Dinpel seeks to stealth closer to the snake and hobgoblin; as it is on the wall he is a bit frustrated as it has not moved; he stays stealthed underneath and prepares to wait until he can make a stealthed attack on the hobgoblin or if someone engages the snake then the snake.

Well, if I am not online by my turn; then my char will try to determine if the goblins are making a mad rush for the walls, our position, or if they are not; if they are not; will shoot another xbow bolt; if they are; will hide and loose myself in the general confusion of battle to flank and sneak attack a gobby on a nearby party member that gets more than one opponent or gets in trouble; am also keeping an eye out for casters.

Spot: 14+4 = 18
Hide: 17+6 = 23
attack roll if needed; 11+ appropriate
Listen 8 +6 = 14

Dinpel picks a target and tries to fire from concealment figuring that the crossbow bolt will he hard to spot and with all the other excitement he may not be noticed; he fires at an incoming goblin.

uhm; guys; uhm; I am not all tactical and stuff; are we sticking together in this fight all hiding or what; am not much of a stand up fighter and am getting a bit confused; our only advantage over gobbies is a willingness to work together for the sake of all....

well, shore nuff can help yas there though I be not big er strong; can adjust my tactics as needed; with all you big folk around, I doubt any will be lookin to hard in the shadows fer one little guy likes myself;
<jumps down to help with the wagons> we could dig some pits too n fill em with sharp stakes, but wouldnt want any of our folks in a hurry ta step on em; would have to hide em to be effective and we havent really told anyone about it so; might not be a good idea; but I read about some really big pits with spears in em used in a battle a few centuries ago; a failure against trolls, but gave some hill giants a pain in the foot <chuckles>

well, been a long day, might be a long night with running battles; a good soldier is trained to sleep when he can with his squad in shifts; am gonna grab a couple hours. whistle er sumtin ifn things change quickly; gonna cover myself over in dat wagon oer there; in the battle will work like Ava to get their casters, might be better if I get the casters and Ava gets their archers; dont know, we can work it out as the situtation presents itself.

<thoughtful> crossbow bolts for me I suppose; a score er so unless we be skirmishin n not holding a wall, then I'll not care ta be carrying a bunch o pointy sticks. Maybe some rations n bandages; you never know; guess i should refill my drinking skins too.

Wow you guys; this whole place is getting real mobilized like we are expectin an invasion, seems a bit extreme to me, but seems like every son and his dog is running this way an that. Gobbies aren't known for attacking well armed and defended groups without the element of surprize unless they are driven by more powerful masters. Anybody got an inkling of what do be goin on cause I figured we was just chasin a small group dat stole a girl. This kinda reminds me of the story of the Battle of Grondolon pass, course it aint called dat nomore oh, oh or the begining of the Quest for the Heartfang with Duke whatsizname when the mean greenies attacked the outpost of...well, anyway.

This is a bit overwhelming, but exciting...anybody wanna start a contest on which of us gets the most gobbies? We need a prize....<gazed about for a prize>.

Sounds cool; heeh a lot like what I do in my game; I finally implemented that all characters just max all their hps for every level; players are happier and so far it hasnt changed game balance at all, but has increase player actions; I have noted that they are more likely to attempt a heroic action as they believe themselves to be more up to the challenge.

will add one more hp to my guy.

character updated; rolled a 5 on hps; add one more level of spelltheif adds detect magic equal to times of day per charisma bonus and steal spell effect; ie like buffs, that are not typed "personal" in nature as in cannot be cast on others and spellgrace which is +1 saves vs spells. Increase to skills escape artist, hide, move silent, spot, tumble for a increase of 8 skillpoints for level 2.

hmm these flasks dont look big enough to be a fire bomb <counts the flasks> though I suppose the caster <nods> could have enhanced the fire with magic after it got started.
well, we are dealing with the Snake Clan or followers of the snake as it were by their markings; that is good; at least it isnt Broken Toe clan and their fanatic dervishes or the terrible Red Mushroom Clan and their drug induced raging ravangers. I wonder which snake they follow though, hmm, totems of tribes usually mean stuff so watch for poison; maybe we should pick up some herbs to aid with drawing out poison if we continue.

I speak goblin and have feat for extra knowledge hatred of them
11+3skill plus bonus for extra time(dm decide) for descipher script if needed; will tell the party "you know; goblins arent that brilliant, but they are sneaky and crafty; you might check that note over the fire or various lights or put some dust on it or something like that as it may have hidden script; not likely in this case, but always good to practice good habits.

Seeing that the battle seems to be in a lull; Dinpel goes and gets the gobby caster he killed and brings him into the clearing then will line up all the gobby bodies if he has time and begin to search them looking for clan or tribe identification, tattoo's and any valuables and anything of note; given enough time; he will be very careful and open shirts and remove footware and check hair as gobbies are very sneaky and warn any others who do likewise to beware of poison and tell a short off hand story about gobbies he read about that sometimes put venomous snake fangs or such into their armor and gear to pierce the unwary :)

gestures at the caster: this one was a caster of considerable power, this I know both from the spell I took from him that still seeths in my mind and the multiple blasts of arcane energy that tore into me as well are the arcane shadows that cloaked his body, verily, I thought I was dead; also, he was not interested in surrender or talk, sigh, methinks there is more at stake here than a girl and the village should watch to its defenses.

while doing these actions Dinpel grimaces in pain from his wound and sometimes his movements are a bit stiff.

<dm> to not hold up initiative order on my next turn; Dipel will continue to hide and take cover and launch the stolen spell at the nearest spotted goblin as this spell will only be in my characters memory for a couple hours so I want to use it. Please roll damage for the spell for me, thanks as I might not be online during my init and dont want to hold things up. Preference target to anyone I see aiming at ethelwolf if possible.

Dinpel strikes the mage again on his initiative with his mace and is strangely troubled by the thought of taking a life, any life, though this is what he has been trained for by the church and by those who have help engender his racial hatreds. He knows he must take the magic user down before he causes great harm, but he feels pity for the wounded creature.

Attempt to bluff the goblin with semi facts as one more blow is likely to finish him and as a good guy I feel the need to try reason and take prisoners.
