"I think I will just wait out here in the wagon then. I am not supposed to be there for another couple of hours, have to arrive fashionably late you know. I don't really have anything else to do." She gives them a wink and a smile. "And I couldn't let you do it for free, I'd have to at least give you something in return. Two strapping men such as yourselves surely need some kind of recompense." She turns and walks slowly and seductively back into the Cart House, making sure to put some extra sway into her hips.

Keth Longstrider wrote:

"I go in quick hoping not to fight, but ready should we have to...Ill make my way across to block the nearest door to them quick and hard, so none can escape."

"whoever can speak well, engage them to make them pause...while I move. Ready? Lets go...."

Elizabeth shakes her head at Keth's suggestion. She whispers to them, "Keth three doors is too many for you to try and protect. It would be too easy for one of them to slip by you. Instead, I suggest that I enter alone, while the rest of you wait out here in hiding. I will engage them in a discourse as you suggest and try to lure them out here into the Cart House where we can better contain them and where it is less likely that they will be able to summon help. Keth, I suggest you and Garth behind each of the doors, which I will open both of, and Arius and Branahm in the cart. Once they are out here, then close the doors behind them and step out. Anju, you and your wolf shall wait in the yard out there and come in to assist if they put up a fight. How does that sound?"

If everyone agrees, then while they all get into position, Elizabeth moves away from the doors and slowly waves her hands over her body while whispering quietly to herself. Once done, she makes sure everyone is out of sight, then pulls both doors open and strides into the room, stopping just inside the threshold.
"Good evening gentlemen. It is a fine night. Much too fine to be working late. What brings you in to work when you should be at home with your families? I noticed your light on and was wondering if I was able to purchase some meat for a function that I am attending in an hour? My normal butcher is closed and someone suggested your esteemed establishment. I wanted something fresh and was wondering if there was anything good out here in the yard that I may accquire?"

Diplomacy Check. (1d20+9=29)
Activated Mage Armour before opening door. Lasts for 1 hour.

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

Elizabeth eases the door closed quietly and waits patiently for Arius' Message. Once it comes, she explains the situation and tell them to come to the main entrance to the Cart House. She then moves over to the main door to meet the rest of the party as they arrive, ushering them inside quickly and quietly.

Arius Pelgane wrote:
"Elizabeth, I'm sure that you're familiar with Elgarth's Cantrip of Remote Conversation, but...."

"I am familiar with the principles, although I do not have that particular spell in my repotoire."

She turns to Keth. "Let us be off then my brawny friend, to see what we can see."
With that, she turns and heads off towards the Cart House. After a moment, you loose sight of her as she fades into the surrounding shadows and is gone.
Stealth. (1d20+8=25)
She quietly opens the door a crack to peer inside and once noticing the coast is clear, steps through the slim break in the door. Taking in the Cart House at a glance, she hurries towards the doors on the far wall and gives them a try.
Disable Device (Open Lock). (1d20+7=21) Just in case one is needed for either door.

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

Elizabeth and Anju return to the meeting place near the Butcher's Shop.
Elizabeth looks markedly different than the imaculate upper class vixen that you have previously seen. She is wearing a figure hugging black body suit and her hair is tied back securly in a pony tail instead of hanging free. Caress rests easily on her left hip and her hand is never far from the Fine Kukri. On her right is a large pouch strapped to her thigh and another smaller pouch with two compartments next to it. A black backpack sits snuggly at her back.
"Well what are you all staring at, it's like you haven't seen two beautiful women before." She smirks and winks at Anju.
"Well let's get this over with so we can all be home to bed."
"The carriage house you said Keth. Lead on then."

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

Elizabeth gives Keth a withering stare.
"I think that I am quite well dressed for the evening thank you, just maybe not for the particular job we have on this evening."
Turning to Anju she says, "I think that it may be prudent for us to divest ourselves of this attire and slip into something a little more... suited to the job at hand. Wouldn't you agree?"
Turning to the others she proclaims, "We shall return momentarily. Feel free to amuse yourselves while we are gone." With that, she takes Anju's hand and leads her away from the others, making sure to put some sway into her hips as she goes.

