Please answer the following:
What does character look like?
-- A mischievious smirk and a shock of red hair Dayenn can look as harmless as an interior decorator one minute and like he might eat your young the next.
Where is the character's family?
-- His parents left him a tidy inheritance before they passed on which he has almost completely spent on his studies. He has been intending to propose to the lovely young woman who prepares his meals but hasn't got around to it and besides, his studies really should come first.
What is his greatest love?
-- His studies into the human mind. Dayeen holds some radical beliefs about the human mind and our ability to control it. He is convinced that through an authoritative voice and certain hand gestures he could gain control over the minds of others.
What is his greatest regret?
-- Sharing his ideas to early with others at the bardic college in Kartakass which earned him nothing but scorn. "Those dim-witted, song slinging little street waifs have no idea ... no idea! of the power they have neglected!!"
What makes his skin crawl?
-- Unconsciousness. He is terrified of the idea of being alive and yet unable to move or be aware of his surroundings. He dislikes sleep and avoids alcohol.
What is his greatest shame?
-- He has 'tested' out some of his 'mind-control' abilities on those of weak character and morals in his neighbourhood. But we don't need to sully ourselves with that conversation.
What fascinates your character?
-- The way people think and how little they seem to understand themselves.
What are his habits?
-- He is in the habit of sitting at his desk writing for much of the day. He visits the library after lunch and unless he finds work by an unusually bright scholar who shares his interest, returns in disgust before dinner time. For relaxation, he sometimes takes his desk out on the balcony and works from there.
What are his secrets?
-- See his greatest shame above.
Is he rational or passionate?
-- He is both. He makes passionate intuitive leaps but then tries to prove them using reason.
Is he sophisticated or superstitious?
-- Superstition is a weakness of character and probably demonstrates his theory that 'we know not ourselves'
How strong is his faith?
-- He has great faith in his academic theories but little else. There may be gods but they have little time for one another.
How self-confident is your character?
-- He borders on arrogance when it has anything to do with intellectual matters but he believes in the value of listening (as a research method and a cure) which tempers his arrogance.
What drives your character to adventure?
-- He has given up on all known scholars and has begun to seek those hidden pockets of knowledge. Surely someone must have travelled on this intellectual voyage before. ... Recently, he has read some writing by a colleague about a man named Marius D'Armon who has similar interests to him.
