Thanks!

Does anyone know which issue of Dragon the swarm familiars were in? My magazines are all in storage and it would help to know which box to look in. Thanks!

Sorry... someone had to do that to break the tension in here. :-)

LOL!!!

I really like Downer. Especially the not-quite-Jerry Lee Lewis look and the dark humor.
I do like old school fantasy, Leiber, Tolkein, etc. However I also really enjoy Eberron and the newer fantasy. ;)

Flex dem creative muscles! I actually really enjoy your adventure maps as well. They tend to be very concise, easy to read, and stand on their own as part of the artwork of the issue.
Well done and I hope to see your work for quite some time to come!

Yes!!! I loved Lords of Madness!

Class Acts has got to go.

Personally, I like Class Acts. If for nothing else, the support for Unearthed Arcana included therein is generally appreciated.

I bet the delay is just to fuel posts on this thread to see if it can overcome the post count on my 'Failed Wil Save' thread ;-)

Just doing my part! ;)

Mr. Jacobs, you should have seen their faces! I asked for a moment of silence, then broke into a eulogy. When my players realized that I was holding a memorial for a D&D character their collective jaws dropped. We had fun at our session afterwards, but afterward they were still shaking their heads in bemusement! lol

It's true.

Whoo-hoo!

Mr. Jacobs, today during my groups gaming session I plan on having a moment of silence for poor Chuko. (This will also reinforce my unpredictability, lol).
I also have a question. In my gaming groups we have always asked before using anyones character for our own purposes. I don't know when, but my group is going to start an Eberron game that I can play in rather than DM. May I use a chance encounter with Chuko (pre-chopping) for the background of my poison-dusk bard of doom?

*Sniff sniff* Poor Chuko! In remembrance I give a hearty WARK!!!

That said... I'd really like to read an article about proto-devils.

Who knows, if we don't see anything soon I might do my own write-up and send in a submission. ;)

I like your reply! Well worded sir. No, most gamers tend a have a bit or arrogance and a lot of tomfoolery! It is what makes them so much fun to game master (DM).

Thanks, luckily my group doesn't seem to mind either! ;)

How about some Devils? I know it's called the Demonomicon, but ...

It seems that demons get WAAAAAY more treatment than devils ... I'm running a campaign circling around Levistus (and his attempts to get free), and there are precious few monsters, articles, and details on the Baatorians ...

On that note, how about the mysterious pre-devil natives of Baator and the non-taanari demons. We've seen a few non-taanari, but there have only been rumors of the pre-devils.

My list is Sess'inek, Dagon, Mandrillagon (just because the Shackle got me up to baboon badness), and Mak Thuum Ngatha. I know that the Nine-tongued Worm isn't a demon, but I 'would' still like to see a work up somewhat more detailed than in Lords of Madness. Just a thought.

My group convinced Ragnolin to 'look the other way' with some very fancy roleplaying and some amazing Diplomacy. Unfortunately, I had one of the cultist guards warn the temple while they were roleplaying. The rivalry between the high priests has kept them from overtly supporting each other thus far. They entered the Labyrinth first (we are using the Shadow rather than Vecna) and after several ambushes captured a kenku and managed to convert it to the Traveller (it still fits the kenku's alignment and philosphy, but is easier for them to convince the kenku to help them. Blast the PCs' insane social skills! ;) All in all, my players seem to be having fun. In fact two of them have told me that they enjoy this better than Shackled City. Then again, the exploding treasure in SC dimmed their rogueless enthusiasm back then by quite a bit! lol

yes I am proud to be a female gamer ;-)

I will also raise the mug in salute. My current group is all male, and while they are great roleplayers, in the groups where we were joined by female gamers they usually brought a fresh perspective and a wonderful sense of 'role'playing rather than 'roll'playing.

Four 1st level characters will face a difficult time unless they are either very experienced players or brilliant min-maxers..

My players are both. ;)

Most of my Dragon's are in storage. I can't remember what the Psi-spell feats are what the level progresion and abilities are. Could someone please help?

I like the TPK idea. My players are really savvy and know how to make nasty PCs and use their abilities accordingly. I also enjoy the 'monster a month'. Something new and unpleasant to surprise PCs with? Yes!!! Another idea could be The Masters. Some of the innovative designers could briefly expand on their creations, much as Mr. Cordell did with the Far Realms a few months ago in Dragon. I loved that article!

And, I find about 45% of the gamers are arrogant and thinks the world revolves around them (sorry if I offend any of you).

Not offended in the mildest. I do tend to be arrogant. I'm just aware of that. ;)

Hear,Hear! When I finally can Subscribe! ;)

Hehe, that is great!

The Overload will be when it will be. I mainly wanted to say something that does not seem to be said quite enough, thank you for all of the hard work and excellent material. It is greatly appreciated that the folks at Dungeon and at Dragon go above and beyond. (Such as actually providing free on-line supplements.)

Hey, I'm running the Eberron variant. We have:
Daniel Trask NG Human Fighter (Foster son of the Garrison commander)
Ucho LN Human Druid
Nit NE Changeling Ninja
Kalishharath CN Kalashtar Psion (telepath)
Dren d'Therashk NE Human Sorcerer (dragonmarked)
Jason N Human Fighter

Jason joined the group late, and Kalish' has missed part of the adventure, it has gone fairly well though.

My group consists of a human fighter, a human druid, a changeling ninja, a dragonmarked human sorcerer, a kalashtar telepath, and another (more recently added) human fighter. They are almost through The Whispering Cairn and have had no fatalities, although they've had many near misses. ;)
Their toughest fight thus far has been with Kullen, the kalashtar was not there. The changeling was studying them for an infiltration when the sorcerer attempted to stare down Kullen. By the end of the fight, one fighter, the sorcerer, and the ninja were bleeding out. After stabilizing his teammates, the druid stabilized Kullen's gang so that they could take them to the garrison. The wizard's ferret escaped, ensuring an eventual escape. Currently they have just tooled Filge, although the sorcerer is diseased from the Tomb mote. It's been a fun, challenging adventure. Even though the sorcerer is slowly learning not to kick down doors (he usually plays barbarians!)

I just began running "The Whispering Cairn" for my players and while they grumbled at first about 'more first level PCs', they are having a blast.

**SPOILER**

The one-person elevators are awesome! The first one down had just finished gutting a wolf with his halberd. When the empty elevator came up, blood splattered across the inside, the other players obviously were much more nervous. (I had the other players leave the room. When the elevator dropped he stated that he thrashed in panic and screamed, thus throwing wolf blood everywhere and giving us a great half-hour of creepy roleplaying. "What happened to the fighter?") All said, well done!

Personally, I rather enjoyed 'Will Save' and will be sad to see it go. I don't have a family of my one as of yet, and Mr. Wheaton's article let me see a family man and a gamer being true to himself and his responsibilities. That said, I also found him to be amusing and insightful. Too late now, unfortuneately. However, do not get rid of Kyle Hunter! Downer is hilarious. I enjoy many things central to the magazine, but that doesn't mean that I want to lose the additional content.
