The product in itself is an interesting product and it was something I was very interested in getting but the decision on how to distribute it is what has upset me, and the only reason I am so upset is it is a product I was looking forward to. By the way these posts are example on why I love this company so much and this will not change my opinion on what a great company Paizo is, your quick response to people concerns even if you can't help them is a great thing, keep it up! Yes but Say I wanted every card, I would have to spend alot of money to get every card and that is where my problem is. Why can you not offer a full set free of the foil cards like Basebeall cards for example, they sell random card packs and most now have special incerts in them but you also have the option to buy the whole set with out the inserts at a resonable price as long as you get them before collectors push up the price. Ofcourse baseball cards or a more of an investment thing than this is so I would expect a resonable price to be a lot lower for these then they are for baseball cards. Vic Wertz wrote:
Let me explain why I am not happy about this, by using some math. Let’s start with Item pack 1: 54 cards for 9.95 and you get all the cards, and if I want more of them I can buy it again and still get all the cards. Now Item Pack 2: you decided to go for random with equally common cards of 110 cards 1 pack of 10 cards cost 3.49. If I wanted the whole set to be safe I would have to order 20 packs and if I am lucky I will get all 110 cards with a bunch of extra I will not need for a total of 69.80. That is a lot of money compared to the first pack (108 cards, 2 sets for 19.90)for a product that frankly is not worth that amount, Basically a Picture on a card with no rules on them what so ever, but ooh I will have 20 foil cards. This is the same reason I hate WotC Minis, They are great minis but cost way to much for the product. Paizo I love your products, especially Dungeon & Dragon and stuff related to them but your gamemaster series I am not a fan of, though the map series may have merit Of course that is just my opinion and I am sure others will disagree and they are free to. A little bit off subject, but you mentioned your weight in books.. I am in the military and when you go to different bases you are allowed a certain amount of weight depending on your rank, so Here I am thinking the 500 lbs was more then enough to deliver all my stuff over seas and have no problem... well when my stuff finally got to me I ended up being over weight on stuff... the big thing was the 950 pounds worth of RPG books that I brought with me. oops... Now I have to pay them for all the extra weight.. DOH! Ummm They are not in good terms with the Stormblades... they got into a fist fight with them and wiped them up... My adventure group got arested and flogged in public... They are still sore about that and are always looking for ways to get back at the stormblades *But the ranger had a crush on Cora* christian mazel wrote:
I was thinking of Using the Striders in conjuction with another PC (one of the players missed this game). What is odd about this battle was that all saving throw fails was the result of 1s. So it took all of 4 rounds for the Beholder to wipe out My group. Round 1- Ranger Dead from finger of death
So what did the rest of the you guys do after a full party wipe? I was thinking of sending in the Striders on a rescue mission for the ones that Survived but were taken down. -Dragnmoon matt_the_dm wrote:
It is Mentioned in the description in the HC of SCAP that the purge Invisibility effect does not effect Followers of We Jas (Which was nice for one PC in my group who is a cleric (We Jas)/Wizard/Necro). Drizzt1977 wrote:
There are a Ton of them. You should look in Pazios Online Shop they sell 2nd edition books in PDF format. Some good game were. The Vecna Adventures (Vecna Lives!, Vecna Reborn, and DIE Vecna, DIE), also Return to the Tomb of Horros, Return to Whit Plume Mountain, and the Rod of seven Parts. There are many other adventures tha are good to but those were some of my favorites. -Dragnmoon Urthblade wrote:
I ran this adventure but the group was ill prepared for it. We lost 3 of the 5 PCs. And they skipped much of the adventure because of the deaths. Luckily they were still able to get Zenith out, but they never ran into the mummy or the dragon. We lost one to the Demon(devil?) and another to the assassin and the last to the invisible stalker. That is how I orginally was planning on doing it, but I have a few fears. 1. He will enjoy it too much and embrace being evil and disrupt the game (He has done that in the past)
This is how I orginally was going to play it out. Do the thing you were talking about then Have the law finally catch up to him with help from one of the many enimies the group has made (Allybashers, Stromblades, Ebon Traid, Stormblades noble Parents, Cagewrights, etc.). Now I was thinking that the law may not be sure who is the Lycanthrope in the group, especially since it is a well known rumor that one of the group was one( Recently one of the group also became Lycanthrope, werebabbon and they cured him in a very public place, Church of St. Cuthbert)And they arrest the whole group until the discover who is the lycanthrope. sooner or later the do dicover who it is and he is brought forth for justice. Now this is where it can go a few ways and here was another problem i had. The group does have a way of curing him since they found a way in the pass, but would curing him make in difference in the eye of the court? To me this is what i saw the most logical way this would go specially with all the enimies the group has had. This is why I did not like it, because all this would have happened because he was not there to get the PC cured before this all started. Everyone else in the group was new to the adventure group and did not even know his PC well (all new players) in fact have not gone on any adventures with him, so they would not have kept a close eye on him to