffs in Effect:
Darian, you could still take a 5 ft step back into the illusion, although you would still be sticking out a bit...
Female Human (Varisian) Magus (Hexcrafter/Kapenia Dancer) 1
Darian and Felix both succeeded at the DC 14 Will saves to see through the misty illusion, so they can join us in taking cover in the 'mist' without being hindered by it. Not sure if Taravel attempted the save yet - if not, she gets a +4 bonus to the save since Emyralda alerted everyone to the illusion's nature via her Message spell.
Female Human (Varisian) Magus (Hexcrafter/Kapenia Dancer) 1
Emyralda ceases her singing as she reaches into Terra's pack and retrieves the wand contained therein. The young woman then steps to the edge of the 'mist' behind Taravel. "Here! Use it on Darian!" she instructs the barbarian. Free action to stop singing; the effects of Bardic Performance (Inspire Courage) continue for 2 more rounds due to Lingering Performance Feat. Move action to retrieve Terra's Wand of Enlarge Person. Second move action 20 feet to square Z,14 to pass it off to Taravel. Rounds of Bardic Performance used today: 3/11 Buffs in Effect:

If we're going to hold position near and/or in the illusion, we're going to need someone to start making ranged attacks against the hobgoblin shaman-leader and the pretty lady up on the ledge to keep them from casting spells at us. I've only got one crossbow bolt left and no effective spells that can reach that far. As far as I can tell, the mass of goblins haven't seen through the illusion... yet. We may be able to draw them in, hope most of them fail their saves, and take them out a bit easier if they can't see.
Female Human (Varisian) Magus (Hexcrafter/Kapenia Dancer) 1
Seeing the hobgoblin leader begin the telltale signs of spellcasting, Emyralda sights down her crossbow and fires in an attempt to disrupt his spell. She then reloads her crossbow with her last bolt. Free action to maintain Bardic Performance (Inspire Courage). 5 ft step back to square CC,10. Standard action to fire light crossbow at Hobgoblin hg1; move action to reload. Striking a particularly sharp chord, the Varisian bard transforms the musical notes into a shower of piercing, crystalline shards that strike the two hobgoblins without even grazing Soth-Loren. Free action to maintain Bardic Performance (Inspire Courage). Move action to step 10 ft to square BB,10 without provoking AoO. Standard action to defensively cast Chord of Shards; 15 ft cone should strike Hobgoblins hg1 and hg2 without striking Soth-Loren. Standard action to cast Ear-Piercing Scream at Hobgoblin 1; the scream can only be heard by the target. Please note: Emyralda cast her Message spell a few rounds ago; it has a duration of 10 minutes per level (30 minutes), so warning her friends of the spell this round would've been a free action. Therefore, please apply Emyralda's readied action posted above to fire at the first of the hobgoblins to enter the mist: Emyralda wrote:

"Well, that should get the goblins' attention," Emyralda comments to Terra as the goblin dogs begin to howl. The young Varisian glances up toward the caves in the cliff to see if any enemies respond to the commotion. Holding action with crossbow loaded and ready to fire.
Female Human (Varisian) Magus (Hexcrafter/Kapenia Dancer) 1
I climbed to the top of the grassy knoll, which from DM Cobalt's description is only 5 ft high. I didn't climb the cliff-like canyon wall to the ledge and cave entrance. I know Terra is a bit short for an elf, but I don't think she'll need a rope to climb the small hill to my position. ;-)
Female Human (Varisian) Magus (Hexcrafter/Kapenia Dancer) 1
"That looks like a steep climb, and we don't know if anything might come out of that cave about thirty feet up. I'd be happy to set up with my crossbow on that grassy knoll with the standing stone," Emyralda suggests. I can't believe I just volunteered to take up a sniper position on a grassy knoll!