To Anju:

Spoiler:

"Now my dear I have nothing on me at this time so I am going to have to return to my apartment and get some things. If we are going to be using the Fortune Teller's home as a base I think is be prudent for me to store some things there. So, we shall make a stop at my place while I change and of course you may change there yourself. Then, we shall go to the witch's home and deposit my belongings. And finally we shal return to the men, poor simple beings that they are. I feel it will be up to us to make sure that they do themselves no harm and to lead them as to the correct course of action from time to time. Although of course it must seem as though they are making the suggestions themselves of course."
She gives Anju a wink, drops her hand and leads her through the streets to her apartment, where she quickly changes into a figure hugging black suit, Caress sitting at her hip and a small black spell pouch sitting next to a larger pouch. She then hurriedly packs a small bag with some more belongings. She makes sure to check out Anju's figure as she is changing, raising an eybrow at her travel stained appearance, but appreciating the fine curves of her elven form.
Once they are done, they then returns to Zellara's and deposits her things. Once done, they head off to meet up with the men.

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

"And you are welcome to it my brawny friend. I myself shall bring up the rear and cover us from behind."
Elizabeth is starting to wish she had changed into pants and a shirt for their current foray, rather than staying in her dress.

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

Elizabeth sees the others approaching the rendezvous and gives them a nod. Once together she asks whether they found anything important. She then relates the details of the Harrow reading, sounding slightly skeptical as she does so.
"So it appears that Vancaskerin is possibly a pawn of a greater power. It also seems from what you relate about the butcher's shop that something may be not quite right with their produce. How does everyone want to handle this? Should we just all enter the shop and confront them, or should we come back at nightfall and try to sneak in and have a look around?"
She looks expectntly around the group, waiting to see who goes for which option as an exercise to judge their character.

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

"Well could that have been any more cryptic? I suppose it gave us some ideas to mull over, but nothing substantial. I agree with Branham, one straight answer is much better than a bunch of quarter answers."

Elizabeth takes another look at the cards in Arius' hands and thinks that maybe they're not as powerful as she first thought.

" So let's head out to the rendezvous and see what the others have discovered."

Better now guys. Swamped with work but back intot he swing of things. =)

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

Sorry guys, I am really sick atm. Please DMNPC me for at least the next day or so.

Garth Blacksteel wrote:
"Don't you think most of the guards that were closest to Vankaskerkin are the ones that defected with him?" asks Garth.

"Not necessarily dear. Sometimes it's good to have men on the inside. Plus not everyone who agrees with him will have had the opportunity or the inclination to skip out."

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

Diplomacy Check for Gather Information. (1d20+9=25)

Elizabeth heads off to flirt with some of the Guards, asking questions about why Vancaskerin would go rogue and who would most likely have contact with him. She makes it seem as though she is impressed by his strength of character, while not actually agreeing with what he's done. This makes her seem acceptable to both those who side with Vancaskerin and those who don't, so as not to get on anyone's bad side.

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

"So should we track down leads about shiver first, or try to bring in this Vancaskerin? My vote is for Vancaskerin, but I know Anju has a more personal stake in the shiver problem, so I would not be adverse to delving into that mystery either."
Elizabeth looks around the group, waiting for everyone's suggestions.

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

"Marshal Kroft. This Vancaskerin will be brought in to you and we will most certainly try our hardest to do so alive. 1,000 gold is so much more appealing than 500."

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

Sense Motive. (1d20+6=11)

Interesting Elizabeth thinks to herself, she actually looks to be truly sad. It must be a trick surely. The b!tch can't be that soft.

To the Queen, Elizabeth curtseys politely and says, "Thank you for your kindness Your Majesty. I offer you my condolences in your time of grief. We would be happy to assist you in any way possible." As long as it benefits me that is, she thinks to herself.

She then follows the others out of the room behind Sabina.

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

Invisible Castle is still down, so I followed Eric's lead and rolled the old fashioned way; Elizabeth has a +6 Modifier.
Knowledge (Local) (5 + 6 = 11)

Elizabeth is a little disheartened when she sees the woman take over, she won't be able to use her charms on her.

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

Elizabeth accepts Arius' offer of Prestidgitation, makes sure that her dress is as revealing as possible to help with any problems they may have with the Guards and then follows the others to Castle Korvosa.
Once there, she lets the brothers take point, while hanging back a little to assess the situation. She makes sure that she can be easily seen by the Guards and will step up to help if it looks like they are having problems.

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

Elizabeth smiles to herself at this last statement. It seems as though it was meant to be after all.

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

"Excellent, then count me in."

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

"Would we be paid for this consulting work?

as for hit points at levels, I usually have done it with a roll (bot DM and player rolls, take the higher of the two) If this sounds good we can do it that way, if not I'm open to ideas

Oh, I should probably roll then. Sorry, all my other PbPs just give max HP each level.

2nd Level Hit Points. (1d6=1)
Holy Good Gravy I hope you roll better than that!!! =(

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

Elizabeth follows Keth closely, using him to clear a path and slinking around anyone who does get in her way.

Arius Pelgane wrote:
Arius pales. "Wait, the King is dead? Do you know how it happened?"

"I'm not sure of the specifics. I heard people on the street gathering in groups and shouting about it. It looked like some of them were getting pretty rowdy and could very easily have caused a scene. If that's any indication of what the rest of the city is like, then it may get a little hectic out there."

She turns and addresses everyone.
"I wouldn't mind staying with you if you are going to be venturing onto the streets. I'd feel a lot safer in numbers."

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

Elizabeth follows Ox and Branham to the door and says, "alright, you boys make sure he gets to a good home now." She stays watching them until they turn around a corner, then heads back into the house to see the others.
"The streets out there are getting worse I think. They seem to be taking the death of the Old Man quite hard. Can't say I blame them really. Last thing we need is that b*~*~ taking over. Maybe we should all crash here for the night and see how things pan out. I for one wouldn't like to be caught out there on the streets if rioting starts." She looks around at the rag tag group. "That is of course unless you have something else in mind?"

Arius Pelgane wrote:

Arius swallows nervously at Elizabeth's approach, but at the mention of her father, he stiffens.

"Academaec certification is not a necessary prerequisite for magical skill. But you may look at the deck if you'd like. Fascinating though it is, I can't claim that it is my personal item."

"My impression from Zellara's last speech was that her ghost expected us to use the deck to 'defend Korvosa' somehow. I suggest that we not mention its unusual properties to other mages--particularly the Academae--to reduce the chance of thievery."

"Oh I know all too well that Academaec certification isn't everything it's cracked up to be. My father pressured me into my studies against my will, but that doesn't mean that I don't know a thing or two. I have no itntention of showing it to my father or any of his stuffy colleagues. I was offering to look at it myself. I am a novice, but I just thought that if noone else had any magical skills that I might be able to help. I will take a look at them after we see this piece of filth to the authorities. I only hope that they will be able to hold him and he doesn't pay his way out."

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

Elizabeth sways seductively up to Arius and looks greedily at the Harrow Deck.
"That is a fine magical item you have there. With one such as her living inside it it is sure to come in handy. Do you have the magical skill needed to properly handle it though I wonder. My father is an Instructor at the Acadamae and so I might be able to help you to understand it if you would like." She realizes that she is staring at it and slowly draws her eyes up to meet Arius', giving him an inviting smile. "Or not, the choice is entirely yours."
She gives him one last smile and then turns around and slinks away, following Ox and swaying her hips as she goes.

