I already have it
Wed, Jun 3, 2009, 12:06 PM
A reissue of some material appearing in the Dark Side and Power of the Jedi sourcebooks, with little and uniteresting additions.
Poor.

The future is here!

The most complete and self-contained campaing guide up to date (although it has a few missings in the personnel of the factions).
The Legacy Destiny rules are one of the highs of the book really seizing the tone and feel of the setting.

4,5 in fact

A very complete guide covering the prequels and the Clone Wars series (up to date).
The guide does not reprint Clone Wars related material appearing in other supplements, instead it has an index table indicating the book in wich a certain character, vehicle or droid appears.
Im my opinion, what prevents this guide to be 5 star rated is the same promblem as with the other era guides: too many rules, few background.

At last we have the screen

The best RPG screen I’ve ever bought. Four panelled, grand amplitude for GM’s to hide material, and low height to better see over it.
A good compilation of tables with great distribution (although I would have ordered the actions by type instead of alphabetically) printed in thick and very resistant cardboard.
The low point is the artwork on the front, although is in line with the outlook of the core rulebook, it seems poor and uninspiring for a GM’s screen.

Incomplete

Threats of the Galaxy intends to be a Monster Manual for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game, but it fails in its intention and organization.
The list of character archetypes are excessively long, repetitive and lacking of flavour (especially for the Imperial Knights and Mandalorians).
The section on creatures and droids complements those presented in the core rulebook, but I feel that these categories deserve a book on their own for the shake of completeness and easiness of reference.
A useful book for the time being until other more in depth supplements appear.

Faster and more intense

In this new edition the rules had become simpler and faster, allowing to play really smooth games, with a highly cinematic feeling.
It has fixed the majority of the unbalancing factors of the other two previous d20 versions and although it may seem simple at first sight, the system permits enough customization, so that you hardly get tired of it.
Special note deserve the skills, which are easy to use and now the characters had a more balanced suite of them.
The reduced size makes for easy reading and carrying.
On the bad size, is the poor artwork, they had just picked illustrations from old Star Wars d20 supplements (which many aren’t the best) and scattered them throughout the book. I really miss some new artwork, and more film pictures.

Metal rules!

This is in my humble opinion one of the coolest Star Wars miniature ever sculpted.
The high level of detail in face and head helps creating a really threatening expression, the way the robes flap, combined with a fantastic pose adds a great deal of dynamism to the miniature. The bad note is that the blades and the hilt of the lighsaber are almost flat, making it look more like a two-bladed sword, rather than a two-bladed lighsaber.
You should notice that the miniature comes with a square base, not a round one as shown in the photo.
A really good chance to get a fabulous Darth Maul miniature, and a collectors item at a price much lower than SWM´s.
The Star Wars metal miniatures by Wizards were amazing, I would be very glad if Paizo could offer more products of this line.
