Fun and different.

This is the ugly duckling of the Slugfest line. Their only boardgame, Tiki Mountain seems to have the least word of mouth (far behind their awesome Red Dragon Inn) but stands apart from the rest of their more card based line.

Tiki Mountain is very family friendly and has some of the most beautiful- if humorous -game art I've seen in a boardgame.

As a whole, Tiki Mountain is a race game, but rather than just trying to beat your opponent to the top, it adds some "Take That" mechanics allowing you to hold back or sometimes even switch places with your opponent.

The casual player will enjoy a simple to learn, fun, fast paced romp. The more seasoned boardgamer will recognize deep underlying strategy that creeps in beneath the game's youthful visage.

But don't take my word for it. Play it and see.
