Back over here, Wes said we should start statting up some metagame artifacts.
So here's a starter thread for those intrepid enough to take up his mighty challenge! :)

Celephais wrote: Well, just to demonstrate that there are still folks who know how to do Free RPG Day right, I stopped in at my FLGS (Grand Cities Games in Grand Forks, ND) and picked up the module. No participation necessary, though I did pick up a Rite Publishing product in the spirit of supporting the store! Grand Cities Games was always awesome when it came to Free RPG Day. My wife and I used to have stuff set aside for us so we didn't have to be there at door opening! We'd make our way over and Rob would pull out the goods for us! We made sure to buy something else that day too.

I'm in a similar position here. I love the direction this set is going and I completely understand where the pricing is coming from, but I can't really swing the whole deal at one time this go round. So I might grab a brick or so and then pick the rest up in bits and pieces. :)

These are incredibly awesome to check out. I love Shalelu, but I'm a sucker for a good ranger-y type mini. Also, I don't think I'd ever seen Seoni's back before.

Holy wow. Open playtest of RPGSS entries? That is definitely a way to find out what works and what doesn't!
Huge twist and totally Paizo!

I'm so glad that these stone giants are more than just large sized, block grey giants with a club stuck in midswing. I've got plenty of stone giants stuck in that pose. And none actually throwing a dang stone.
Now, there's one rock thrower, a spear wielder and a magic using one?! Are you guys crazy?? YOU CAN'T ROCK THE STATUS QUO!!

Would you be able to take the entire set, put them on a desk or a table (the one in the library room perhaps?) arrange them in a big battle royale and then take some action pictures?
Including the black dragon. Can't forget that one either. :)
It's amazing to see these guys in the perfect preview image, but there's just something about seeing a big, huge set of minis all laid.

I love that the guard has a lantern. I can't remember the last time I encountered or really ran a guard in a town that wasn't at night when they needed it the most. Nice touch.
The orc brute is badass. Good job!

Erik Mona wrote: I need to make sure all of the new babies and stuff are visited first, and I only have 5 days to fit in a ton of stuff. They brew their own beer now. So after you have visited new babies and gotten your fill, you can eat a burger and drink a new beer. It's the perfect fix for having been crawled all over by new babies. ;)

Sara Marie wrote: Do spinning dart boards have "bottoms"? At any single point in time, an object moving can be defined as having a top and a bottom relative to another plane (such as a floor and ceiling of a room).
So, yes.
But given time and the motion of the object, that bottom can be rapidly changing and incredibly hard to hit. ;)

Wolfgang Baur wrote: Well, I asked James Jacobs to write it, and he did. It's not the first time we've had a Paizo author in Kobold Quarterly, and certainly not the last: they do great stuff.
So... I'm not sure how much closer the ties between Open Design and Paizo can be without me taking a job with the Paizo crew. It's great working with them, and bringing some previews to KQ.
It's really great to have this kind of material. It makes me want KQ more and miss Dragon just a little less. :)
