Date shipped says Feb 17, so today makes 2 weeks and I have received nothing yet. Wasn't sure if there was any issues shipping this time around? Usually I receive my stuff in about 6 days, so I just wanted to bring it to someone's attention just in case something odd has happened (like another freak snowstorm).

I currently run an alternating game with another DM on Friday nights. I am seeking an additional player in my game when those nights when I DM arrive.

We try to play every Friday night from about 7pm until 2am. My game is mostly 3.5 rules with a sprinkle of Pathfinder stuff mixed in. We are all guys aged 36+, most with families, and we all are pretty normal...well as normal as grown adults playing a game with dice and mini's can be. :)

Female gamers are welcomed.

If anyone is interested please drop me a line here.

Thanks

Just a quick discussion between me and another player brought this issue up...

If a creature has been affected by a slow spell, can he still use the pounce ability when it charges? I know the slow spell only allows him to move his move action speed rate.... So could he move 20 ft in a charge and gain the benefits of the pounce ability?

I say yes, but my buddy isnt so sure...

Hi nothing to see here people just trying to get something solved in our table top game...

Cheliax (Pathfinder Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

Does anyone have a good full detailed write-up for Brodert Quink? What knowledge skills did you give him? His languages? etc.

If someone has something I would love to hear it as I have some idea but I am having twisted ideas about him (ie making him more into a subtle bad guy much like Belloq from "raiders of the lost ark")

Cheliax (Pathfinder Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

Hey everyone!!

I'm looking to see if anyone would be interested in playing D&D on Thursday nights in the Lake Ray Hubbard area....

I am a DM that uses mostly 3.5 rules with a few Pathfinder and a couple house rules thrown in for good measure....

Just trying to get a consensus and we can go from there.

Thanks

Cheliax (Pathfinder Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

While being grappled...can you still make a full attack with a light or one handed weapon (provided that you have the BAB to do 2 or more attacks)? I know in 3.5 you were able to, but looking at the Pathfinder rules it only says "an attack" and I can not find anywhere where it says full/multiple attacks..

Maybe I am just not finding the right page. Any help would be great.

Thanks

Will a darkness cancel out an everburning torch and vice versa?

I would think that it would but part of me is holding back on saying yes, maybe cause its a permanent magic item...i dont know.

Both are level two, and both mention that "x" spell of same or higher level negates each other....

Any thoughts?

Cheliax (Pathfinder Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

Could you guys please cancel this order for me? Thanks

Cheliax (Pathfinder Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

I am glad that adding a spell to a spellbook is much cheaper in Pathfinder, but my question is.... How do we get the 'special' ink to write spells in a spellbook? More to the point I guess is this question...can a PC use the craft skill to make this "special ink"? Is it even "special ink" that we need to add these spells? It just says it costs "X" amount in materials to write the spell into a book.

Any insights?

Cheliax (Pathfinder Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

Just curious if this was shipped yet... Looked like it was in my account history, but just double checking. Thanks!

Cheliax (Pathfinder Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

We have a core group that is looking for players into Call of Cthulhu (1920s-1940s) and D&D 3.5/Pathfinder. We try to meet every friday night from 730pm until 1230am in Rowlett.

If interested please drop me a line.

Thanks

I am more than a bit irritated receiving my books with badly crimped corners. I dont know if its because Paizo stuffs 4 books in one cardboard envelope or if the US Postal Service is playing envelope football with my stuff, but lately I have been getting really badly crimped corners and some tiny tears in my Pathfinder and GameMastery stuff.

It there a way you guys can ship stuff in a more spacious envelope or something? I understand you guys try to reduce shipping costs to make customers happy, but I want my stuff in decent condition when it arrives.

Thanks for listening to my rant and I appreciate everything you guys do.

I would like to break my PBP virginity and try to get into a 3.5 PBP game. Not sure if anyone was starting something after the holidays, but if you do give me a shout....

Thanks

We dont use mounted combat in my games, but I have a player that likes the concept of his halfling animal companion using his goat as a war mount.

So I guess my question is.....how much can you do with your mount? Assuming the PC can make the DC 5 Ride skill check to guide with knees, which of the following would apply?

