Magus is the obvious one of course. Bloodrager is a thing. But that may step on the toes of the barbarian a little. Fair warning. Arcane duelist bard...is kinda bad. Alchemist can be a front liner but they aren't exactly arcane. Same deal for investigator kinda. There's a couple (bad but fun) vigilante archetypes too. If you're willing to branch out further I can give you other ideas. Or if you provide some more details on what you want I can iffer various builds from these

I'd like to play with stuff like this but my players resent anything that isn't by the book or close to it

You know. Some people just explain things so that they are made clear. There's lots of reasons someone may do this. Calling them stupid or assuming they think you're stupid just makes you look like an a$$. Considering how argumentive you were earlier I'm guessing maybe you don't just look the part. Have a little awareness about why someone speaks the way they do. It may be trauma related

Size increases of the wielder (but not the weapon)such as enlarge person will increase which table you use. But virtual size increases do not

Cool advice guys. I appreciate it. I'll work on "translating" strange aeons into formats I can work with. As far as why I'd like to run an AP over my own stuff. It just interests me. The AP strange aeons is hugely lovecraft inspired and he's one of mine and my player's favorite worlds to use. And while I could make my own lovecraft inspired world (and in fact I have) strange aeons just seems neat

PF2 does a lot of stuff I like...but I also hate about 90% of the rest of it, it just doesn't feel like pathfinder anymore, which sucks cause Paizo is one of my favorite companies

Sounds like you're a fantastic GM. Life sucks. Sometimes it hinders the game. No worries there. Glad we could be some help though

Hi all. So I want to build a heavy armor using gun user. Specifically I want to use a dragon pistol and tower shield. I was thinking either gun tank 5/fighter (maybe something else) X. That gets me dex to damage and armor training 1. The other idea I had is trench fighter 3 (maybe more?) Then something else. But I'm really not sure how to go about this. Any ideas or advice is welcome. I posed this question to Reddit and the only.real advice I got was to add scatter gunner to gun tank. And one guy suggested dropping the tower shield for a heavy shield and TWFing via savage technologist. I'd really like to keep the tower shield but I can be persuaded otherwise. Dragon pistol is locked though. Thanks all

In game solutions don't work for out of game problems. That's just the reality of it

I've stuck with P1 just cause it's by far my favorite system. It's not nearly as clunky as 3.5 and it feels good to play. My group was initially excited for P2 but the playtest left a real bad taste in our mouth and when the actual game came out we read the rules and decided that while it had some good ideas it left behind what felt like pathfidner and for us. So with P1 we stayed

I certainly would have preferred a 2e that still feels like pathfinder. Back on topic though. I would have liked rules for oozes as pets, animal companions, familiars, etc.

It is perfectly legal to select a prerequisite and a feat at the same level

Thanks for all the great suggestions y'all. Prince Alberto, Mike E. Noid, and Gieger were all ones I deliberated on. In the end I'm going with Gieger. It fits so well and it sounds serious enough that I can say it in game and not get laughed out

Yeah I'd buy. I like P1 and not P2. I'd be interested in bew material but I wouldn't turn my nose up at reprints or updates

One of my characters will have a dweomer cap figment familiar and I need a name for him. All I can think of is Alberto. I would love to hear more suggestions

Alright. So I said screw it and rebuilt my vivisectionist. DM ruled That potion glutton works with extracts so that's my first feat. Followed by shikigami style and I'll take the next two feats as my next two then improv. Focus. Any tips on what else I can do to make a melee alchemist (vivi) use improvised weapons better?

Just had the idea for a Magus that fights with a hand keg (or really anything else that's one handed) and if I'm reading correctly all of the Magus stuff works with improvised weapons and from what I can tell there aren't many feats a Magus really needs so they won't be feat starved entirely

I'll have to look for my old notes on a character I built to recreate Wakka from FFX for the full build.

