Great intro-Mod

4/5

As a GM, you need to have fun with this mod, and emphasize the different flavorings of the factions.
The pacing is good, and there are many opportunities to role-play. I ran it for five brand new players to RPGs, ages 8-13.

In Service to Lore spoiler-action:
The Paladin was NOT happy to meet the Chelaxian ParaContessa since his 'detect evil' went 'ping-ping-ping!' But what happened next made up for it: Poor imp rolled a '3' init, preistess zapped em, monk hit him, and the Paladin Smote him with a critical, using his great-sword - Jinkies Batman, one twained Imp!

The whole party has high perceptions, causing the final battle to happen sooner that it should have. The Berserker hobbit failed his check to notice that they spotted him once again. The priest and witch used disguise self and circled round him through the crowd, then the monk failed his stealth vs perception check, causing the retreating baddy to run into the encircling PCs. The three of them made short work of them. His compatriots noticed and the grand battle started. The enemy sorceress was the first to fall, followed by their leader-cleric. The Rouge took off, only to be snagged by the witches 10' hair.
The short witch lost on her opposed grapple check and was being dragged behind. Her dino familiar got a hit, but Rouge just made his save vs. poison.
Happily for the witch, the Monk caught up, and made short work of the rogue.

I think the group enjoyed meeting Don Scarzi. I played him with the 'Brando Voice' and he was pleased to exchange favors with an offer they couldn't refuse.

These kids did better than I did with my groups both times I went through, and I've been gaming for more decades than I'd like to admit - lol