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

This is basically Elizabeth's introduction to the party. Feel free to respond if you like, or we can just head straight to Zellara's after someone mentions she might be able to help me with the Harrow Card. I'm happy for either. =)
Elizabeth hears that the others are going to take Lamm in to the authorities and suddenly bursts into the room, startling those inside, but heading straight for Lamm, with Caress held steadily before her.
"I can't believe you are going to turn this monster in after what you have just said he's done", she yells. "He deserves a long slow death, but I'd be happy to give him a quick one as compensation for what he's put me through."
She raises her arm to strike at Lamm, but as she sees the old man cower before her, her hand is stayed. "Hah, look at you, you're pathetic. You don't deserve the afterlife, you deserve to rot forever in a filthy jail cell." She turns to the others. "Take him to the authorities, but I want to be there when you do."
She prods Caress into lamm's back to get him moving towards the others and then introduces herself. "My name is Elizabeth and my father is a prominent Wizard at the Acadamae. I was ther under his tutelage until this piece of filth decided to implicate me in one of his crimes. I was cleared, but the social stigma attatched drove my father to kick me out to live on the streets and to not return until I could prove myself to him. This worm has cost me everything and I meant to see him pay for it, whether in all his coin or his life. I will have to be satisfied however with whatever justice the city deems fit to bestow on him."
She thinks for a moment and then says to herself, but so the others can hear, "Then I must try to find out about that Harrow Card I found on the half-orc and what it has to do with me. It obviously had some magic to it... I wonder who I could see about it?"

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

Spoiler:
What Harrow card was it Cap?
Elizabeth heads down the stairs into the hold of the boat. Once there, she notices the open door leading out onto the walkway. She walks slowly along the walkway and peers cautiously into the area through the door. She hears raised voices and so creeps slowly around the edges of the room to better hear what is being said.
Stealth. (1d20+8=21)
Perception (Listen). (1d20+6=15)

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

Spoiler:
Elizabeth grabs the key from the Gnome's body and does a quick search of the bodies (Perception (1d20+6=7)) but comes up with nothing. She cautiously makes her way from room to room until she reaches the large room at the rear of the building. (Sorry Cap I can't find that map, the only links I could find no longer have anything there, so I'm just gonna look at the map from my copy of Edge of Anarchy, hope you don't mind) Basically she moves from A4, A5, A6, A7, A8. Once there, she notices the ship against the building through the crusted over windows and heads back up the stairs into A6, then out to A3 and down onto the boat.

Cheliax (Female Human Wizard (Conjuror) 1 Rogue 2)

Elizabeth narrows her eyes at the Fishery across the road.
"Looks like someone has beaten me here. I hope they haven't killed that bastard before I get a chance to exact some revenge."
Looking around the street, she cautiously walks over to the front door, Caress held out before her and a spell ready on her lips in case there is trouble.
Looking through the door, she sees a run down entry hall that looks like it has seen better days. She takes note of the dog's corpse on the floor as she continues cautiously into the bowels of the Fishery.

not problem.

Cap, I put the background up. I'll put the rest of the stats up when I get another chance.

Just a quick question:

Spoiler:
I am starting at 2nd level, so what starting cash do I get? Normal 1st level starting cash, or 2nd level cash as stated in the wealth by level chart? Just asking, not worried either way.

dang..so we may need a rogue....well Elizabeth looks to be a Rogue/Conjuror...so it depends on how many levels rogues she wants to take...I may have to multiclass rogue/ranger if we dont end up with anyone solid...Id rather not though.

She is primarily a Charismatic Rogue, with a few levels of Conjuror thrown in here and there. When I finally get around to entering her backstory you'll see why.

Wizard spells will all be buff or utility spells, so don't expect any heavy backup in the DPS Department... as a matter of fact, Evocation is one of her Schools of Opposition.

Hi everyone.

I will be joining your little group very soon and look forward to playing with you all. =)

Cap: I will get Elizabeth statted up and written out ASAP. Just let me know when and where you want to introduce her.
