(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

Deerian seems to follow his sister's example and relaxes a lot after the board the ship. There is an extra spring in his step and whilst he lets his sister do most of the talking to the captain the young man is attentive. After the meal he helps out with the crew, getting to know them, and staying up until his sister retires. Taking up a position outside her berth Deerian finds somewhere comfortable to sleep where he can guard his sister.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

"Benefor are you sure you know anything about tactical situations or anything else you claim to know about? It's most rude to question someones competance or do you do so for everyone?"

Have we got the needed crew secured by the time the others arrive at the tower?

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

Yup we had some connection problems and we do need to get that crazy ship secured :) We'll make our excuses and head off for the wacky world of skyship admin.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

"We should be ok to keep her up.. The elemental does the work so a small watch should be fine. I don't want to speak for Elli.. Ellirayne but for myself I can make ready to leave as soon as a ship is prepared."

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

"I'm not too sure that it would be that uncommon.. Passage is a reasonably sized City but if you really think it's a problem then Fairhaven is between the two and as the captial we should be safe." Deerian looked at his sister awaiting her counsel. "But I would quite like to keep a quick way out around me all things considered."

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

Politely refusing the offered seat the young man took up his accustomed positioned slightly behind his sister's chair. Formality was his friend today and going through the standard routines was a comfort. Listening to all that was discussed Deerian couldn't help but feel a little lost.

Still things needed to be done. With a gentle touch to let his sister know all was well Deerian collects some water, and some wine, for them both. They would probably need it soon.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

Making an effort to match his sister Deerian dresses almost formally and makes sure his hair is bound back in a warrior's tail. Still one of the things he took the most care over was his sword. Something he was sure he would need sooner or later.

Still there was nothing left to do but meet the others. Hopefully this would go better than he expected it would. Escorting Elli into the tavern the twins approach the plotting group. Stopping a polite distance away he waits for them to be invited to join the group.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

"Possibly.. I don't see we have much choice to be at least reasonably open though. But we shall have to see how it goes i guess. Do you think we'll be invited over to the planning session?" As he speaks his hand finds it's way to the hilt of his sword. Would he be good enough to stop Flash when they found him?

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

I know he's just at a bit of a loss and a little restless.

Listening to the mental conversation Deerian takes a seat to allow him to concentrate on the talk and on Flash's riddle. All he could think of was the House's holdings but would Flash really run there? It didn't seem too likely but then they didn't know much of the man anyway. "So Elli.. Do you think we meet the others and see if any of them are riddlers? This is all beyond me really. You know i was never good at riddles."

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

"Wingy you do remember we can hear those thoughts don't you? Could you please not refer to my sister and myself in our minds as if we are not there."

Rolling his eyes at his sister Deerian continues to poke through some of Flash's things in the vauge but misplaced hope of finding something anything really that would give him a good clue of where to start.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

"Possibly.. But the reason we are all linked is due to something Flash had.. and well with the games he's been playing I don't trust that he didn't know what the rings were. We're linked and if it was his doing then they're involved anyway." He shrugs a little. "I think their help may prove useful and besides think of the distraction they would cause with mind talk whilst we tried to follow a seperate path to them."

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

At all the magic games that Flash had played on them Deerian felt his temper rise. However as his twin vented her own anger he realised that it would be best to wait. Ellie would need him in control of himself. Besides his weapon tutors had always told him that anger was something to be used not something to control you. A lesson he had difficulty with at times.

Wrapping his sister in a hug he says softly, "He'll pay for what he's done. No matter who he really is.. and we'll get mother back. Then when we do we'll claim his ship as our own and go explore for a time."

With a sigh he stands back and contemplates everything else that was going on. "I think we'll have to talk to the others and see what help they can be. We'll need some help i think in the tracking down of Flash.. and possibly some help with this clue."

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

On waking Deerian just lies in bed eyes closed as he hears his sister get ready for the day. Hopefully today they would be able to look at repairing the disaster that their life had turned into. In reasonably short order the young man slipped from his bed and quickly got changed into a simple outfit with only the quality of the cloth denoting his families position. Slipping into a seat opposite his sister Deerian looks at his twin for a moment in silence.

