Long ago, during the age of Xin, the first King of Thassilon, he had a sect of loyal servants called the Silent Devotees. These beings were from classes of Monks and Sorcerers but were required to cut out their own tongues to symbolize their devotion to their lord. The first of the sect, unknown to themselves, were magically gifted by Xin to be forever able to protect Xin's interests. Upon Xin's self initiated destruction numerous effects were triggered. One of these were being the gift upon his original Silent Devotees. Some of the energy released by Xin at his destruction flowed in conduits to these twelve initiates. Six monks and six Sorcerers were infused with immortality and an engrained compulsion to follow Xin's tenants and goals. Furthermore, their physical forms were transcended maintaining their original physical features but becoming titans with rune infused flesh and bone. There eyes glow green and they speak telepathically in tongues.

You have been found by one of the successful initiates who have gained Ascension through trials set by these Silent Devotees. Your guide offers to set you upon a path that will both aid the Silent Devotees and gain you Ascension to better serve your deity.

You submit yourself to the will of this Ascended and you are teleported to long forgotten and lost monastery which is all but ruins.

There is a thorn in my side gamers. The ever elusive epic beasts these days roam free, with no real heroes to keep them in check. Where are all the epic bard tales of late of all powerful beings hunting down such beasts and confronting them.

Well, with the birth of Pathfinder and the preference to cap out at 15th level characters, what is to happen with those amazingly powerful and famous monsters/beings out in the world now? Do we just leave them as a distant memory recalled only in knowledge checks? This pains me and for someone who has run a game up to 16th level I do understand the pain and energy required to take on the last quarter of the score of levels for a character. This is pretty much epic level play these days due to its elusiveness and rarity. Well, what if we simplify it. There are no hard Paizo produced Pathfinder adventures for 15th - 20th level that I have been able to find so I am thinking of an alternative. I want to experience these 'epic' encounters and beasts/monsters and will DM it if needed.

I propose that instead of a continued adventure path which is hard to GM, the PCs undertake a trial named Trophies of Ascension. At 15th level, characters may undertake a trial. They travel to an ancient monastery not devoted to any particular deity and rather the entire pantheon of gods. Due to this, they channel power from an infinite and immortal pool of powerful energies which affords them divining powers among other powers. These all powerful titans, the immortal monks facilitate the trial. The trial is a to collect trophies from beasts/monsters and return them to the monks. This trial will take you from 15th to 20th level and if you succeed you will ascend mortality and become an agent of your deity. However, bound to the restrictions of the titan immortals, you will root out more creatures for future trials or locate and guide candidates to take the trial. Your choices after ascension are in your deities favor and to your deities benefit.

This effectively removes the complexity of writing an actual campaign but still gives you access as a party to encounter some famous and infamous foes. I know this doesn't cater to all who lover character development above all else as not following an adventure path may seem slightly hollow to some but it's not going to be to everyone's liking.

This is an opportunity to take a beloved character, retired at 15th level and see it progress to an ultimate state.

Feedback please.

You are goblins of the Licktoad tribe, who live deep in Brinestump Marsh, south of the hated man-town called Sandpoint. Once, other goblins tried to burn Sandpoint down, and they would have been legends if they had succeeded. But they didn’t bring enough fire, and got themselves killed as a result. Yesterday, your tribe discovered that one of your own had been using forbidden arts and was engaged in one of the greatest of taboos—writing things down. In fact, rumor holds that what he was writing was a history of your tribe! There’s no swifter way to bring about bad luck than stealing words out of your mind by writing them down, and so your tribe had no choice. You branded the goblin’s face with letters to punish him, which is why everyone calls him Scribbleface now, and then you ran him out of town, took all of his stuff, and burned down his hut.

That’s where things got interesting, because before you all burned down his hut, Chief Gutwad found a weird box within the building. Inside was a map and a lot of fireworks—fireworks that immediately came to use in burning the hut down. Then, this morning, Gutwad announced that tonight there would be a feast in order to drive out any lingering bad luck from Scribbleface’s poor decisions. But perhaps even more exciting, all of you have been secretly invited to meet at Chief Gutwad’s Moot House. Why would the chief want to speak to you? It can only mean that he’s got an important mission for you all... one that the other goblins of the tribe couldn’t pull off. This could be your chance to go down in Licktoad history!

Hey guys. Just post a comment in here when you have your PC created and are ready to get started.

Private Group. Player's already acquired externally.

Hi all. Lost a PC in the Second Darkness Campaign.

They did specifically state a Dwarven Fighter would be good but in all honesty, anyone melee that can soak up hits and deal some damage is good.

You will need a Flickr.com account to join my group for mapping.

PCs are Level 1 still but post progression is daily and we would ask the same of anyone who cares to join. If 90% of the time you can make posts daily then please go to my recruitment string and put your hand up.

It's just like any other day in Riddleport as it is in any other city of the world. People mill about for their own reasons with motivations and goals like any other being out there, yet in Riddleport, the 'average' citizens' means of achieving their goals is not what most in Golarion would coin to be congenial. Even though the city is moving toward a more civilized order, it is still a city birthed on piracy and raiding and this be the reason why Riddleport so thrives! One may build wealth to last him a lifetime yet many covet the success of the 'lucky' few who do, so heed well all ye prospectors, protect that which you glean with your blood, sweat and wit.

As all residents and visitors well know, a shadow has lingered in the sky near town for many weeks now. That is to say that enough time has passed that business must continue as normal, lest those distracted from their own concerns, give opportunity to the focused and relentlessly motivated. The scholars and cyphers make it their business however and the influx of academics to Riddleport to study both the Blot and the Cyphergate has stirred the cauldron of commerce and palms are itching about every corner.

There are some particular souls within Riddleport at this time who are either desperate to make a swift gold purse or are interested in turning a quick profit. Whatever the point of view of the individual matters not to the owner of Golden Goblin Gaming Hall who is organizing a gala to celebrate the reopening of his grand investment. In almost every tavern and inn commons in town there are flyers posted spurring rowdy discussions about ones luck in fortune and whether it be ample enough to enter and win. This seems to have increased of late, the tabletop gambling and swindling in all districts by those trying to earn a purse enough to buy entry to the tourney.

Before you Post:
See discussion thread for your character please.

Those characters ready to join and approved, post here to add your chosen toon to the campaign.

Having not found an online game available at this point in time I have considered attempting to GM the Second Darkness AP with PF conversions.

I will be eventually running this AP for my actual RP group once we complete Legacy of Fire. I have GM'd in social 3.5 and PF with my relaxed RP group.

I have not had much experience with pbp so anyone who can give me some advice about tackling as a GM please feel free to do so.

Also, expressions of interest would be great too. Kicking off at lvl 1 of course and i would be aiming to post nightly.
