So let me get this strait that in a constantly changing infinite plane of Chaos and Discord that there can only be an even number of Proteans as in just four and can't be more? Why in the world would they not make anymore Aeons? I am not a fan of Psychopomps, just another outsider group that deals with mortal souls and we have those in spades.
I would prefer the hellboy II version for tooth faeries but would like stats for the fey from Don't Be Afraid of the Dark remake. Fomorians are nothing like cave giants in myth and the firbolgs are fey that look like giants(well giant scotts or irish).
Construct creature(s) that cannot stand the presence of organic life. More creatures from the positive energy plane that can...
More non-evil aberrations. More non-evil light based creatures. Creatures from the dimension of dreams that can...
Creatures from the dimension of time that can...
More monsters that alter matter, baleful polymorph, petrification, turn lead into gold, etc. Creatures that can create specific types of magic items without feats, spells, etc. something like a fey that can make X amount of potions or an outsider that can forge any weapon, etc. More monsters with alchemist related abilities. A monster with an animal companion or familiar without class levels. A monster with X-ray vision. More supernaturally quick monsters with base land speeds at a 100+ A creature that can see in infra-red like predator. A creature who pretends to be in danger, rewards those that help it but curses those that ignore it or try to hurt it. Magical book worm that gains knowledge and power by eating books.
I am so happy about this one except for the demon lords(I thought these books were supposed to be world neutral). While I am not big on the mythic rules stuff I am still happy about getting Kaiju and Great Old Ones, especially Cthulhu. Finally a mummified template and nosferatu being in a hardcover bestiary. I know somebody who is going to be happy about the sadistic tooth fairies. Juggernuats, so are these supposed to be the mythic robbots/constructs to battle the Kaiju with?
As long as the transgender character isn't Seoni, Lini, or Merisiel, I will be fine. But I do hope the transgender character is the Alchemist iconic(don't remember his name). I think Alain would be too in love with himself to care about men or woman in that way. Kyra being gay for some reason doesn't surprise me maybe because of that one picture of her in the bath with....
Well lets see...
I am with the camp that wants a Bestiary 4 this year.
1)Any chance of seeing some non-humanoid deities based on things such as plants, machines/constructs, oozes, etc.? 2)What are all the dragon deities and demi-powers in pathfinder? 3)Will we ever see a book that covers all gods/goddesses and demi-gods/goddesses for pathfinder? 4)While the Eldest are demi-gods of the first world, are there any fey who became a full up god/goddess? 5)Since Sheylin is a cat person, then it isn't uncommon for her to be worshipped by Catfolk, correct? 6)When Sheylin's brother left for the dark tapestry, was this before or after the events of earthfall? 7)What Deities were worshipped by the Azlanti both of the core 20 and the ones no longer around/active?
I am just glad that the good people at Paizo actually introduced/created races that are actually interesting. Now if only I could get the information I want about them instead of ten more books devoted to humans, dwarves, elves, etc. Also the idea of having a 32 page book that focuses on more then one race makes me think of Blood of the Night and I have never been more disappointed in a Paizo product.
I am not sure about this one since I am still on the fence about the hole mythic thing anyway. I was hoping mythic realms were about mythic realms that you know had nothing to do with mythic rules. Like a book that talked about the first world, plane of time, plane of dreams, etc.
Animals I would like to see used for new types of Agathions.
More types of Giant/monstrous frogs and toads.
Yes I would like to see (more) creatures from the...
Dragons based on on the Astral, Ethereal, Positive Energy, Dream, and Time Planes would be interesting.
Great book but my only compaint is that the Barbarian and the Rouge are the only classes that got an animal companion and familiar in the book. Also to far the rouge has an arctype that gives a monkey familiar but the one in the this doesn't limit you that way. I would like to see familiar/animal companion archtypes for...
I for one like this spell and do not see it as a threat to the very existance of reallity. The very pillars of the heavens quake in fear of my 5d6 cold damage spell that has "SR none".
I would also like more Aeons and to be honest I like them better then the Psychopomps. High CR monsters that are Fey, Monstrous Humaniods, Elementals, Oozes, Plants, and non-giant Humaniods.
Not all creatures on the planet will have psychic abilities, I am sure there will be plenty that have no psychic powers, will be resistant to psychic powers, or can counter or feed off of psychic powers. Though it might not be a bad place for thought eaters and brain moles. It would be nice to psychic plant creatures not just animals and humanoids. I remember distant worlds mentioning beastmen, I wonder if it was just a term for the animal based humaniod races on the planet or a specific race.
On page 11 of the Distant Worlds book it does say that Castrovel's moon is larger and closer then Golarion's, so yes the tides and ocean waves are more extreme and the winds can much stronger.
...or it could be a place to make Brethedans feel at home after there long trip. ...or it could be the home of a strange creature(or group/race of cretures) unigue to this world. ...or the people at Paizo will never tells who/what created it just to be mysterious.
In my over 20 years of gaming, I have never gotten a chance to rescue a princess from a dragon or a dragon from a princess. I hope Rasputin is an oracle or maybe a sorcerer just really hard to kill. But I don't want him to be a martial class, rouge, bard, or a witch.
I would be fine if they never do another NPC codex I would like to have a good reason to renew my subscription to hardcover line of products being that the NPC Codex is the reason I ended it. If I was going to get a NPC codex book it would have to have things like centaur rangers, catfolk rouges, nixie sorcerers, lashunta alchemist, green hag witches, entire stats for goblin, nixie, and centaur tribes, kingdoms of orcs, hobgoblins, cloud giants, etc.