A) Can the mount do a double move, allowing the PC to do a full round of actions?

B) If the mount takes a single move, does this allow the PC to do a full round of actions?

C) If the mount double moves, does the PC only get one standard action?

Can anyone point to any books that cover Mounted Combat better, other than the PHB?

Thanks!!

How much do you think it would cost to by the Dungeons and Dragons license/brand from Wizards of the Coast?

Cheliax (Pathfinder Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

Any word on when these will be available again????

Cheliax (Pathfinder Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

I didnt see a spell & combat section this time around...

So can anyone please explain to me why, in the download, animate rope and animate objects are missing their spell descriptions?

Was this brought up before?

If so..sorry to bring up the topic again...

Cheliax (Pathfinder Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

So we are about halfway through the Rise of the Rune Lords book one. I have been meaning to post many adventure logs from my previous groups but really nothing seemed that great.

But now...we have a winner!!!

We play 95% 3.5 rules with a mix of Pathfinder and house stuff. We are not digging the power boost to Pathfinder, but the histories are amazing and help the campaign flow!! We use 3d6 eight times any order (best six) OR 4d6 any order.

I will post the PCs and later expand on their "adventure"!

Marshak, a worshipper of Cayden Cailean, was actually dropped off in town unceremoniously by his previous adventuring band, after one too many accidental placement of his "rain of tankards"(hail of stone-spell thematics to look like a bunch of tankards smashing into a creature).

Ok who are we kidding? I love politics and have a BA in Political Science....

Anywho.....

Obama touted "Change we can believe in" yet as I see his choices for cabinet positions it looks like Clint era part two. Choices seem to be party-line except for Defense Sec. (which last I read he was keeping Gates there).

I dont mind party-line choices and I am 75% republican and 25% democrat in my beliefs/philosophies, but ok serious....

Hiliary as Sec of State?? As gruff as she is, I dont know. I think hubby Bill better be coming with her on those foreign trips. Not being from NY I dont know how good of a Senator she is, but it just seems a little out of place.

Ok so I was at a comic book shop last week and saw the Pathfinder Elf book. I was confused as to why they got a copy before I did, but when I looked at my order histories I saw that it was never shipped cuz it was never on any shipment list.

I guess my question is, is this something I have to order seperately or did you guys forget me?

Thanks!!!

Cheliax (Pathfinder Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

Hey I got the order yesterday and the book is way cool.

If you still need me to TP Heathy's place I can swim across the lake tonight....

Cheliax (Pathfinder Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

I got my shipment today and 3 of the 5 books were damaged. The Adventure path issues were fine, but the 2 adventures took a little damage (crimped corner near the spine) and the gods book took enough damage that the pages are starting to come out a little of the spine.

I can live with the damage to the adventures, but can I please get a replacement for the "Gods & Magic" book?

Geez you make one little joke about the post office and they seek revenge....

The wording for some of the spell effects in the Spell Compendium has me and my players scratching our heads.

Case in point: Blessed Aim

"Effect: 50-ft radius spread centered on you"

When you look at the spell description it states, "this spell grants your allies within the spread a +2 morale bonus on ranged attack rolls."

I guess my question is, does the caster get hosed? Is he NOT included in the spell effect?

I look at spells like 'bless' and they go out of the way and point out the caster is included.

So did they just mess up in the Spell Compendium or was this intentional?

Thanks in advanced for any help!!

Cheliax (Pathfinder Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

Hey, I just re-subscribed for Pathfinder but the email sent to me said my first issue would be Pathfinder #2, which I already received a few days ago. Can you please make sure my subscription starts with Pathfinder #3?

Thank you!!!!

SPOILER ALERT

Anyone else find the amount of treasure to be too powerful(both magical and non-magical)? Mithral fullplate, +1 battle axe, grasp of droskar, flaming daggers, human-bane weapon, Kobold's crown, heartripper blade ect.... Maybe I am just too old school(or maybe just too old). I like the story alot(finished reading the PDF), but the treasure seems a bit much.....

