There are now at least two feats in the game that "graduate" to the Leadership feat: Squire in Knights of the Inner Sea, and Torchbearer in the Dungeoneer's Handbook. I have seen nothing that indicates that you cannot take both feats.

So -- did I miss something there? If the feats are incompatible with each other, then we do not have to worry about the consequences of taking both.

But if I did not miss anything, what happens when a character ends up with the Leadership feat more than once? The worst case I can see would involve a character taking Squire at 3rd level and Torchbearer at 7th level, then taking the Noble Scion prestige class at 6th level. In that case, the Squire feat graduates to Leadership at 7th level, the same level at which a 2nd level Noble Scion caan receive Leadership as a free bonus feat. Then at 8th level the Torchbearer feat graduates to Leadership yet again.

So does this character effectively have 3 instances of Leadership, or does one of the cohorts disappear? This feat combination and others like it that are likely to be published in the future looks like it could be a can of worms.

I thought this might be a good place to mention any unexpected choices of mythic paths that anyone might be considering.

My player character is a summoner (and thus an arcane spellcaster) who generally distrusts the gods. I was rather surprised when I read through the different mythic paths and reached the conclusion that his best choice would be -- the Hierophant! While many of the path abilities make direct refernce to divine spells, that restriction still leaves him with plenty of abilities to pick for enhancing his eidolon.

Does anyone else see themselves going with unexpected mythic path choices?

I thought I recalled seeing something that said that a cohort cannot take the Leadership feat, but I recently took a look at the rules and found no direct statement to that effect.

I can think of several reasons why it might be undesirable (from the point of view of player or DM) to have a cohort recruit a cohort and followers of his own, but my question is whether there is any specific rule addressing that topic.

The situation I am dealing with involves an NPC who has become attached to our party. That NPC originally befriended my PC's cohort, so there is already a bond of sorts between the two. I was originally thinking of having my PC take the Extra Cohort 3rd party feat, but then it struck me that having my cohort take the Leadership feat would be a more natural solution if it is allowed.

Either way, the 2nd cohort would be limited to 4 levels below my PC's level barring the use of 3.5 or 3rd party material.

So -- is there any reason that a cohort cannot take the Leadership feat?

Let us assume that we have a serpentine eidolon with limbs (arms) and claws. Here are some related questions:

1) The eidolon has a bite attack by default. Can you add a gore attack without adding a second head?

2) The eidolon has a tail slap attack by default. Can you add a sting attack without adding a second tail?

3) Can you add a slam or pincers attack without adding more limbs?

4) If the answer to any of these question is "Yes", can you use both attacks from the same body part or just one or the other?

Prior to the publication of Ultimate Magic, I would have assumed that the answer to questions 1 and 4 is yes and that the answer to questions 2 and 3 is no. Now I am not so sure, since an answer of "Yes" to question 1 would seem to make the head evolution pointless.

What do the rest of you think?

And has there ever been any official word on these questions?

In my Pathfinder game, I recently acquired a Hat of Disguise. If I read the item description correctly, I can put it on my eidolon's head and have her disguise herself as an Aasimar -- with the result that she would be more human looking than my Half-Elf Summoner.

However, at later levels I would like to make her size Large and then size Huge. What do I do then? Are there any magic items that will enable a creature to change size for an hour or more at a time? Or am I pretty much stuck with whatever size I make her until I cast Reduce Person (which only allows a change of one category and has a short duration) or until I gain a level or cast Transmogrify (both of which take a long time to reverse)?