Well as long as there are still Catfolk on Castrovel and the planet doesn't become infested with undead, evil outsiders, orcs, humans, or some other race or creature that makes the planet a lot less interesting then whatever the good people of Paizo decide is fine by me.
Biotech would be really cool, stuff like living weapons and armor, mundane things like living tooth brushes or street lights would be cool as well. New special materials like organic plant and animal based materials for weapons, armor, and tools and not found on Gholarion. Strange and new alchemical items and also since the planet is so wet/humid then alternate materials for scroll and books. Racial magic items and biotech that you need the Lashunta's natural psychic ability to use/activate. It would be interesting to have useful and mostly benine symbiotic animals, plants, vermin and maybe some symbiotic magical beast, aberrations, and oozes.
Drow are native to Golarion and I doubt the elves would let them use the gates to get to Castrovel. It was stated that the elves think they came from Castrovel originally. But there origin could be from somewhere else before Castrovel. Though they did come from Castrovel to get to Golarion and as far as they remember Castrovel is there true home world. Since it has not been confirmed that there is any "darklands" type place on Castrovel, even if the drow could get to the planet would they want too. Dragons- Brine, Cloud, Bronze, Black, Green, Copper, Wyverns, Forest Drakes, Sea Drake, Tatzl Wyrms(Maybe Mist Dragons if we ever get that one)plus new types
Well the book did say that getting food and water was never a problem but becoming something elses meal on the other hand. Thriae would be a interesting fit. I asked Mr. Jacobs about what kind of dragons we might see here and..
The school of necromancy isn't just evil and unlife it is also the power over life. The problem is that the people at Paizo(and older companies) focus more on the unlife/negative energy aspect but there should be more positive energy spells from the school other then disrupt undead and undeath to death.
Yithians can be found anywere there is life for them to study but they don't like to let other sentient life know that they are there. Elder Things are found in cold regions and since there is no official ruling wether Castrovel has polar regions I really don't see them being here but Akiton on the other hand. Besides if Castrovel has a strong connection to either the positive energy plane or the first world then there are more then likely other forces at work here. As much as I like Lovecraftian horrors I do not feel they fit in on this planet besides we already have Golarion, Akiton, Aucturn, and the Dark Tapestry for that. They have not desided if any of the other planets have there own "darklands" so that is something to think about. We have an entire continent that is has no name or any other info about. If the inhabbitants aren't familiar with ice/snow/cold wether would they still have spells dealing with such things. If food and water are so plentiful would they care to make spells to create/summon such things. We know very little about the oceans other then they have stronger tidal forces and more storms. The sea of mist sounds very interesting, the creatures that live in it, how it was formed, etc.
Any of those races would sound interesting. Asked Mr Jacobs some questions about Castrovel. There are dragons and giants. 99% certain there are no Charau-ka. A maybe for polar regions with snow/ice and possibly some areas with seasonal changes. Unlikely to see Syrinx, Vanara, Ratfolk, or Tengu.
Last I asked mr Jacobs about the formians he said they would more then likely be aberrations or monstrous humaniods. I wouldn't mind them being magical beast though myself but as long as they are not outsiders I will be happy..
Both male and female Lashunta have antennae. I have always pictured the males to look like harry ugly dwarves possibly with mishapen features. I asked Mr. James Jacobs a while back if Catfolk could be found there and he said yes, also Catfolk are from Golarion first and them found there way to Castrovel. Lashunta might also have strange hair and/or eye color but this was never confirmed. but the first art pic had purple hair and the one in the Innersea bestiary has violet eyes and blue black hair. I also asked Mr. Jacobs if Castrovel has a strong connection to the positive energy plane and/or the first world and he said there is a 64% of that. It was James Sutter who said that the Formians will be in a hardcover bestiary and you can find that info on the last page of Distant Worlds product discussion section.
I would not have to many undead on Castrovel it has been hinted that the planet has strong ties to the positive energy plane and/or the first world. Besides I would like to see a planet that undead are almost unheard of. I would love to see what the Lashunta and elves think of each other. Froghemoths would be a good fit on this planet, I wonder were they came from originally. We will see a picture of a male Lashunta one day. You know there was no mention of any dragons on this world. Lashunta
Catfolk
megafauna
It has already been said that the Formians will be in the next hardcover bestiary and they may or may not be outsiders. This is defenitly one of my favorite of the planets in the Distant Worlds book. I hope by the end of next year we get to find out more about the Lashunta society/culture/psychology and one day see a picture of how ugly the males are. This world would be a good place for some new 0HD plant races. Also Catfolk can be found on this world as well another reason I like this planet. I really can't wait to see the stats for those creatures mentioned and the other creatures and races in the Distant World book one day. Yeah, we don't even know the name of that continent or anything about it, I really hope we get to find out sometime soon.
This book should have been about Dhampirs because...
While I would still be interested in a similar book for Lycanthropes since they are not as powerful and there are no half-lycan player race(yet).
Wild Hunt as a Fey, hopefully at least CR17 More non-undead incorporeal creatures Green Witch(template)
Medium Constructs themed on chess pieces
Template for animals/vermin that change them into magical beast and grant various abilities such as DR, spell powers, the ability to think and talk like a person, etc. More creatures from myth particurly Japanese, Native American, Mayan/Aztec/Incan, Australian, and Hindu. Non humaniod undead that were once animals, plants, vermin, aberrations, oozes, etc.
This new format sounds awesome to me, now I might start getting the modules again. Also this opens doors to modules on Castrovel, Akiton, Numeria, The First Worls, etc. and it will do them justice that a 32 page one couldn't do.