Cheliax (Pathfinder Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

I havent seen this in awhile in the pages of Dungeon. Does Dungeon still even consider publishing a Critical Threat ideas?

Cheliax (Pathfinder Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

Our group started a new campaign last friday. They are starting at level three. This is set in the Silver Marches of the Realms and uses a few issues of Dungeon plus some other sources that are sewn together. Some of the names have been changed to protect the innocent. Six strangers find themselves in the city of Everlund, they will soon find themselves together through fate(and DM assistance). This is their story...

Hondo Underfoot(strongheart halfling scout/rogue/swashbuckler)

Hondo is, as he will tell anyone who asks, a "professional adventurer". He is pretty dang smart and he knows it and his arrogance shows. Hondo thinks of himself as the general, giving orders to the specialists and accepting no back talk. Hondo respects only competence. He has no problem leaving his party, should they disrespect him. He left his last party when the Tyran fighter ignored him, proceeded down a suspicious-looking dungeon corridor without letting Hondo scout it out, and set off an arrow trap which missed the warrior, but cost Hondo half of one finger. Under normal circumstances Hondo fidgets frequently with his half-finger, but when he is under stress, annoyed or otherwise agitated, he fidgets with it conntinuously. The warrior wasn't the only weak link in that party, and now Hondo is pretty particular about who he lets
adventure with him. Hondo is an adventurer to see amazing sights, and to make lots and lots of gold. He doesn't especially mind when things get "interesting", but he will be the first one to pull the plug on a mission that offers a very serious risk of death. After all, you can't make money or spend it, when you are dead.

Wulfran von Belstadt(human druid/rogue)

Wulfran grew up on a small rather isolated farm near the fringes of The Moonwood north of Silverymoon. His father is a moderately powerful druid in service to the Moonwood circle. His mother was a simple yet beautiful woman whose good nature and talent for relating tales of brave knights, mighty kings and arcane magics filled the household with warmth and joy. His father tried diligently to teach his son the path of Silvanus but his initial efforts met with only modest success. Although Wulfran admired his father’s kinship with nature he also found it rather boring. The bustling inns and taverns of Silverymoon held so much more excitement and the half elf maidens he caught glimpses of there were much more interesting company than Rhael, the wolf cub he and his father had raised for the past 4 years. He began spending more and more time in Silverymoon, sometimes lying and telling his father that he was going into the woods to research a particular flora or fauna just to get back to the town. There he first encountered a bard from the Foclucan college and discovered another love of his life, music.
Then, just over a year ago, his life of frivolity was abruptly put on hold when word reached him that his mother was dead, mauled to death by some horrible beast. When he reached home, he and his father were able to confirm that his mother’s death was no natural act-one of the foul lycanthropes that roamed the wood had to have been responsible. It was then that Wulfran decided to return to the ways of nature so that he could better understand and combat these horrible creatures. For the last year he has been traveling the lands around Silverymoon searching for any hints of lycanthrope activity and honing his own hunting skills. He has recently come into the town of Everlund after a long stretch in the wilderness and can faintly hear the local taverns calling him back to his old way of life

Smrtnt (gully dwarf ranger)

Smrtnt isnt the smartest person in the world. This gully dwarf has found himself ripped from his world and was transported to Faerun, thanks in part to the wizards of the Arcane Brotherhood. When the dwarf appeared in a wizards lab, along with a devilish-type creature next to him, Smrtnt screamed and headed for the door, grabbing some vials of a "pretty liquid". After dodging spellcasters, the small dwarf fled the tower and found himself in the wilderness, where he ran and ran. Many miles later, Smrtnt has found himself in Everlund and has taken quite a liking to the nice garbage that people throw out, and he promply devours.

Arias (sun elf wizard/cleric of Labelas Enoreth)

Born on the island of Evermeet, Arias has lived a good life of peace and quiet. He was fascinated with things around him and wanted to learn every little detail about every little thing in the world. He attended the elven schools on the island and stuffed his brain with all the knowledge he cold, but that didint seem enough. He chatted with a few priests on the island and decided to expand his horizons and learn of religion and his god, Labelas. The elf was a quick study and proved to be a good student, but he spend many nights wondering what was across the Trackless Sea and on the land they called Faerun. Seeing his restlessness and his desire to see more, the leaders of the church told him that they needed his help. They needed to know more about the land called the Silver Marches, as the elders received a vision of three great evils trying to rise and shift the balance of power into one of themselves. Arias, who was only told to investigate and report any unusual uses of Weave and Shadow Weave magic, eagerly accepted the job and took a ship to Waterdeep as soon as he could.

