Science fiction the way you love it!
Reign of Discordia is the core setting book in line of the same name by the celebrated game designer Darrin Drader and Reality Deviant Publications. RoD gives you what you need to know about the galactic civilization following the fall of the Stellar Imperium. Future sourcebooks and adventures will further add to the dynamic space opera setting presented in this core setting book.
Within the pages of Reign of Discordia, you can fight against the R'Tillek and their crusade of extermination against the known species, fight to protect the independence of dozens of worlds, participate in the cold war between Earth and Lamog, haul cargo to the Frontier Systems, involve yourself in the various crime syndicates, work for one of the interplanetary conglomerates and engage in corporate sabotage, play a role in the advancement of one of the interplanetary organizations, salvage starships, and engage in a number of other activities that will bring danger and adventure.
The traveller version of reign of Discordia includes deck plans for the starships and also a full length adventure!

Applicants should have superior knowledge of grammar, excellent knowledge of the Pathfinder/3.5 rules, and a head for design.
Pay is based on experience.

Wow,
I had no idea there was even a thread about this!
Thanks so much for all your support, and for the awesome review!
I think we could do a Rakshasa Bloodline in the future and also the seven virtues. Those would be pretty cool.
I know the next product in this line will be about Paladins, and after that, I believe we're going to do rangers.
If you guys have any more suggestions, please feel free to let me know!

Origins and ENnie-award winning designer Aaron Rosenberg brings you an exciting new Pathfinder setting, a world of anime-style fantasy filled with cinematic action, grandiose gestures, thrilling magic, personal change, and dangerous beauty. Welcome to Unveiled, where nothing is as it seems.
The kingdom of Chiryoki is a strange and beautiful place, but a dangerous one. Long ago, a race known only as the Elders ruled here. They vanished, but traces of their glorious kingdom still remain, including ancient ruins and mysterious artifacts. The sky itself plays tricks on perception and nature—during the times known as Bloodlight and Second Bloodlight, everything shifts and changes, becoming darker, sharper, and more dangerous. Including people. And for some people, those changes linger into day and night, even becoming permanent. The Emperor holds the land in an uneasy balance as nobles play vicious games to gain greater power for themselves, their families, and their clans. Temples and cults preach salvation, damnation, and everything in between. Scholars study old records, trying to piece together what happened in the past—and what it may mean for the future. And now the greatest of the magical Workers is claiming temporal power to augment his mystical might, taking control of villages and regions one by one.

I'm pleased to announce that RDP's first 4th edition supplement, Scarrport: City of secrets, is on sale now here at paizo's store!
Welcome to the infamous city of Scarrport, a seedy trade port on the banks of the mighty Torberyn River where it converges with the Wellspring River. Scarrport is widely known as the gateway to the Hellfury Peaks — a mysterious region where evil festers in every crag, it’s influence spreading across the region like a raging firestorm. Unholy hell spawn roam the rugged mountain range, preying on unwary travelers and adventurers who seek to make their fortunes exploring the countless ruins dotting the land. Dangerous cults who worship dark gods riddle Scarrport’s four boroughs, using the city as a base of operations from which they spread their influence to other kingdoms.
No place for the naïve, the thieves and grifters of Scarrport lurk around every corner of this bustling city, preying on newcomers like a school of night fang eels on deep water trout. The unwary are soon parted with their money and possessions in this dangerous city or on the myriad river boats that stop in Scarrport to offload goods and pick up passengers. Yet, despite its unsavory reputation, Scarrport is a magnet for heroes in search of adventure. From the brothels, drug houses and gambling dens of the Fens to the boats traveling the Torberyn and Wellspring Rivers, or beyond the city in the demon-infested Hellfury Peaks and the tangled Dark Wood, the possibilities for adventure are boundless.
Inside this Campaign Cutout you’ll find:
• A new 30 level character class: The Elementalist.
• Three new player races; Ghodon, Gremlins and Otterkin.
• New magic items, implements and equipment.
• Steampunk items and guns such as the Babel Springstep pistol.
• New hazards!
• New creatures!
• An introductory adventure; The Iron Lumberjack!
And much more!
You can grab your copy of this great 4th editon supplement Here!

