Spoiler:
Justin has seen these abominations on the streets of Sigil. It is a Nabasu, a particularly nasty demon. Justin has heard that they fear cold iron and good-aligned weapons. He has also heard they have a natural resistance to arcane energy. So I will need a caster check on all spells cast... It takes a lot to bring them down, as their bodies are forged in some of the most inhospitible places on the Great Wheel.

Would it be possible to drop her into the negatives and not kill her? I realize that a greatsword isn't really a surgeon's scalpel, but maybe I can hold back a little so she doesn't die completely? Your call, Pat.

Well, according to the rules, she is now at under 0 but not total -CON dead. So as Miracle Max once said, she is 'mostly dead.' I will calculate the math on that and give you a timeline, but you will have some rounds at least to do something. However, you still have her low-level, yet pesky, skeleton mooks about you ...

SEEELAH GIBRAAAAH!

Ekuur scsreams and runs at the creature, trikal burning bright. It bounds off the demon's hide, seemingly with no effect

Ekuur:

Demons as a rule hate cold iron and good-aligned weapons. Spells can be tricky, as they have a natural immunity to arcane force.

Meanwhile, at the other side of the battle...

The red-haired woman (Issac can see she is a tiefling-her hair swings about to reveal two small horns on the forehead) geustures at Issac. Issac's greatsword catches her in the belly in mid guesture. She looks surprised, as her blood coats Issac's sword in an icy red rime.

It had two rounds worth of actions. It held its action on rd three until most people were distracted by the dretch (which was kind of the dretch's function. And it could sneak up on the main party. As a courtesy, since you rolled a '20' and 'confirmed' it on Perception, I ruled its invisibility droppped for just a second and you could see the creature. I even gave you the thing's name. I didn't have to do that, it was an adjutation in your favor. The two actions it did, one is a spell-like ability, the other is a free action (the eye gaze attack). OK...Think I know what is going on...

Issac sees the woman peering about next to her skeleton friends. He swipes at her with his frigid sword. The icy blade cuts into her leg, drawing a red gash along her thigh.

The woman bares her teeth at the newly-visible Issac and gestures.

She was holding her action to see what you would do. You get an attack of opportunity and a chance to disrupt her casting

The demon points at Karrin and a black ray erupts from its clawed hand.

She popped a Glitterdust assuming you'd be headed towards her. I am going to take into account that you said you were going to take cover behind the bark a bit and grant you patrial cover. So take +2 to AC and +1 reflex. Also, make me a DC 16 Will save vs. Blinding effect. Also, I am going to adjutate that you have a 50% chance of not getting glittered because of your cover, so roll me a D100.

Just as the group breathes a bit easier after the dretch falls, a voice sounding like iron scrap dropped on a stone floor intones a loud word:

BAHRGRAAAAM!

A nighmare form blinks into view. It is twelve-feet tall, long-fanged, spike-covered, with two large leathery batwings outstretched. It is the epitome of demon. The creature gestures at the party.

The demon is casting a Mass Hold Person. I need a DC 21 Will save from the effect from Ekuur, Justin, Nari, Rhiannon and Karrin. Quinn just made it outside the effect's radius.

Whereever the arrows were coming from, they've stopped now.

Turning the corner he sees eight skeletons dropping bows and drawing wicked-looking scimitars. The skeletons are of a better quality than Issac is used to seeing, more on a par of what the Dustmen might have in their entourages. They wear plain but well-kept chain shirts and their weapons look well-made. Wires hold the various bones together, to augment the necromantic animation. The webbing was actually her round 2 action when she won a tied stealth/Perception roll. (I know, 39 and she tied, I had to get an impartial GM ruling on that from my fellows online). Dretch: 15 [Running]
Karrin: 14 [Pending]
Justin: 14 [Fire and electricity-prepped-pending]
Naridre: 14 [bowing-concealment (need coordinate)]
Ekuur: 11 [pending]
Rhiannon: 11 [Donning gear]
Mystery Arrow shooters: 6 [bowing]

I am going to assume Rhiannon wasn't sleeping totally strapped in..so she is hurreidly putting her gear on

The first wisps of Dretch stench can be picked up as the spindly demons howl and run full tilt for the patch of foggy darkness the party is located under. Merle and Seph scurry off quietly, using the deeply-seamed bark as cover. Nari activates her tattoo, the small mark blurring her form in a nimbus of translucent energy. Quinn stands at the ready with his crossbow, finishing a set of prayers and looking stern with faith. Issac stands ready after casting his striding spell.

Perception: 1d20+15

Isaac does something he's never done before- he starts casting a spell. Longstrider- my speed goes up to 40 feet for one hour. Going to hold on the move action until I have perception check results.

Issac:

Spoiler:
Whatever things are running towards them are short, with spindly legs. Issac has a sinking feeling he remembers these little buggers from that dustup on the Outlands. Dretches

OK, starting off. Assume you got your actions off. This stuff is happening after.

The arrows come out of the darkness, not precisely aimed, but more of a blanketing pattern. The foggy darkness the group is enfolded in becomes rife with buzzing shafts as the yard-long arrows thunk into Yggdrasil about them

Who got hit: 1d8 ⇒ 3

Merle feels a burning sensation as one of the randomly-loosed shafts burns a bloody trail down her lift bicep. It doesn't stick in, though the wound feels horrible.

No extra damage, so just 8 hp done

The group can hear running footsteps out in the darkness, but between the mist and the darkness and the time of evening it is darker than a tarrasque's gullet around them.

Issac:

Spoiler:
Issac, being free of the darkness and mist effects, sees several dark figures break cover and start running towards the groupPerception roll please
