Steel_Wind wrote: ...A better - and far easier - way for Windows users is to use a purpose built application like TableTop Mapper. Oh my, thanx for this link! It's really cool and works good! Yeah, we tried the projector thing! We didn't play during this evening, just looking how we would operate the whole thing! The only problem is, we have no good hold for the projector and this thing (an old one) is damn loud!!!
But if we get our hands on a newer one, this is defeniately the way to play! And I don't have to erase the maps after every encounter, and no one will put coffe-stains on my maps ;)
By the way, we put a big sheet of white paper on the table (got it from a paper-producing firm (right word?) so that we were able to write something "on the map"! This worked very well!!!

i noticed with these particular players that they are very good at min/maxing, this bothers me mainly because they become so focused on "he can't!!no way!,huh-uh!,but, i have this, this and this!!" or,simply whining when attacked by an intelligent creature that actually thinks before attacking, i can already hear the arguments coming...
what do you fellow dm's do to let players understand that your not being "evil" your just playing monsters as they should be?
Just a hint: If you already have min/max players, be very careful when running a FR campaign! I love the realms, but I don't use it as the high-magic (sometimes monty haul) setting it is. A lot of npcs in the FRCS have damn good magical stuff and (as players most of the time defeat the npc) they might end up with a lot of stuff. You wrote that you are a experienced DM and I don't want to offend you with this tip (I am sure you already gave a thought to this), but I made this mistake with my first FR campaign and will never do this again!
Dagda and Medesha are both right here with their tips! Roll the dice openly and tell them it's written in the module! They might complain at first (for sure) but after a while they will trust you, even if you now roll the dice behind a screen!
Another hint: If you show them off, don't laugh or grin at them, because they might get the feeling you are working against them! If you stay cool and honest, your players will stop complaining after a while!
I have to agree with Medesha as well! Too much adventures? Never had this thought!!!
Since I have to work time is getting real short and there'S no better source for ideas and high quality material to throw at your pcs then Dungeon!
Its so much easier to come up with an adventure of your own if you have so much sources that Dungeon provides!
Raoul_Duke is right as well that most adentures which you can find online a crap... And Dungeons Art&Cartography is still searching for someone who might best them ;)
And even if I don't use an adventure at all, it's almost always a fun read!
Well, I think everyone agrees, that this is a very NICE adventure...
My pcs just finished off some of the drowned ones, and are now discussing if they want to go to the wreck of the Tammeraut.
My question here is: Who of you have played it already and cann tell me, if it will be too hard for a party of four 5th level pcs to encounter Tammeraut himself together with the two drowned ones monks in the unhallow effect?
I think my group can handle this, but I am not sure.
Any input is appreciated!
Just one question? Would it be possible to get a download with all the monster-tokens in it? I missed a lot of those dungeon issues and i use them more than miniatures (I hate to buy a box of minis without knowing if the one I need is inside - never understood why WotC don't sell them in bundles to make it easier to get what you want) - anyway -
Maps (FOR THE PLAYERS) would be cool as well!
By the way - it's good to see Erik Mona visiting this board, because it gives me the feeling you (PAIZO) are listening to us!!! Thanx for that!

Hey Sean!
Thanx for the review! I will buy issue #115 anyway but it helps a little bit if you already know where the weaker points are...
You're are right with your opinions about the adventure path, but hey - I NEVER bought or even heard of a module/official adventure which is absolutely perfect! At least gone are the times, where I always wondered where some of the npcs got their values from (especially in 2E)...
Anyway, Paizos website is great in sharing opinions about Dungeon (especially for me here in germany, where I am the only one of my friends reading Dragon and Dungeon regularly).
The new installment of Cauldron will work as well, even if it's AGAIN with a lot of work for the DM. However, I am happy, that we have the adventure path and I am looking forward for the next one!
The problem with Strike on Shatterhorn night be, that (as far as I know) Paizo divided the last part of the series, because it would be too big for one issue. Maybe the hook got lost in the process of dividing it... juts a thought!
Most of all I miss pictures of the npcs! Would be great to have a little pic for every character. Its easier to show them to my players than to start a lengthy explanation (my players normally don't listen to this anyway ;)
Oh man, Fletch, you're reading my mind.
THAT would be beyond all my dreams as a DM!!!
Hey, ERIK - can you make dreams come true ;) ???
Hi Steel_Wind!
I think you refer to Dungeon issue#113 (the one with the first Eberron adventure and the BIG MAP of Khorvaire).
On page 12, the letter titled "BEST GAMING SETUP EVER" is what I think you are searching...
Yeah, this sounds very cool, but as well very expensive! We tried it once but couldn't suspend the projector over our gaming table! Anyway, I hope you will fare better! Have fun!!!
If I would know such a thing would be printed, I would wait in front of my retailer every day to get my copy of it!!!
And here in germany I would have to wait a little longer than you lucky guys ;)

