Definitely dotting this for later. Would you be okay with one of the Psionic kineticist archetypes from Psionics Augmented: Kineticists, provided I can get information procured for you? The short story of it is a summoning kineticist, using Astral Constructs, but I can definitely find you a link.
I've been using the dreamscarred Psionics materials since they were released, and the 3.5e Psionics system before that. I've got a pretty solid grasp on most of the classes, though I'm not as familiar with, say, cryptics.
Hmmmm...... I've got an idea I think is interesting, combining Barbarian, Variant Multiclassing Oracle with the Bones mystery, the Spirit Totem line of rage powers.... I'll have to see what I can actually put together, and how viable it might be, but I have high hopes, if nothing else. I'll get some crunchy stuff, or at least try it out, in the morning, provided Variant Multiclassing is okay.
I am certainly potentially interested. Are you adverse to Third Party Products? Specifically, I'm curious about Dreamscarred Press, I'd like to play, I think, a Knight-Chandler Mystic from their Path of War:Expanded book, focused on Solar Wind, maybe some Tempest Gale and Elemental Flux alongside. If you don't like Path of War, but are still open to Dreamscarred Press, a Soulbolt would certainly cover the job of "Ranged Damage Dealer," I should think.

I'll put these on my character sheet somewhere when I get home, but: +1 Armor doesn't appear to need a spell, I assumed it didn't need a power, either, just 3x Bonus ML from the creator. Belt of Constitution and Headband of Charisma are both derived from Animal Affinity psionic power, and the resistance cloak is derived from the FOrtify power.
I could have sworn I sent you a PM with images taken from the Psionics Augmented: Soulknives, with the entirety of the Brutality Blade archetype?
I don't get any bonus power points from Brutality Blade or anything, anyway, and my Blade Skills are both available at 2, if I'm not mistaken. At least, according to Ultimate Psionics, I don't know if Errata has been issued for Freezing Bolt or something, but Focused Offense has always been intended to get Wisdom Focused soulknives off the ground at 2.
When I get home, I'll divide those bonuses, no problem.
I knew I had forgotten to post something in that recruitment thread. I've got a background written for him somewhere, I'll find it when I get home.
Personally, I've never been fond of "needing" healing in any capacity, anyway. Not having a heavy bruiser-type is a little more worrisome, but I've been through some strange games, I think we can make it work. :)
What shall be your answer to the Shifter from Eberron? Just use skinwalkers, or some sort of conversion? While I said psionics earlier I'm actually kind of interested in playing a shifter of some sort. Specifically, I was thinking either Unshackled Rager or Moonlight Meditant from The Lords of the Wild Playtest , from Dreamscarred Press.

I had forgotten how disproportionate the stat allocation was for this game. 10/10/12/13/18/18 is quite the array. That's a shame, I wanted to spread them out a bit more. I've got a basic statblock, sans gear, that I can post whenever, and with that, I think, Arthur "Art" Coleda is finished other than some more fleshing out.
I've just realized what time it is, and I've got to get ready for work. When I get home tonight, I'll do whatever last minute finagling I need for the sheet, as well as some fleshing out of Art, the Coleda clan, small though it is, and anything else I might need, mdt. If anything comes to mind, just let me know :)
Yeah, that's the issue I was having. I made a Blade Adept//Inspired Blade, but I couldn't really get into the character. I briefly considered dipping into Magus for Spell Combat and Broad Study, but if I don't feel strongly about the character to begin with (Especially with such fierce competition), it doesn't make too much of a difference.
It feels like my first idea, at least for this campaign, was a little overzealous, but I'd like to keep with the same theme. I think I'd like to mix up melee and ranged combat, together, by taking the Brutality Blade archetype, but I'd be focusing on ranged combat with the Soul Archer prestige. The Brutality Blade, if you don't have it, has a lower base enhancement bonus overall, but gradually gain the ability to push the mind blade a bit farther than a regular mind blade, albeit for a limited number of rounds per day, as per barbarian. They can also pick up a few archetype-specific blade skills, but otherwise, they use Charisma for soulknife-related things, and that's about it. Now that I look at it.... the Rage Blade class feature itself doesn't seem to be advanced by classes that advance mind blades. This bodes poorly, but I'm sure it wouldn't end up being /that/ big a deal, just a bit of missed opportunity.
Nonetheless, I think that's the direction I'd like to take, mechanically. Fluffwise, I think I'd like to be a minor clansman of the Celestradan Halvavians, looking to prove his worth to the clan proper and increase the rank, wealth, and fame of his family, one way or another.
I still haven't really been able to get a full submission together I felt strongly about. The Inspired Arcanist is kinda neat, but not terribly interesting, being an exaggerated magus without spell combat, and I can't think of any particularly meaningful backstory stuff for it. I had a few other ideas banging around in my head, but the same issue of "I can't see a place in this setting where they'd fit in /and/ be a valid choice for this campaign" pops up. Y'all have fun, it looks like Samnell's gonna make this quite a ride. :)