stop it from getting that far. And like I said above even if i decided not to go that route and have the law not know about him, I would be afraid that he would love that he is playing an evil PC and disrupt the group like he has doen in the pass. I already Have in the Story that His brother was Murdered. And I think that some of you are right that just telling him all of a sudden that he has been a wererat the last 4 months is not fair. What I am thinking of doing is just forget that he got Lycanthropy (know one knew anyway) and have that his brother was murdered by another means, maybe by some enemies of the group, especially since his brother was the leader and the group is named after him. I think that is my best course of action. Thanks all for your advice. Cold Steel wrote: once he killed regardless in his confused state as a wererat,he'll remain evil until he can atone for his actions. What I was thinking was to have him gradually return to his old self as he comes to term with what he has done. My major problem is that he has probably killed others with out even knowing and he needs to pay for that. He has even probably made eneimies over the months without even knowing. This is my problem I hate doing this stuff while the player was not here, but time did go on ingame while he was gone. He loved the character and because he went on the buisness trip it has almost come unplayable. I am trying to think of way to salavage it in a way that makes sense. I have a slight problem. I had a player leave on a Business trip for a month and a 1/2 so he missed 4 months in game time, this leads to my problem. In His last adventure 'Drakthars Way' He contracted Lycanthropy from a wererat. Now we are about to start 'Deamonskar legacy' and it is his first game back and he does not know he is a wererat. Now I need to account for his character for 4 months. Most likely he is now Lawful Evil in an all good group, and I have not decided if he even knows he is a wererat yet (Low will save). Also in this adventure if there is an evil person in the group an important event does not happen because of that (The angel will not talk to them).
Mine was a Vampire: Dark Ages game me and a friend Storytelled for 5 years with a group of friends that was together for 10 years. Sadly I joined the Air Force before the game was finished and afterwards the group that was together for 10 years split up. My friends still have not forgiven me :-p, and they keep asking when I am quitting. Man, where they upset when I reenlisted. Well they are going to have to wait until 2010. Aberzombie wrote: You can also check out the Wizards of the Coast website. Around Halloween the posted an updated-to-3.5 version of Tomb of Horrors. Today they have done the same for White Plume Mountain (see my thread of the same name). I knew about Tomb of Horrors did not know about White Plume Mountain. I will have to wait to go home to check that out.. The network here blocks the wizards webpage. Thanks. Now they just need to update some more. gaborg wrote: arrrrgggghhhhhhh, yes i just found the rule... ah damn... anyway, we will probably replay it again then... :) no escaping the mighty Dugobras this time :) I would not suggest replaying the fight. just keep it as is and just make sure the players know you will be using the spell correctly for now on and explain why. That is what I do when I discover I was playing something wrong as a DM. Started the Game off with 3 Players 1 NPC Dwarf Fighter
Latter on I lost a married couple (Human Cleric, Dwarf Fighter), and added 5 more players so the group ended up looking like this Dwarf Rogue (Brother is dead by his own hands, Became a wererat then cured)
Well that was my group set up until the last adventure Zenith Trajectory, 3 PCs were killed 1 was brought back, so this is the current set up. Dwarf Rogue 8
We are about to start The Demonskar Legacy and the group is loving it! technowraith wrote: Im looking for a Dragon issue article that allows playable undead, particular ghost character. Someone told me that there was ghost class, racial or prc, in one of the issues. Does anyone here know which article and issue that was? Was in a D&D Campiagn Supplement called Ghostwalk.. Also Libris Mortis another D&D Supplement Has info on Undead Characters Psyicman wrote: I have noticed in three of my D&D books the Races of Ebberon, Lords of Madness, and the new Magic of Incarnum the paper of the books is not the same as my older books. It seems a lot lighter, thinner, and looks almost like it has been water damaged at the top or bottom. I have been browsing the book stores that I have access to in the bay area and its not just the books I own. I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this. If i'm not the only one then you have to ask your self is wizards skipping on the printing costs or just being lazy? What I think he may mean in water damage is the paper is wavy. I have noticed alot of my newer books all the pages are wavy especially the thiner ones. I order all my books through Amazon.com I noticed my first errors in the Shackled City Hardcover. Pg 392-393 Fellian Shard (Half-Elf Rogue1/Cleric1); they have down Strength as a Domain for the NPC, he is a follower of Fharlaghn and Strength is not a Domain of that Deity. I looked in the original adventure in Dungeon 97 and Noticed they had Travel as his 2nd chosen Domain that is a Domain of Fharlaghn so I corrected the NPC. The other problem I noticed was that they have him using a longsword, which he is incapable of using; the same mistake was made in Dungeon 97. I corrected that by replacing the longsword with a Heavy Mace.
I read this thread everyday, and oddly I am not even running this Adventure path. But still I have been gripped into the anticipation of when overload will come out... hmmm... maybe I am just odd that way. I do have Future plans to run This Adventure path, but that is very far ahead. Still I am sure anything that is in the Overload will be very Helpful. Thankyou Everyone at Dungeon...In advance
