Silver Crusade

Male Human 2nd Level Red Mage (Magus)

Go ahead and DMPC me for a bit or NPC me. I had to do some training, and my job is sending me overseas for a while. I'll let you know when I have net access again.

Male Human 2nd Level Red Mage (Magus)

A natural 0ne on a listen check...some lookout i'm turning out to be.

The red mage internally shook his head. Magic was not different tha any other tool that man and the gods had wielded. It's affect on the world was greatly exaggerated by both the church and best practiced mages. A shame to see how the people were so superstitious.

"I will not caste anymore in front of you then, but be warned, magic has no will of it's own", the redmage instructed the worried driver. Ignorance was not th bliss that every mage made it out to be.

"reprieve from the cold aire I can provide", the red clad warrior mage evenly said. No aires of haughtyiness, as many clad with Mage Academy seals often exhumed. Just the pragmatism of a mercenary weighted his words; magic was just another tool, it didn't make him think himself better than others.

Raising his left hand to those in the caravan seeking comfort, Deylon poised the out stretched hand, formed a fist, then snapped. "esti digit a tion pra", he said and the air warmed, partially.

With hazel eyes catching the fading sunlight, The red mage returned to watching for the driver. He listened in on the conversation, but was patiently vigilant on their trip.

spell casting:
Prestidigitations are minor tricks that novice spellcasters use for practice. Once cast, a prestidigitation spell enables you to perform simple magical effects for 1 hour. The effects are minor and have severe limitations. A prestidigitation can slowly lift 1 pound of material. It can color, clean, or soil items in a 1-foot cube each round. It can chill, warm, or flavor 1 pound of nonliving material. It cannot deal damage or affect the concentration of spellcasters. Prestidigitation can create small objects, but they look crude and artificial. The materials created by a prestidigitation spell are extremely fragile, and they cannot be used as tools, weapons, or spell components. Finally, prestidigitation lacks the power to duplicate any other spell effects. Any actual change to an object (beyond just moving, cleaning, or soiling it) persists only 1 hour.

The character's clothes have been warmed as per the warming affect.

Deylon looks from the they bench of the coach towards the town. He is sitting "crossbow", as he is the look out for the driver. currently he is traveling for the year as part of the field experience needed to attend officer's school. While the church had offered him a fairly lucrative postion as a travelign gaurd. The Red Mage postponed that, at least till he saw more of the world with an unbiased eye.

"Is that a normal ammount of smoke for this village", Delon asks the driver. He could never tell with the small villages, as he grew up in mercinary camps accustomed to making little use of great fires.

I think for ease of play and flow of story we should assume to be travelign together or part of the same contingent. I'll hold on my post till we know there is consensus.

Let's go to the ooc thread with this ^^

Interesting background Alaire now I'm just waiting for Zerig and the others to check the final details and start this game ^^

This isn't the OOCS thread?

I'm still having some issues with how brave and faith work. I understand how it worked in the game series, though it was only used in FFT. I think it offer's too many penalties, unless this going to be a strictly combat game, even still skills are useful in combat.

I would not trade an attack bonus for all those penalties. Magic, and enhancments more than make up for it. Faith increasing DCs and decreasing Saves turns spells in to rocket tag even earlier.

Brave to have a focus on gameplay without taking away from the non combat aspects can apply to CMB & CMD and maybe yield bonus HP

10 Brave = +0 CMB, +0 CMD, +1HP
15 Brave = +0 CMB, +1 CMD, +2HP
20 Brave = +1 CMB, +1 CMD, +3HP
25 Brave = +1 CMB, +1 CMB, +4HP

and so on..

I think if you want to have faith work like it does in the game treat it like having empowered magic in effect at all times

10 Faith = 1.0 multiplier
15 Faith = 1.20 mulitplier
20 Faith = 1.40 multiplier

and so on...

Brave and Faith still have an impact on combat and spells, but add to the game and not take from it. That's my two-cents though.

We have 30 points to build with Deiros said last I remember, I think your total was 27 or so unless I mixed up my own math.

15 = 7
15 = 7
15 = 7
12 = 2
12 = 2
12 = 2
Total: 27

Not counting racial bonus. So three more points to splash around. Putting Con or Wis to 14 wouldn't be bad. :)

Going with the boost to Con, the extra HP will likely be useful.

Yeah I'm stupid. I'll add you and try get in touch tomorrow or soon as I can this weekend.

I kept track of my equipment weight since I wasn't told otherwise. It made armor selection really difficult since I wanted really protective, but getting both protective and light is difficult to do.

Deylon, I might be wrong but I think you missed spending 3 stat points btw. Just noticed.

Also realized I need to factor in my Brave/Faith scores to stats still.

I built on 25, i'll check the numbers again, but if that'ls the case, Wis and Con are getting a boost.

Adaptable here too. Sadly I don't have yahoo, just msn and skype at the moment.

I'll have the last of my character description and bio posted tomorrow, feel free to shoot ideas at me. It's late and I managed to finish the rest besides those, but time for bed.

I can't view the sheet either, don't have the permission.

yahoo and msn are cross compatable fyi

Silver Crusade

I'm adaptable. If you have yahoo, heroic_blue_collar_punk is my handle.

Armor: Mwk Chain Shirt (100gp)

Pretty sure a masterwork chain shirt costs more than 100 gp. :) Otherwise looks good.

I'm nearly done. Also been chatting with Zendragoon, think we'll tie our backgrounds together a bit (Summary: My noble family ended up taking in the members of his family as servants when they ran into bad luck) if that is alright Deiros? He also switched his class to ninja sounds like.

On that note, any other players want to weave together backgrounds some and make the characters have other connections if it's allowed?

Thought, I deleted the mwk...I already apply the ACP.

fixed.

Silver Crusade

Should be good now...next time I'm just making a character sheet though of my plothook.

Interesting background Deylon ^^ but I edited my prior post to add something on skills and that would also apply to saves and AC for simplicity sake when reviewing were everything is and were do they come from.

Example.

AC 20, touch 12, flat 18 (+2 Dex, +2 H. shield, +6 breastplate)
Fort +3 (+2 Con, +1 Trait) Base save I don't need to see it that is simple enough xD

All right...fixed the gold...added spells.

I'll do the breakdown when I have time tonight.

Deylon you have maximum starting gold for magus not the by level gold ^^ but I think that other than those minor details its fine.

Starting gold IF I remember correctly is 4d6x10 = 240 gold I think maximum

Mark your skill that are class skills or rather put a *Acrobatics on those that are not class skills to track them easier ^^

All right...I'll fix that all after work.

Testing for approval

Just have to select spells