"Are we ready for breakfast before we face the day?" He seems determined for at least a while to ignore the voices in his head.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

Relieved of the compulsion Deerian just manages not to draw his blade and run the preening fool through. Placing one arm around his sister's shoulder the angry young man walks them both from the building.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

"Silias has already had an apology and I have admitted I acted rashly. However you will not get one as you stand there and threaten my sister." Indeed the young man would welcome the watch at this point as soon he would loose the last of his self restraint.

Sorry for the edit. Trying to work out a way of not making this go too horribly wrong

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

Will Save (1d20+3=14) Oh and the +2 for enchantments as well

Sitting, as well he doesn't have much choice, Deerian glares at the elf the desire for blood in his eyes. "A harmless compulsion.. Think nothing of it.. How about a harmless compulsion to be truely honest with everyone here? Is that a fine compulsion that hurts no-one? Where does it end once you start deciding what to make people do?"

"To give in to my anger was wrong but so is a superior attitude that makes someone think they can decide what to make other do."

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

He thanks for the reminder. It should still be an ok punch but with finesse that would be four higher.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

"The was nothing tonight that was in any way tastefull. Although from a painted popinjay I would expect nothing less. But when you threaten people and people don't know your intent bad things can happen. Like those blessed with magic standing up for those you pretend to threaten." Wanting nothing more than to release his feelings in a violent outburst Deerian sends out a quick thought. "I am truely sorry Sillas."

"Oh and indeed I would love to dance with you but it's best if I don't draw steel at this party." With that the young man swings a punch at the arrogant elf. Punch (1d20+1=17) Dmg (1d3+0=3)

"Oh look I guess your magic left some residual compulsions."

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

Although far from enjoying the oddness of the party Deerian followed his sister's lead and politely endulged in the food offered. Still it was best to keep quiet even after the 'scene' with the cook being threatened.

Things took a slightly better turn when people got up to dance. Falling gracefully into the familiar pattern's the young man enjoyed the simplicity of this moment.

Perform Dance (1d20+3=22)

As the compulsion faded the young half elf bowed politley to his sister as she quickly left. Quickly casting a simple cantrip he sent a whispered message to his departing sibling.

Elli and people close enough to hear the whisper

Spoiler:

"Elli be ok. Come get me when you need me."

Having been made angry enough as he realised there had been a compulsion in the dance the young man was filled with rage at the response it caused in his sister. Taking a moment to calm himself and let an icy cold take over his anger Deerian walked calmly towards the gaily dressed minstral.

"Pardon my intrusion.. I sat by whilst you danced your extravigant tastless performance but by what right do you put any sort of compulsion on people.. even one so simple as to dance. It breaches all form of etiquette." Although he keeps his words polite his anger was visable in his eyes.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

Deerian watches the 'entertainment' in a slightly bemused fashion. He could have really done without more oddness today. It all seemed a little sinister and that set him on edge. Still he had a duty to perform so before Elli partook in anything the young half elf made sure he tried the fare first.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

"We do so try not to cause much disruption.. Still i'm sure we can all agree that the most important thing is that Sillas enjoys his party. After all that is why everyone is here.. No one would want to make the event more about them." He speaks quietly and even manages to keep his tone from being too accusitory. Afterall it had been a trying day and the young noble's nerves were quite frayed.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

Immaculatly dressed Deerian steps off the coach and with a wary eye looks round the carnage. Hmm intersting. "I hope you're day is going well. Many happy returns." His voice seems a tad distant and he hovers protectivly near his sister.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

House Lyrandar

Spoiler:

"That might be for the best... What a day! Still after we contact him I think we need to think about how to track down mother.." Making sure that he keeps close to his sister the twins head off to make contact with the rest of the House.

Dan just to let you know we're happy to jump ahead a little if you'd like to see if we can meet back with the others.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

House Lyrandar

Spoiler:

Once they are alone the young man wraps his arms around his beloved sister again. After holding her for a moment he steps back now looking a little calmer. "I think it best if we contact Mercury first.. Maybe someone not completely linked to father would be best to contact those poor workers... I'm not sure i'd be able to find the right words."

