Some call me Tim wrote: Believe me, it will get around if a particular GM is a tool. *Points to Kyle* Death is part of the Game, it has been since Day 1. I have never played an RPG that did not have Death over the PCs character. As a GM it is not our job to "Soft-Ball" a PCs death to make it not happen, it is our Job though to try to make it as Epic as possible so the Players actually enjoys it and remembers it as a good thing. Thankfully I have never had a player that takes it bad when his/her PC died, hopefully I never will. godsDMit wrote: Not according to the copy of the pdf my wife recieved last week-ish, so she can run it at Cape Comic Con. It's still a 1-7. I can't say for sure, But I think the 1-7 version is "Retired" I think you have to run the 3-7 version. Mike or Mark will have to answer that one. Edit: From the 1-7 version of the scenario Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-EX: The Midnight Mauler wrote: Note: This scenario has been updated from its exclusive version for public release. Purchasers have access to both the exclusive version released as Pathfinder Society Scenario #2–EX and Pathfinder Society Scenario #3–16, but as of February 29, 2012, only the latter is legal for Pathfinder Society organized play. Except for minor changes involving faction missions and general copyediting, both versions of the scenario are the same; only the legal version of the scenario contains a Chronicle sheet.

There are an extreme rare amount of traits that are both Racial and Social, the Vast Majority of the Racial Traits you can still take. It is not broken just because you can't take the one trait you want. #1 Very accurate
#2 I now see Mark as Mark #3 I am part of a secret society that is trying to stop the Mind Washing of the VCs, I reported this in this thread. Since coming out with this information there has been an organized effort by those VCs that have been brain-washed, and their minions to discredit me. I am actually a very lovable guy. #4 deusvult it not correct as often as I am. #5 We would make Bob cry his first day on that job. And sure they can, it just would not be automatic, you would need to use the rules for damaging items. Doug Miles wrote: One-on-one the Mauler is a threat. Take out his flanker and he's living on borrowed time. I love the times when the players forgot to take him alive. I have no Clue what you are talking about! When there was a 1-2 version of him I took him out during the chase with a Max damage Crit with my Musket and silver bullets *44 dmg*. Of course there isn't a 1-2 version of him anymore and the 3-4 version that would still leave him with 1 hp. Michael Brock wrote:
If you spelled it correctly, maybe you would find them... ;) KestlerGunner wrote: Getting back to Feral's original post, this is probably what I'd stick in place as my PFS home rules: Based on what Mike Posted on what a Private game can cannot do, some of those you cannot do.. I can't wait until some of the website improvements that are in the works (that I can't talk about) come to fruition. Hey Mike if you ever feel the need to talk to anyone about what is coming up, you can always email me about them. I promise not to tell anyone... ;) Mok wrote: Maybe at some point a closer game will emerge, or the weird races will stoke some passion to play. I just want to be able to relax and fire off a game without the fuss. Just so you know, Mike has made it Clear that Races other then the Core Races will not become open to general PFS play, You will still be limited to Other races by getting Boons for them at conventions. ElyasRavenwood wrote: Can a paladin be a paladin of Pharasma, dedicated to the eradication of the undead? Would htis be legal for Pathfinder Society organized play. Paladins and Gods are a soar subject in PFS Org play, there has never been an definitive answer from the PFS organizers on this. The problem is the the PFRPG rules do not state otherwise that there are any restrictions on Gods, but the setting has put restrictions on them. That said, In Golarion only Gods that are Lawful Good or 1 step removed from Lawful Good have Paladins following them, and even then I am not sure all those have Paladins. In the setting Pharasma is not known to have Paladins. Bill Faulkner wrote: What Doug said is very important. When I played Midnight Mauler (GM'd by Doug, BTW), I was rather fustrated by the lack of progress my Dwarven Cleric could make. -2 for being slow, plus armor check penalty, plus cleric skills don't make for good chase numbers. I know that the PFS requires rather rigid rules following (and justifyably so), but having just 2 possible checks per card is too limiting for many characters. It requires a GM willing to try and make it fun for all. Though I can see your point here, it was a lot more dramatic in our game when everyone had problems in the chase scene when one player finally made it at the last second. If I started allowing "creativeness" that did not follow the rules, the drama of the scene would have been drastically reduced. WalterGM wrote: Thanks Doug, I'll probably add a note to the side of the faction mission that says, more or less "do this part in secret." Good suggestion ;) You will see this as a common occurrence, there are many Faction missions that say they are required to be done in secret but no hint of that is given in the faction briefing. After talking to one scenario writer about this, he was under the belief that by default all missions should be done in secret and that need not be clarified in the mission briefing. This disconnect could be similar issue with the many other times you will see it come up. David Santana wrote: ICON has not been too kind to us. I organized RPGA for them for a few years, with them limiting our resources until they took us off their program. I would be happy to organize for them and that may be in the works. We had problems with them in the past as well. In the Mid 90s we ran a popular Vampire Larp based on our rules of Vampire: The masqurade, They kicked us out after we got too large. Odd that they cause problems for Larger Games. Enevhar Aldarion wrote:

I agree, a Character comes out a lot more if you involve canon into it, but there is going to far. For example you Character that is the Daughter of a Goddess does not fit into the Pantheon of Golarion, as far as I am aware, and go ahead and point it out if I am wrong, there are no examples of Mortal Children of Gods in Golarion. If it was more like a Greek pantheon, sure it would fit. There are examples of people claiming to be, but those a Boast and not actual truths, so as a GM, unless you could prove other wise, if you insisted on bringing it up in game, I would treat it as a Boast and not a reality. Same with your second Example, You should stay away from being Direct descendants of Important NPCs. Distant relatives would be fine IMO. nosig wrote: My point thou is that the Judge at the table is the lens we see the world thru. If he say's "In Galt, the common language is Sylvan"... well, that's the way it is at his table. And I'd hope to be able to T10 on a Kn(Geo) or maybe Kn(Local) for my PC to know that. I am confused here... This does not compute... Wait, if you went to a public game with your character, and the GM questioned the character and you showed him the source and he still refused to accept it, you would agree with that? No way in hell I would do that, a GM in a "Public" game at least can't do that, and I would not take that crap from a GM. I would walk away and do whatever it was in my power, if talking to the GM did nothing, to report that gms actions... GMs are important but there powers have limits, and over abusing them should not be encouraged. nosig wrote:
