Supposedly, one binge drinks while the other stays comfortably intoxicated most of the time. Which is which, I can't remember.

The Human Centipede? I haven't seen it and don't really plan to. A colleague of mine at work saw it and found it pretty 'meh'.
Didn't see it; it just sounds like something a fourth grader thought up. It's too goofy to be scary..
You must know some f#%~ed up fourth graders.

Maybe career 4th graders?

Good luck with your job search, CH. Sorry to hear that your partner's job opportunity fell through.

Plus I successfully fought off my boss' passive-aggressive attempt to have me limit my LA trip to 2 days and take the red eye home. (So I could come into work the next day with 4 hours sleep, since 'I could sleep on the flight home'. Bleh.)

Do I need to come to LA to wish you well in person? Well, I will. Tuesday to be precise. So there. Good luck. Warm up the beaches for me.

What are you coming this way for? It's been chilly, but I'll work on those beaches.

And thanks for the well wishes!

No prob. Be confident. But not too confident. Add a little excitement. They like that.

Business. Scope some real estate. Just for a couple of days tho.

Spent a good portion of last night migrating files from my old PC to the new one. Ugh, but it will be worth it in the long run.

Thinking about installing MalwareBytes again. Does anyone know if it slows down your computer like AVG Free does?

Cleaning my bsmt, to get the home office in order - UGH. Finding Dragon #102 and #103 - 1987 FAWESOME. Must read the Gygax article on gaming style, and the Future of AD&D article.

You didn't see the tons of commercials a year or so ago showing driving across the country to his new digs in LA?

With Joss Whedon riding shotgun and the both of them singing Beach Boys songs?

Things have worsened considerably; he's not expected to make it. I hope, fervently, that he'll pull through somehow, but everything I've heard suggests that the worst will happen soon. He started feeling bad a few weeks ago, and checked into the hospital less than a week before Xmas; was diagnosed on the 22nd. And now this. It's too fast.

Sympathies, Jeff. Prayers for your dad, you, and your family.

Also tried to go Christmas shopping at the mall....that didn't work. Didn't buy a single present. I'm starting to think that getting gift cards for everyone would be an awesome idea. And the kidlet totally meted down. Couldn't handle the crowds at all. The noise and lights and lack of space were just too much for him. But I'm super duper proud of him because even though he was totally overwhelmed and basically hiding wherever he could find a safish spot, he didn't throw a tantrum. That's a first.

Thanks for the grats, and grats to your boy!

2nd good news of the day -

My daughter just got her acceptance notice from the University of Michigan. She's on Cloud 9. Me? I'm ratcheting thru options on how to pay for it. Hopefully her Air force ROTC scholarship comes thru. Then we'll just have to worry about room and board.

Still, a happy day. :)

Mom is fine! They found a couple small reasons that there was bleeding but they had already stopped on their own. She's to be released tomorrow!

Thanks all for the support. I was a nervous old tree yesterday.

Bless her heart. You guys live in the same part of the country?

Yep. I'm the youngest of 7, and we all live within 45 mins of each other. Some of the next generation have spread out some, but not my siblings and I.

People want to visit my mom but she doesn't want us to, because the prep for the procedure isn't too pleasant or modest. Dang hospital gowns and their open backs. Heh She sounds tired, but good.

Thanks all.

Just got off the phone with my mom. Though miserable, she can still get her Irish up. Hehe, gotta luv it. Plus at her age she doesn't hold back. ~Why don't they have small size dressing gowns? It's too dang noisy, etc. Hehe

Thanks. Actually, I'm a lot better off than a lot of people. I just grouse more than my fair share, and don't take stock of the good things as much as I should.

I'm working, I have a mostly good family life, and a lot of friends that are just as nutty as me. :D

YES, I mean you all!

UPDATE: They're doing a colonoscopy and upper GI on my mom tomorrow, so the bleed looks internal. The good news is that the bleed is small, and her hemoglobin level is on par with her last doc appt. (slightly anemic)

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

Ugh on the family colds.
