The rogue unsheathes his Short sword, "I think a trap would be our best bet." Then he moves to a position to gain an advantage on whomever would open the door...

Recapping real quick: so we are in a room, the room we assume belongs to this dude bellowing outside? If so...

Dillan motions to the door, "Perhaps we should close the door and lay a trap for this monster?"

"I think the owner might be home now."

Dillan points at the hanger, "Ok so someone...er...something is walking around wearing one of these things. Perhaps we should alert the constable's about this?"

Dillan looks at Sorin, a look of apprehension, "You mean we are going to need to bring these with us?"

"Trophy's?"

"Lets just see if I can figure this one out." Dillan removes his tools from their comfortable resting place, a pouch (of sorts), on his belt. "But first we must always be cautious."

Traps 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22
Disarm if needed 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (16) + 17 = 33
Unlocking lock 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (11) + 16 = 27

Dillan pauses at the door, "How do you mean unwholesome?" he asks as he looks at the jar containing human remains.

And in my mind I'm picturing the little child having a tantrum pounding on the wall. lol.

I'm all for exploring, but we have the other guy tied up in the other room right? Currently left alone and he is the ONLY lead we have to save the beast from being hung. Maybe we should just take him back so we don't lose that. The only other option I see is waiting for the other guy to come back and ambush him, again hoping he doesn't find the tied up guy first.

"As in this entire place? I'm sure there are more of those goons around here and we'll have to deal with them." Dillan pauses before continuing, "Or maybe we should take our current prisoner to the authorities?"

"Maybe we should wait for him to come back and just take the key from him?"

The rogue moves away from the door allowing Barret to make his attempt. In the meantime Dillan will search the room for any keys or anything hidden...

Sorry for my absence, work and school got the best of me.

Dillan looks over the alchemical bottles, clearly confused as to their purpose, and hearing/noticing the other door he moves to a task he does understand...

Checking for Traps 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (2) + 19 = 21
Disable if needed 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (20) + 17 = 37
Unlock the door if needed 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34

"Agreed." The rogue sets about, with assistance, searching the room for any clues...

Perception
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21
with Assistance (+2)= 23
vs Traps (+6)= 29
vs concealed or secret objects (+4)= 27

I'm totally down for that; I just like the opportunity to go over Vorkstag's room without him there and possible lay in wait for him to return.

Once at the door, because one can never be too cautious, Dillan begins his work...

Searching for traps on/around door
1d20 + 19 ⇒ (3) + 19 = 22
If traps are found; remove/disable
1d20 + 17 ⇒ (4) + 17 = 21
Before Opening door take the time to listen for sounds on the other side
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18 + 4 = 22 vs hearing conversations
If nothing is heard; unlock the door if necessary
1d20 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18

"So I assume if he's not in we are just going to wait for him in his room?" Dillan asks as the man is knocked out. "And perhaps we should bind this one?"

"What were Brada's demands?"

"Cleaning up what exactly?"

"I would say he framed the beast," Dillan interjects "But why?"

The battle of the hulk references, lol

With his focus on Sorin and Barret if it is possible to work to a position around behind him; or a place that would put Dillan in a position to be flanking with Barret...

Stealth 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

In addition and if not able to move Dillan will focus on the surroundings...

Perception 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (20) + 13 = 33
+4 = 37 vs hearing conversations,concealed or secret objects
+6 = 39 vs finding traps

Dillan does his best to not let his jaw drap as Barret disrupts the smooth conversation then catches his friends glare and just shrugs.

Dillan whispers to Sorin, "Maybe if he thinks we are here to work or perhaps report of some surprising turn of events with the beast?"

"I don't think I want to see what's making this smell," Dillan pauses to resist his urge to vomit, "and if this is coming from the living I don't think it will get much better when its dead."

"Perhaps we should try the southerly door?" Dillan pauses as the smell confronts him, "Or which ever door is closer. Gods; what's the smell?"


Male Half-Elf Rogue/ 4

"Please lead on Barret." The rogue follows in his place in line.

"Is your plan that I catch him if he falls?" Dillan looks over the larger human then back to Sorin, "You must be joking."


Male Half-Elf Rogue/ 4

Once Barret is safely up and continuing along the way Dillan secures his rope in his pack then catches up with the others.

It was a door at the end of the path correct?

Feeling new strength surge within him; Dillan continues to try to raise the flailing companion from the vat...

Strength 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

I think some assistance rolls might be a good idea.

Dillan strains against the rope...

Strength 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

Dillan quickly removes the rope from his pack and begins lowering it down to Barret, "Grab the rope!" He pauses and turns to the rest on the pathway, "I might need some help hauling him up." Then brings his attention back to Barret and lowering the rope to him.

Acrobatics 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30

The rogue walks around the planks with ease; a true testament to his elven heritage.

"Beast or beasts?" Dillan attempts his best at an intriguing question...

"But that is how we can assist each other," the rogue provides a devilish grin, "You see apparently what ever enters here does not leave here the same. I think perhaps more things like the beast or worse could've been created here."

Sorry for my delay; had connection issues.

"You know I can assist you with that bath." Dillan grins as he winks at Amelia. "Actually I had someone different views on why this place seemed important."

Putting the rag on, "Man this smells disgusting." He moves to the door and opens it going in.

Dillan does his best to cover his mouth and nose and move to acquire enough masks for the group. Once acquired he returns, "Well they seem friendly enough."

"Well. Fortune favors the bold eh?" Dillan casts a wink at Amelia then opens the door, "Excuse me but could we get some of those masks?"


Male Half-Elf Rogue/ 4

"I think diplomacy might work better," Dillan pauses, "After all I don't relish the thought of fighting for a mask in there."

"Perhaps luck will be enough. At least until we can locate a bottle of wine." Dillan smiles, then turning back to the building, "Clearly we need to do something about the smell."

Dillan does he best to regain his composure while his companions keep her attention. He 'eyes' her over, knowing so many keep things hidden, then almost getting lost in her curves...

Perception 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27

"I had a fortune teller tell me once I would meet a lovely woman in an alley." Dillan attempts his best smile, "Looks like an alley to me. Dillan is the name."

Dillan coughs as they exit the facility, bent at the waist, with his hands resting on his knees. He manages to get out "That...is...truly...repulsive..." between coughs before noticing the new faces outside. "I wouldn't recommend entering that place."

Dillan does his best to hide the discomfort with these 'masks' and places it on. "So what is you need us to do?"

"Something to control that smell." The rogue utters through hacking coughs. Then looking at the ground before him, his last few meals laying upon it, "And perhaps something to eat once my stomach settles."
