I vote for the Ecology of the Aboleth (#131) (Lords of Madness missed the boat) and Staff of the Magi (#338) - who needs a familiar when you could wield a wicked shillelagh!

It's funny what other players do... I had a gnome cleric who was very bitter because his name, S'melz Ovsheap, sounds so unbecoming in Common. Then there was my little halfling rogue Kyowe Tea.

We're going to unveil Adventure Path 3's details in the editorial to issue #135. which is scheduled to hit newsstands in the first or second week of May. Once that comes along, the curtain of secrecy will be lifted. Until then... I'm afraid it's radio silence regarding AP3.

I know you guys work really hard, but it sure sounds like a whole lot of fun too. Keep it up!

I'm wondering about how other DMs handle sleep loss. The characters were in a hurry and decided to push on through the night to reach their destination...which was a trap. Now they face combat with no sleep in 24 hours.

I was thinking about making them all fatigued but what if they decide to forgo another night's rest?

Thanks...

Eh, you say tomato and I say tomato (which doesn't really work so well written) but now I'm even more upset - those poor elementals ;)

The cad. Imagine the nerve, tricking someone into reading a wonderful, clever, interesting, and well-labelled Eberron adventure with a picture of a train wreck on the first page. Have you no shame, Mr. Logue?

(emphasis mine) I agree, Eberron should be identified with a train wreck. But I also agree with SirMarcus. I wish Mr. Logue would focus his brilliance on campaign settings which lack robots and trains...forgive me, I'm old school and set in my ways.

I recently purchased the Beyond Countless Doorways by Malhavoc Press. This is a pretty cool alternative cosmology with tons of possibilities. Check it out at Malhavoc Press.

PS Fake Healer: You don't know what you're missing in not suporting ECS ;) Really!!!

Yes I do. "Techno-magic" is not my idea of a good fantasy setting, some like it. Fine. I will not support a setting that usurped Greyhawk's position as the standard D&D setting. Viva la Greyhawk! Oooo Raaa! (that last was for Lilith's SO)

FH

I agree. I for one will not be supporting Eberron material. If this steps on your toes I apologize. I really hope you have fun. It's just not my thing.

Ok, my only request would be for big printable copies of the maps! Especially of the Vale (p 9) and Koth's plans (p 29).

This would make the adventure indeed a PERFECT 10! I hope WotC will give us those maps as downloads...

Over on the WotC boards it says that the maps will be available online sometime next week-ish. Bump my five star rating to six!

Once a week, Tuesdays unless there is a schedule conflict which moves us to Thursday 6pm-10pm or so. Its not a long session but it is steady and I have a group with 7 players and a DM. Usually we have 5-6 players on any given night. If I could I would play ever other day but I already don't deserve my wife so why push it;P

FH

Exactly. When it comes to plundering treasure, killing baddies and saving the world, or keeping my wife happy, she wins every time.

I think I could (could have) made more, but I spend too much time gaming.

The age old exchange - time vs money. Tensor, my dear, I have more than my fair share of income but I never get to play...who is the richer?

Alright, here is one on the lack of control. There was a group 5 or 6 of us playing. As freshmen in High School we were quite honored that an upper classman (a Junior, I believe) wanted to join our game. After several hours of playing, the new guy killed us all! It turned out that he was an assassin and took delight in killing PCs. We even had to hand over our character sheets as trophies. Our poor DM was dumbfounded...

I imagine there is an existing thread for this topic, but the search isn't working for me today and I need a place to vent.

I've been trying to join a once a month all day Saturday game for several months now. I had to cancel at the last minute this time because a surprise honey-do list from hell.

Anyway, I'm just interested in how often people tend to play and on what day(s).

Taldor (Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Campaign Setting, Companion, Modules, GameMastery Cards Subscriber)

Yeah, where do I go to pre-order ;)

Paizo Staff - I love you guys (in a macho sort a non-gushy way)!!!

Every now and then I run into an older edition I would love to buy but it's "currently unavailable". Wouldn't it be cool and helpful if you had a Wish List feature that let us mark the item? Then you guys would know where our interest lie...in case you decided to resurrect an issue or something.

Thanks for the list, I think I can deffinately use it as a guideline to make sure that i am fully versed in the use of a new spell, feat, ability etc. before it comes into question during play. That being said, I did not mean to imply that I had a problem with my players using a new accessorys and the optional rules presented therein. What I meant to accomplish by posting this thread is finding out whether anyone thought is was to much of me to ask my players to purchase the books containing the material they wish to make use of. A lot of the reasoning for this house rule was mentioned above and needs not be repeated here, but another reason is to prevent myself from having to carry every product Wizards and every other d20 company produce to every game. We do not always play in the same location, and the amount of material and equipment that I carry to each session is already cumbersome. Again, thanks for the list. Any othe opinions out there?

Tam

In my opinion, someone should own the book (maybe you have a group supported library). It makes sense that the player owns it and allows the DM free access to it. However, I can also see the DM getting books and encouraging players to use pieces to fit a story line. For example, maybe the player need not own Libris Mortis but the DM does and encourages someone to take the Tomb-Tainted Soul feat at startup (let the players worry about why - thanks James Jacobs!).

Taldor (Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Campaign Setting, Companion, Modules, GameMastery Cards Subscriber)

If I might add, you should consider looking into the Shackled City hardcover. It contains the adventure in question along with the rest of the story bound together with tons of supplemental material. It is quite an amazing product...

I'll throw my votes to Demonomicon of Iggwilv: Zuggtmoy (#337) and Staffs of the Magi (#338)...and Worm Food (it's cheesy but crunchy)

Thirty-five and counting...started with the red box at ten or so (wish I still had it) but unfortunately it's been awhile since I've had a regular game. PG13 is appropriate - reading through these posts it is evident that a lot of us started in the early early teens. Killing monsters for treasure was enough. We didn't need all the back story and psychology. Years latter I can now relish the depth of the SC and AoW but sometimes I wish I could run a game with my kids, nieces, and nephews that had a bit less edge...(like the Box of Flumph!)