Of course, since the whole thing's based on the SRD anyway, the OGL/SRD works fine too.
So, while we can't claim compatibility with Pathfinder yet, we can produce material for Pathfinder under the ogl...?
Cool.
You could... but we'd prefer you wait until you see the final rules. We don't want lots of confusion about whether something's Alpha version 3, beta, or what; waiting until the rules are finalized at Gen Con is the best bet if you don't want your Pathfinder RPG product to self-obsolete.
That makes perfect sense.
Thanks for the reply.

Reality Deviant Publications makes it's first foray into 4th edition gaming with Scarrport: City of Secrets, the first in our line of Campaign Cutouts, gaming supplements you can drop into any campaign setting.
Like all gamers, you are either using a published game setting, or have created your own amazing “home brew” worlds to play in. So why bother with a new setting? That was the fundamental question I grappled with when designing the concept for Campaign Cutouts. Even the most intricate worlds have a few blank spaces on the map. Campaign Cutouts help you fill in those spaces, providing you with interesting locations for you to plug right into your game with little or no work on your part. Optimally, you can use each Campaign Cutout “right out of the box” for one-shot games or even a mini-campaign. Campaign Cutouts are designed to be setting neutral, providing you with just enough information about the region and its inhabitants to make the campaign cutout playable, but not so much that you feel like you would have to shoe horn the material to fit with your world. Since each element of this Campaign Cutout is presented in modular format, you can use any part of this product as a stand alone element, adding or dropping each individual component as you see fit.
Campaign Cutouts introduce new material for players and game masters to use in their 4th Edition Dungeons and Dragons™ games. In each Campaign Cutout, you will find detailed information about the location and its inhabitants, new races, paragon paths, new monsters, feats, magic items, region-specific hazards and much more!
The first Campaign Cutout introduces you to the infamous city of Scarrport, a seedy trade port on the banks of the mighty Torberyn River where it converges with the Wellspring River.
Inside Scarrport, city of secrets you'll find a new 30 level character class (the Elemental Master), new feats for the class, five paragon paths, an epic destiny and 3 new races; the Ghodon, the Gremlin, and Otterfolk! You'll also find new monsters including the Fel giant and the Night Fang eel!
Look for this great supplement for 4th Edition Dungeons and Dragons™ from Reality Deviant Publications soon!

It made up for driving six hours that spring to see Ozzy/Metallica and having Oz cancel because of voice problems.
It would have been nice to see Burton play though. He died between the two shows.
Ha! I went to that Ozzy/Metallica concert around the time I was graduating from High School. Bragging rights for getting to see old Cliff pound on the bass before the bus accident [RIP]. Great concert!
I was lucky enough to see Cliff play in june '86 on the tour in support of Ozzy. The show was amazing. They completely rocked the house. The sister of an old friend actually gave Cliff a massage after the show.

Well,
I've been listening to Metallica's "Death Magnetic" pretty much non-stop since I got it yesterday. This album blows me away.
I've been a fan since '84. I followed them through their low period with Load and Reload, and I saw signs of their returning to the edginess they once had with St. Anger, but I never, never thought in a million years they would release something like this.
Death Magnetic has all the rage and speed of albums like Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets. In fact, I submit that Death magnetic is the best thing they've put out since Puppets.
Totally amazing album.

Just a little heads up...
Shadows of Cthulhu for the True20 system is in the approval process, and I'm hoping to release it within the next 36 hours. All I need is for Chaosium to give me the nod and this baby is ready to rock and roll. :)
So, if you are new to the Cthulhu mythos, and you're someone who likes D20-based systems, You just might want to give this incredibly well-written book a peek.
You can download a preview on the website.

I really liked the way True20 works with Cthulhu.
I tried d20 Cthulhu years ago, but I had some issues with it. First, d20 assumes heroic development (a 5th level character is WAY more powerful than a 1st level) which is a little overpowering for my Cthulhu style. Second, the spells and Mythos knowledge mechanics seemed to be at odds with the basic d20 mechanics (learning spells without leveling, mythos knowledge working different than other skills). It was like they took d20 Modern and stuck half of the Chaosium rules on the outside.
For Shadows of Cthulhu, we tried to stay within the spirit of the True20 system, and I love what happened. It's clean and it feels right.
You did a great job on it. Troy Taylor and Ed Healy, likewise, did outstanding work with the editing.
You guys should pat youselves on the backs for a job well done.