Hi there! Again - great Site!!!
What I want to see in Dragon?! Ok, here it is:
1) ITEM TOKENS
This would be so cool. Two years ago I started to give my players little pics of the items they find. So they get a better feel for it. The loved it from the beginning and we had now more "double-items" in the group, because someone lent an item to another player and suddenly it appeared on both character-sheets. After a while we couldn't recap if both had a potion of X or if there had been only one...
I also had a player who wouldn't give away his +1longsword in order to replace it with a +3longsword!!! Why? He loved the picture of the +1sword and thought it more fitting to his pc...
So, Item Tokens would be really great! (like the monster tokens you had once!)
2) SHEETs
Monster sheets, Combat sheets, NPC sheets, etc... to copy and use during game!
3) An article about how to fight monsters when you have no weapons! What kind of things could help you, when you are surprised during a big festival and happen to be without armor and weapons... I ask for this, because as a player I came two times into such a situation and we all had a hard time to cope with the monsters attacking us... Just want to know if there is more to this topiv than the chair, table, chandellier, etc...
So, that's all for now! Keep up your wonderfull work on the magazine!!!
Finally, we "Dungeon Maniacs" have our site were we don't have to wait for answers from other readers until the next issue's out!
Just want to say thanx to PAIZO and that these boards a a great way to share some experiences and get/give some help in preparing the adventures from the magazine! I once wrote a letter to dungeon, asking for a part in the magazine, were readers could share their experiences while playing through the adventures... well, now it's not in the magazine, but here and that's as good, isn't it!
I hope, I will find a lot of hints/tips and reports on how my fellow DMs get along with the adventures of Dungeon!
Yep, Lazybones is right. Those are the replacements you should do. However, to get a somewhat different feel for te whole Cauldron campaign, I just used the goods as they are. My players, of course, recognized them as Greyhawk deities, but had a lot of fun. I sticked to St. Cuthbert and the others, because I felt that my players got a little tired of having Lathander again as the good one etc...
As long as there are worshippers in an area/world/sphere/plane the deity should have influence and be able to grant the spells to his worshippers.
Using the Greyhawk gods gave the AP-Series this little "something" it needed, to set it apart from my normal FR campaigns...
I play it in the FR.
I placed Cauldron in the Neverwinter Wood. North of Waterdeep and East of Neverwinter!
This Forrest might seem a bit small, but I just made it bigger on my maps and there we go. Even a vulcano is positioned in the wood on the original map.
So I have a bigger city away from Cauldron, a vulcano and a lot of forrest with hills, etc... Just didn't made the forrest a jungle and used ankhegs instead of dinosaures "behind the Lucky Monkey".
Hope this helps...
Well, first of all I love the Adventure Path Series and my Players feel very at home in Cauldron.
However, I jzst have finished Flood Season and my players were far away from Level6. So I have thrown in the adventure TAMMERAUT'S FATE to get them to level6 for the Umber Hulk. They loved this little pearl of an adventure and it made y good addition to the adventure path series.
IMC the players managed to get Sacrem resurrected. When I am thinking about the next installemants I sometimes really think those will be overpowered and anihilate my group, but then - I had encounters were I thought the same and my group managed to get away without a scratch.
I am very excited about the Demonskar Legacy (I loved to prepare it) and Lords of Oblivion! Those are great adventures!