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

House Lyrandar

Spoiler:

Bristling as the arrogant Inspector completely missed his point Deerian remained quiet until they were leading his father off. It was that or draw steel for the impulsive young man. That would be a bad idea. "Father we will take care of everything until this is sorted out. Once the compulsion is taken from you it will be easier. Oh and Inspector? We don't know for certain that it was directly Flash's fault.. However he is in the company of our mother so caution will be needed."

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

House Lyrandar

Spoiler:

Bristling at the man's words and demeanor Deerian rises to his feet. Looking the man directly in the eyes he speaks in a voice laced with steel. "Inspector.. You are of the watch but this house and indeed this tower on which you stand is the province of the House Lyrandar and this man is it's Lord. Treat him with respect!"

His jaw tightening as he held the inspector's gaze the young man eventually breaks the eye contact. "We will of course help but please magic has been used here and it might be best to announce your intentions before casting spells... Things have been tense.

"

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

House Lyrandar

Spoiler:

Having been speaking quietly to his father Deerian looked up and nodded at his sister's words. "I'd hoped that we'd be able to go to them... You're right we'd best get as cleaned up as we can. The most important thing is to make clear this tragic event was a mystic compulsion."

Activating the magic of the ring once more the young man turned to his father. "We'll make sure that the truth is know father.."

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

House Lyrandar

Spoiler:

"I know father... We'll do all we can to help make this right.. Surely the rest of the house will help.." Looking sadly at his father he forces another weak smile before turning to Elli.

"Of course i'll stay but could you get some water before you head off.. if only so we can clean up a little."

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

House Lyrandar

Spoiler:

"I know father..." Saying the command for the ring once more Deerian looked sadly upon his father. "This must be hard but we'll make sure that you stay afloat.." Turning to his sister he offered her another small smile. Hopefully they could find a more permanent solution.

However things still needed to be done and so with reluctance he carries on attempting to secure his father.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

House Lyrandar

Spoiler:

Helping his sister move their father away from the treasure Deerian casts his eyes around for something to possibly restrain his elder. "Father.. I hate to have to say this but the magic that cleared your mind only lasts so long.. We.. We should restrain you while we can.. I don't want you to loose control and try and hurt Elli whilst ill."

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

House Lyrandar

Spoiler:

Returning the embrace Deerian attempts to create enough distance to look into his father's face. "I know father.. You've been effected by something.. But we don't have too much time.. Please what has happened and where is mother?" His voice was raw with his conflicting emotions.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

House Lyrandar

Spoiler:

Holding out the hand wearing the ring Deerian stepped closer to his father. "It is a treasure for you father. Something to help you keep all that you are and have."

Deerian is actually telling the complete truth with this. At least that is how he sees it. He's a little too honest to try and lie to his father. If his father reaches for the ring he'll say the command word.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

House Lyrandar

Spoiler:

Slipping the ring onto his finger Deerian starts to make his way towards his father. "Father I have something for you." He attempts to walk up to the older man.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

House Lyrandar

Spoiler:

Following his sister's command Deerian took a few steps backwards. Thank goodness she's back he thinks to himself. The time without his sister had unsettled the young man more than a little. Standing next to Elli he waited for the ring and the command to activate it. This wasn't something he'd risk her for.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

House Lyrandar

Spoiler:

As his father appeared to at least be no current danger Deerian was content to keep an eye on his father and let the older man distract himself. Hopefully Elli wouldn't be too long or he might have to go for plan B.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

House Lyrandar

Spoiler:

Sense Motive (1d20+2=11)
Keeping quiet for the moment Deerian despaired at his fathers demeanour. With a sigh the young swordsman's hand inched closer to the hilt of his rapier.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

House Lyrandar

Spoiler:

"Father! Look at this unseemly behaviour! You would punish us for acting in such a fashion. You are Lord of this tower.. Remember that and act like the Lord I know you are! You're embaressing your name and that of our mother!" Deerian had had enough. This was a ridiculous situation and so not something he would expect of his father. As soon as he is able he once again moves towards his father.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