David, Russel,
It looks like a great work, but it leads me to a very practical question. I know that some of Reality Deviant works are available in print already, like Reign of Discordia, and as many True20 fans, I would like to have a look at them beyond the previews available on the net.
But, where I live (Central London), it is just impossible to find your books in any gaming store. When I ask about them, the answer I get is "Reality who ?". Is it because you have reserved your print works for the US only ?
Mad Elf, thanks so much for your questions.
Promoting products elsewhere on Paizo boards is justifiably frowned on, and since I don't have my print books for sale here, I can't do anyhting other than point you to my website:
www.realitydeviants.net
There you can find links to places to buy my printed products.
Beyond that, I'm happy to announce I've signed with Mongoose publishing to become a member of the Flaming Cobra print family, so you should be able to grab all of my print products in 2009.
Thank you so much for your interest, and I'm sorry I can't be a greater help to you.

This may sound like a PR stunt, but it's not.
I've been having some SERIOUSLY weird dreams ever since I started proofing the Shadows of Cthulhu book.
Strange stuff dealing with swimming in stormy water, being chased by hounds through old towns, being lost...
The dreams are violent, too, especially the ones in water. The other dreams I'm having deal mainly with running from things, trying to escape whatever it is that's hunting me.
Maybe I shouldn't unleash this book on you guys..

Hiya Digitalelf,
Shadows of Cthulhu will be for the True20 game system.
As I said above, it's incredibly well-written. Proofing has been difficult today, because I catch myself geeking out on adventure ideas and supplements I'd like to do instead of reading the darned thing. *lol*

I'm proofing the book now, in preparation for submission to Chaosium for approval. This is one well-written book. It's very faithful to the Lovecraft universe and the Mythos which it inspired. The layout is very evocative, as is the artwork. If you are a fan of Call of Cthulhu, you owe it to yourself to check this book out.
There are a number of backgrounds and 3 new roles which are central to the 1920's, which is the primarily setting. However, these can easily be used in other time periods, such as the modern era. Alternately, if you choose to go the Delta Green Route, this book will do that type of game justice. As you might expect, Shadows of Cthulhu provides you with statted Mythos creatures, rules for Sanity and some new mechanics, like Awareness points, which allow you to unlock mythos traits as your characters gain more knowledge about the "things that should not be." If you've never played a Call of Cthulhu game, we got you covered as well, with adventure suggestions, advice on running a Cthulhu game, and even pregenerated Characters you can use "right out of the box." All in all, this is one hot book.
My compliments to the writers and editors. The werecabbages have delivered yet another fine product.

Just a quick note,
The first supplement for Reign of Discordia, "Virus" is uploaded and awaiting approval from the Paizo Staff!
Virus is an adventure designed for a group of 3rd level heroes.
"The galaxy still reels from the last R'Tillek attack in which they were able to depopulate an entire world with the most lethal weapon's grade virus known to exist. A single living sample of the virus has been recovered and entrusted to the top bio-scientist, Doctor Leif Noreck on the planet Eisiu . When the Lamogos attack the world in hopes of obtaining the virus for themselves, Dr. Noreck escapes, only to have his ship captured by raiders after he left the planet. Since his research may be the key to stopping the virus and preventing the deaths of entire planetary populations, it is up to a small band of heroes to recover the doctor before it is too late. Virus leads the heroes from the rogue's haven of the space station Rover's Beacon, into an old hollowed out asteroid that serves as the raider's base of operations, and into a conflict with the militant Lamogos.
Virus is a Reign of Discordia adventure for 3rd level heroes and serves as the first adventure in a loosely connected adventure path that will ultimately help decide the fate of the known galaxy."