No worries. I think the only way I'm going to be weaving culverin shots into full attacks, if selected, will be before or after melee attacks, anyway. Rapid reload only brings a reload down to a standard action, and I believe alchemical rounds would further reduce that to a move action. While that allows for a shot per round, so does the beneficial bandolier.
My plan is to be a mixture of consistent melee damage, rogue skills, and a bit of face, at the very least the defensive half via Sense Motive. Once Studied Combat comes online at level 4, Udo will be super accurate in combat, especially with Swift Study, so I'll likely be adding in some of the Investigator Talents that debuff on-hit on studied targets, for a little bit of debuffing without an extra action cost.
It's a tough choice between infusion and mutagen for me at level 3. Actually, now that I think of it...I could take both. Underworld Inspiration is also tempting for me... Too many good choices, I'm amazed I've never looked at Investigator before.
Alright, just wanted to make sure a Culverin wouldn't be hugely out of place to begin with.
One last question: Would you be willing to allow for an alchemical cartridge specifically made for the culverin, priced somewhere around 4 times the cost of a regular alchemical round? As-is, culverin requires 4 doses of black powder and 4 handfuls of pellets.
I put all this in an edit a little farther up, but it would likely be signficantly more visible in a post of its own.

Right now, I'm thinking something along the lines of Viktor having sought out Zummabu, on one hand attempting to learn proper wizardry, though his borderline recklessness and haste lead him to cast a tad bit off the cuff compared to a wizard, and trying to find any information regarding his family heirlooms, the rapier and buckler he wields, nonmagical (as far as he knows) relics of an age long past. (The buckler really is, and will continue to be, nonmagical, lest he get it enchanted. Might go crazy thinking some ancient relative is speaking to him through the sword once he hits three, though.) Would that be a decent fit, once more thoroughly fleshed out?
Also: Do you mind if I paid the difference in cost between the Masterwork Rapier granted by Blade Adept and a gold-plated version? I don't see any real issues, it's 40gp for a slightly more fancy sword, but I figured I ought to run it past you regardless.
I wouldn't call them free, but the spontaneous casting is awfully nice, and who /doesn't/ want a dinosaur hanging around?
Finally, since it was asked, I would prefer to stick to Paizo material for the initial applications just so that I don't have to go reading through 3rd party books I don't even own in order to figure out what kind of a character you've got and how they will fit into...
That's definitely not a problem, it almost certainly fits better that my character retain the poison abilities from Investigator, anyway, given the backstory I've already got written up.
Former hurricane, as of now at least. Post-tropical cyclone, I think they call it. All I've really got now is wind, and power will most likely be returned today or tomorrow.
A couple things: as far as a character goes, I'm thinking a Blade Adept Arcanist//Inspire Blade Swashbuckler going towards fencing grace and pseudo-magus status.
That said, I'm now posting from my phone; hurricane Matthew has knocked out my power, and while I don't expect it to be super long, I could very easily be wrong. Hopefully I'll be back up and running soon enough to actually get to my books and stuff, and make a coherent character with both fluff and crunch. If not: Have fun, those that make it in!

It looks like the playtest document has been updated, with the archetype I was planning on using completely having been removed. How unfortunate. I'll spend a bit of time figuring out another concept, since I don't really anticipate poisoning being (for me) fun nor particularly reliable enough to focus on otherwise.
However, I think I've found a suitable alternative, in the Cannoneer archetype for Marksman. Swinging around a Culverin as a greatclub, when I'm not blasting it in the faces of my enemies, sounds perfectly pirate-y to me, and I've got some ideas for backstory rattling around in my head. I'll get an actual submission together in the next day or so. Whether I'm chosen or not, I'm already liking the sounds of this character.
That could be an interesting dynamic, if both of us are picked, TPK. I wouldn't anticipate too much overlap, either. It seems like you'd be more focused on a blasty sort of Kineticist, while I'd be much more of a Bruiser-y, in your face sort of role, even if I'm not the one taking the beating. I like it, not that that makes a heck of a lot of difference in the scheme of things.
DM Voice! I definitely like the idea of a pirate game, and I definitely remember enjoying your games before things exploded in my life and I had to leave the forums behind. No idea what I'd want to play, but I'm definitely interested.
I was, among others probably, Ignac Takacs, the graveknight armiger in your Envoy of Geb campaign. I just got back onto the forums, actually. Been a few years.