House Lyrandar

Spoiler:

Walking forward slowly Deerian opens his arms slightly. "Father what do you mean they are in there? It's a very small box.. Please put down your sword.. or do you wish to treat me in the same way as the guards?" As he speaks the young half-elf's voice is gentle and filled with sadness. He hoped that he would not have to draw his sword on this man but his father was crazed and the young man needed to know his mother was safe.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

House Lyrandar

Spoiler:

His heart going cold at the servants announcement Deerian is happy to take his sisters hand and with her the pair rush up to the dock. Struggling to keep his emotions and thoughts to himself. Family issues were for the family after all.

The scene that they come across when they arrive brings him up short. Going cold he lets go of his sister's hand and takes a defensive stance in front of her. Still he is yet to draw his sword. Taking a breath to try and calm his nerves Deerian looks upon his father with cold eyes. "Father! What have you done? You are better than this by far.. Put up your sword. Where is mother and your brother?"

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

With a polite smile and a look of murder in his eyes Deerian bows to the smirking man. "Why thank you." Gently the young man turns his attention back to his sister and attempts to wake her with a splash of cold water. Hopefully it would wake her still to try and help he gives his twin a soft shake.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

"Flash is a member of my family and something of a sorcerer.. He may be able to help guide us.." At the suggestion to slap his sister and being called silly the young half-elf's features stiffen.

"I will not be slapping my sister and nor will anyone else.. However if someone can get me some water I will try a more gentle option."

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

Quickly grabbing his twin as she falls Deerian almost looses his grip as the scream tears through his mind. Fighting to keep his thoughhts to himself the young man lowers his sister to the ground and quickly checks that she's breathing.

As Iri rushes round his head snaps to look at her. "I have no idea. But we need to make sure they're ok.. Go grab one of the staff and tell them to go to the Ten Tier and ask for Flash. He needs to get here now!"

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

Having stood quietly behind his sister chair for most of the conversation Deerian thought it best to speak or they might possibly think him mute.

"We don't know how many rings there may be.. although when we first found them someone made their presence felt and then would not answer again.. I don't suppose it was anyone here?"

At the sound of Dahl's response in his mind the young man frowned. This certainly wasn't a voice he liked being in contact with.

Will Save (1d20+3=22)

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

Unlike his sibling the elegant young man's look is one of caution. Could they really trust anyone here? Afterall it was his duty to protect his sister. Speaking softly in response to her whisper he says "I certainly hope that won't happen... Family honour and all that."

As the waitress speaks he nods polietly in agreement and then frowns a little at the new mental communication. "Ah I take it that some of the others have already arrived then."

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

"As my sister has said we will be there shortly. We should be reasonably easy to spot.. We might even be able to go to a bar to obtain a drink if things are a little too strained."

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

"Cassio.. Please try and hold back those dishonorable intentions. Please would everyone introduce themselves if they haven't already done so. It should hopefully save all sorts of confusion that might occur here."

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

A polite but slightly aggrivated voice speaks "Good morning.. Please could you provide your name.. I am a Scion of House Lyrandar. Our minds seem to be linked."

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

"I'm kind of used to you but other voices that invade my life? That might be a little much." Although his words might sound a little harsh to some it was obvious that no harm was intended. As if on cue however a new voice sounded in his mind. Nodding agreement to Elli's rant he politely sent out a thought "Good morning.. Please could you provide your name.. I am a Scion of House Lyrandar. Our minds seem to be linked."

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

After briefly saying goodbye to Flash the young man watches the older mount the stairs. "So sister... what do you make of all this? I'm completely at a loss." He spoke softly but now that they were alone the slight defferential tone was gone.

(Male Half Elf Fighter 1/Sorcerer 1)

With his dear sister's hand on his arm Deerian shook off the last of the ill will. It was afterall a small thing in some respects. The family was his home and that wouldn't change. "We certainly have had a busy day.. chock full of suprises and we have you to thank for that Flash. It should be fun to see where the wind takes us this time."