Saevian Mournblade (moon elf cleric of Shevarash)

Ah, love. A crazy thing indeed, but for some love will make you do anything. Saevian used to believe in love and the good things in life, but at an early age, his mother was slain by an invasion force of drow in the forests of Cormanthor. He was too young to understand at the time, but as the years progressed he understood quite well and took Shevarash as his patron. Over the years, his grimness seemed to go deeper and deeper into the darkness, but he found a ray of light in the form of Jacinda Eveningstar, the daughter of an influencal elven leader in the Elven Court. During a mission with the clerics of Shevarash, they discover Jacinda's caravan being attacked by drow raiders. But how would he be able to catch her attention and influence her father to accept him, a commoner by birth. Saevian knew that women and people like her father would readily accept a hero, someone strong who could lead the elves in the war against the dark elves. With that, Saevian sent Jacinda a letter professing his love for her, but he needed time to prove himself to his people, his god, and most importantly her family by making a name for himself and organizing a group dedicated to extermining the drow. Saevian feared that if he did that in the Elven Court, Jacinda or her family might be attacked more often so the drow could gain a leverage against their surface cousins. So, he decided to go to the Silver Marches where they were having their own drow problems.

Walter Dorn (human rogue/fighter)

Walter was born in Scardale Town to a priest and priestess of Mystra. The Goddess of Magic was his life and he almost felt a special connection to the Weave because of his lineage. Life in the city was trying after battles and plague decimated most of the town, but the last few years if has gotten better as seperate factions policed the town in their sections. Eventhough Walter dreamt of the Lady of Magic, he found himself unable to go the way of the Art or the holy connection to her. Instead, Walter wanted to protect the Weave, after hearing stories from his parents about a group of "knights" devoted to Mystra who swore to protect the Realms and the Weave with their lives. The group was relatively new, and Walter's parents were unsure if the group was real or just a passing fancy of the rich children. These protectors would be blessed by Mystr to cast spells, but at a much limited pace. Walter packed his stuff and decided to head to Silverymoon to look up one of the "trainers". SO far Everlund is the furthest that he has made it to but hopes to see someone about his devotion to the Lady of Mysteries.

Coming soon: How they met!!

Cheliax (Pathfinder Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

Every time I go and look at the product list for buying the single figure Dungeons and Dragons Miniatures, I noticed that like 75% are "currently unavailable". Is it possible to take them off the site if they never will become available, cuz I know some have been on this site for like a year and they still say "currently unavailable".

Just a thought. Thanks for listening to my mini-rant (no pun intended).

Cheliax (Pathfinder Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

Realizing I'm kinda tired of cookie-cutter characters in my group, my mind wandered, got lost, returned, wandered some more, and came back with an idea that I think I'm gonna try for creating characters in games that I DM.

Instead of having totally random stats (i.e rolling), which can lead to some really strong characters and sometimes average characters, I decided to give my players the rush of rolling but still allowing me to control how high a character's stat can be.

So, the range will be a point-buy of 25 to 32. I will have the guys roll 6d10 and figure out the average. From there they will apply it as follows:

1 equals point-buy of 25 points
2 equals point-buy of 26 points....ect until they get to an average of 7-8 equals point-buy of 31 points and 9-10 equals point-buy of 32.

This still gives them the flexibility of creating their stats, it allows them to have a range of stats compared to everyone starting with the same point-buy number, and it still has a degree of randomness.

Has anyone else tried something like this?
Any thoughts on my system?

Cheliax (Pathfinder Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

Does any know if Dragon or the WotC posted an "updated" list of domains available to the various gods in the Realms that include the ones in the Spell Compendium?

Any help would be appreciated.