In your opinion. Given the continued high sales volume of the first set of 4th Edition books, that opinion appears to be in the minority.
Just curious, but, do you have any numbers to share which back your statement up?
I'm just wondering how you know the sales numbers are so high.
According to WotC the game has already run through its first two print runs and is now on its third. We don't have exact numbers yet, but yes, it was on Amazon's bestseller list (in the top 5, if I recall correctly). It's also safe to assume that it was roughly as high on Barnes & Noble's list. This bodes very well for it, as role-playing games are driven strongly by word-of-mouth. If the game continues to sell well two months into its release, it's getting some excellent press.
Fair enough. Heck they probably are selling well, it's just that when I see someone posting statements like yours, I have to ask how the information was obtained, and whether or not it's verifiable.
Being a publisher, I don't take much stock in top seller lists. It is the summer, it could have been a slow past few months on amazon, what with all the economic issues which come into play during the summer, not to mention high gas prices and any other number of variables which keep people from buying products. So, any product actually selling well enough to be on a "top list" right now might not be doing as well as people think.

If I don't post, it someone else will, so let's get it out of the way now:
[tinfoil hat] Wizards of the Coast have realised that their trap (the GSL) has caught all the 3PP it is ever likely to catch, and so now the time has come to close the trap, crushing those 3PP who have signed upto the GSL. It may perhaps have been sprung a little earlier than they were hoping for, but having run out of victims interested in taking the bait, and with some publishers thumbing their noses by publishing 4E compatible material under the OGL, the time has come to get heavy-handed, and 'for the good of the community' to take out some of those 3PP's whose products occasionally get discussed instead of Wizards' own on their (Wizards of the Coasts') forums. [/tinfoil hat]
I sincerely hope that I am wrong and that it is just an utterly ludicrous conspiracy theory that I have just stated. Someone debunk it, please.
Well, my first thought is, that, if they indeed caught anyone in a "trap" like you said, they just opened the trap again and let them out, because once the new GSL is updated, the companies who had previously signed on won't be bound by the old terms.

Here is the product in question. I couldn't find a link in your post.
I understand you're concerns about pricing. All I can say, is that it's worth every penny.
I'd like to be able to offer coupons for discounts here to people who have purchased my other products, but I don't seem to have that ability here, like I do elsewhere. I'll email Vic and see if he can set that up for me.
I tried to put a link to the product page on the original post, but it wouldn't let me. After 4 tries, I finally gave up.

I bought this and 2 other .pdfs (A Touch of Evil Volume 3: Gnolls & A Touch of Evil Volume 5: Kobolds) as part of Order #990779.
Both of the others were fine, but when I download (or open for that matter) Hobgoblins, there is nothing in the Zip Folder, even though it says it has downloaded 8.6MB of info and the Properties says there is 8.6MB of info there!
View Hidden Files and Folders is selected, so it's not a Hidden File.
I also tried downloading it again. No Dice.
Just wonderin' "What's Goin' Down in Chinatown"? =)

I might run a promotion whereby the first 4 people to decipher it get a free copy of a future Cthulhu product. ;)

Hi everyone,
First off, I want to thank you all for your interest!
I really appreciate it, and I hope you enjoy what we'll be bringing to the table for Shadows of Cthulhu and the followup supplements!
I'm offering up a (Cthulhu approved) sample of what the interiors are going to look like for the (Full color no less) Shadows of Cthulhu book.
Keep in mind, the book is NOT ready for release. We're still working on it.
That said, enjoy this little sample of things to come.

I've just seen the perliminary graphic design for the Shadows of Cthulhu.
This book is going to be HOT. It'll be a full color book, which will probably make it more expensive, but trust me, it'll be worth every penny.
The writing is outstanding (I'm reading through the first draft now). Russ brown and Ted Reed are earning every penny on this puppy.
You should know that I don't take a license to do true20 Call of Cthulhu products lightly. I'm every bit a fan of the genre as anyone else is, and I won't put out shoddy product.
You might consider checking out some of my other books to get an idea of the quality I set for my products.

I hope this alleviates some of your concerns.
If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. :)

The d20 Call of Cthulhu book that WotC published is the benchmark for me in terms of what a d20/OGL Cthulhu book should be. Will Shadows of Cthulhu be similar in style and quality?

These books will be in both print and PDF. As far as sanity goes, I believe he's working on his own system, though I agree with you. The sanity rules on the True20 Companion are great.
I'll talk to him and see about adding them into the back as an appendix for optional sanity rules. That way it's the best of both worlds. It allows Russ and Tim reed to develop their own stuff, but you, the reader, can choose which ones you like best.