Quick breakdown is 3 levels of Aquanaut Fighter (Apply all single choice weapon feats to all piercing weapons and a swim speed equal to base land speed), and as many levels as you desire in Hinyasi brawler.
Feats:
>All 3 Shikigami feats (new standard of all Improvised builds
>Improvisational Focus for 'proficiency' and psuedo-Weapon Focus
>Improvised Weapon Mastery for 19-20/x2 crit
>Pick up Martial Focus for close weapons (Hinyasi treats improvised as close weapon)
>Now Ricochet Toss for ranged if you so desire

Optional: Advanced Weapon Training feat to grab Versatile Training for BAB replacing skill ranks in one of two sets All (Bluff, Intimidate) or Close (Sense Motive, Stealth)

Grab a 6 inch ball and start tossing.

This is wonderful. I absolutely adore wakka

This character is really coming along. I like the sounds of that

All noted. Thanks for all the help. I'm terrible at putting builds into motion. I now have one hell of a cool concept brewing with the crunch all sorted

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Ooh that's neat. I really love the arcane strike line of feats and playing up that could be real fun. Thanks

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The original idea was vivisectionist. But that shall not be the build anymore. Maybe bloodrager they're fun. Or maybe investigator

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Oh that looks fun. I may very well steal that for my next character

Ooh all quite helpful. Thank you. That has given me quite a few ideas. Appreciated kind gentleperson

Holy necromancy batman

I was originally going to focus my vivisectionist on it before deciding that (while funny) was not particularly good. But it got me thinking and I think the next character I play may be focused on improvised weapons because it seems fun and unusual

As far as Rick saying morty's name. It gets much better, he knows that he was doing it to much and it continues to get better

Because that's their niche. They are the fighting guy. There are plenty of archetypes that change this up of course but I've always seen the fighter as the dude that just fights really good without need for magic.

Ah the beautiful world of hentai...sorry

Well of course there are octopi both regular and giant, that goes for squids too...there are krakens and various oozes that have tentacles...hmm...I'm sure there's more but that's what I have

Got necromancy?

While I think you're ideas are fascinating please try to follow the race creation guidelines because you're race stats are odd to say the least. Like your elves. Stay away from +1's to ability scores there is a reason nothing provides a +1 to them. Other than that though your lore is really interesting

K, I should be done in a reasonable amount of time, I can't work super often because of work (both an actual job and some stuff for school) so it'll be a bit but hopefully not to long

I'd suggest you play a bloodrager. It's an easy class to play, gets spells and is a great fighter plus they have some awesome stuff to rp

Sorry to break it to ya zarius but the mechanics are what matters. Reality does not matter here.

I'm currently developing a paper mario based table top rpg.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I totally agree Wheldrake. Also I love the idea of a magic lamp adventure. Zarius you should probably just talk to the DM or better yet, have the player this happened to talk to him

Common should probably be whatever language your entire group speaks, that is the norm assumed by everything

Check out the third party race "obitu" they exist for the non evil skeleton niche, it's how I built sans

Yay

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I'm not sure how you'd do it. But I would love to see you try and build one of the mario brothers (preferably Luigi) I think that'd be interesting, although I have no clue what you'd do

1 person marked this as a favorite.

It sounds like you need to sit your players down and talk to them, I know it sounds harsh but you may wanna kick out the players that cancel most often. Also you probably should have coached their character creation to balance their party a little better. But most of all, try to remain friends, if this game doesn't work out than don't force them to play, RPG's aren't for everyone

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Ah yes that was it, thanks. Sorry been forever since I looked over our 3.5 stuff

2 people marked this as a favorite.

I'm so gonna have to ban that commoner archetype it's like way to good,it's almost like that one class from 3.5 the rogue

This was entirely satirical

On a more serious note
5. Gunslinger (ghost buster)
Loses nimble for "ghost bust" his attacks are treated as ghost touch
Also gains "I ain't afraid of no ghost" at 3rd level works like bravery
