I am not saying that this is the case, it is sort of a worst case scenario. However, I am certain that something is brewing. After all, the problems in Egypt were spawned by the uprising in Tunisia. It almost feels like there is a larger plan in motion here.

Well I finally saw it, and I did not think it was that bad. Sure it wasn't classic or anything and I am not chomping at the bit for a second one, but it was a decent way to blow two hours after the school week was over.

In a fight between Batman and the Green Hornet, who wins?

The scary thing is that I think Egypt is just the beginning. According to CNN the Muslim Brotherhood, which is the group that really started to ramp everything up since yesterday, has offshoots in Yeman, Saudi Arabia, and a few other places. If they bring Egypt down then by then end of next week the whole face of the Middle East could look a whole lot different.

I have two possibilities.

It was quite an entertaining and educational program. For example, at one point nearly 50% of England's population was an outlaw for one reason or another. There was also a monastic order that believed that underwear was vanity and therefore sinful. As a result the whole order went commando.

Now I may have to get this movie. The mixed nature of the comments here have made me curious about the film.

The other day I statted up a half dragon drow vampire necromancer. Is that too many templates and where does it rate on the wrongness scale?

Ad Astra Per Aspera.

I was in the 7th grade, and the first hint I had that anything was wrong was when I went to lunch and noticed the flag flying at half staff. I asked another kid what had happened and he told me that the Challenger had exploded. Then we watched the news coverage about it in class for the rest of the day. I remember that I had been reading a book from the library that was a simplified version of the Space Shuttle crew manual, and I kept holding out hope that one of the safety mechanisms that I had read about had kicked in and the astronauts were safe somewhere and they just had not found them yet. Sadly that was not the case. I can still remember the sadness that everyone I knew felt that day, to the point that I am getting choked up again as I write this.

WOW!

I found the spare time to stat up two NPCs.

True. As bad as Paint Your Wagon is,...

Them sir is fightin words. :-)

As a combat vet, I can tell you that under just the right set of circumstances any line can be the front line. I have fought alongside women in combat on a few occasions and they are just as capable as men of getting the job done. In fact there was one woman in our unit that was scary good when the bullets started flying. As long as they can do the job, there is no reason that gender should be a consideration.

Nice cover, very retro looking. Even mimics the old cover, whats the warhammer replacement there? Might make a great gift, but all in the cost.

It could be the new look Warhammer from Project Phoenix. The original Warhammer art is no longer able to be used due to some trademark issues so they redesigned it. It does not look exactly like the new art, but it is close enough that I think it is still the warhammer.

Spoiler:
Do you think I could say warhammer any more times?

I have a character that I am bring into my Pathfinder campaign that started out in the Forgotten Realms. In that game she was born in Waterdeep. Would Korvosa or Magnimar be a better analog for Waterdeep?

What do you do when the party consists of two CN characters, 2 CG characters, and a paladin?

If I'm the GM, I take a deep breath and hope that paladin's looking forward to a roleplaying challenge, periodically giving the player the opportunity to build a new character if he wants.

I'f I'm the player, I'm one of the CG characters, and I'll be doing my best to convince that paladin to join the winning team and live wild and free.

Well, the paladin as just offered a job by the campaign's version of the maffia, so we will see how it goes.

I wish that was my problem. The to truck that just hauled her away says different.

Since Young Allies did not do so well, maybe Firestar could take his place. That would be fun.

Well, Johnny's major contribution to the FF has never been his powers. Yeah, they're a nice visual, and they help keep the entire team from looking like their uniform is, well, uniform, but the major draw of the Fantastic Four is that they're family.

Remember the episodes a few years back, when Sue was going to teach Johnny the responsible, financial side of being one of the four shareholders of FF, Inc? Those were great stories.

The Ben / Johnny dynamic gets front-and-center attention. But I also like the Reed-and-Johnny relationship, where Reed simply, deliberately treats Johnny as an equal, capable partner, in the teeth of any evidence Johnny might demonstrate to belie that trust.

Firestar might be able to replace the Human Torch on the magazine cover the next time the FF are in combat with the Sandman, but there's no way she can fill in for him in the ways that really matter.

I don't know, I think she could bring her own dynamic that would be just as good. One of the big issues that Firestar has had lately is her infertility which was caused by her powers. There are about three researchers that she could go to for help with that, Hank McCoy, Henry Pym, and Reed Richards. Hank is off with the X-Men in San Fransisco and Angel has seemed reluctant to deal with the X-Men in the past. Whether that is still some lingering effect of Emma Frost's conditioning or not is something I don't know. However, when you add that Emma is with the X-Men now, I don't see Firestar turning to Hank for help. Similarly, since Wasp (still feels weird to call Henry "Wasp") works with Vance now I doubt Angel would turn to him for help since she doesn't want to run the risk of bumping into her ex-fiance. So that leaves Reed Richards as the sole researcher that would really understand her position. Angel turns to Reed for help, and not only does she get one of the brightest minds on Earth working to solve her medical problems but she also develops a big sister/little sister relationship with Sue, who can relate to where Angel is from an emotional standpoint since she has struggled with the same issues. This gives her ties to two of the three remaining members of the team, Reed as her doctor and Sue as her counselor and confidante. We do not have to define a relationship with Ben yet, because that could grow out of her interaction with him. So yes, I agree that the Fantastic Four's strength has always been that they are family, but that does not preclude expanding that family. In fact, Firestar's own family issues could be the reason that she seeks out the FF in the first place.

Is a half-dragon vampire a dragon or undead? I believe undead but I want to be sure.

Is there any chance we will ever see a draconic race?

I have three requests

Young Volcanic Dragon
Deva Fanatic
Dragonborn Elementalist

There is at least one website that I know of that still hosts PDFs of the original game with WotC's blessing.

Reign of the Human Torches anyone?

I loved this game. I still mine comic books for characters and ideas, even though I have not played in 17 years now. I am gonna have to break it out for my kids one of these days.

The one thing that I don't like about MegaMek so far is that the dice seem to hate me a whole lot more than they do the bot. There seem to be a lot of fights that I should win but then I end up with something like I turned on pavement, and slid into a building, and that caused my LRM 20 to go up in a blaze of glory on my first move, thus taking out my mech. I have problems with that.

Since Young Allies did not do so well, maybe Firestar could take his place. That would be fun.

According to the article, the team only has nine players, so the coach would not even be able to pull all of his starters, let alone bench the second string for a third string.

I have a player who wants to run a gnome alchemist but does not like the mutagen feature. If you were the GM and he were your player would would you offer him as an alternate class feature if he gives up the mutagen feature?

Why are Korean horror films so...bizarre?

What is your favorite non-American film?

So gene, what are you gonna do when the minis run out?

No, the third string undrafted walk on did better, the back up sucked ass.

I called it here folks, you saw the next Tony Romo. That kid will get a shot in camp next year.

That is why I pluralized backups, because I could not bring myself to watch the horror that I knew was coming in the second half and so did not see exactly who played that half.

If there are transcripts of the trial on-line I have not been able to locate them. As far as parole goes, the young man is not going to be eligible for 49 years. And yes, this is an entirely academic exercise since as near as I am aware of there is nobody on the forum that was involved in the case. However that does not mean that it is futile to discuss it in general terms since that is what law school students and, I would imagine, lawyers do as part of their learning process.

Grab five random spectators and put them in? Honestly sometimes there is not anything you can do.

Last month, a young man who killed three people while driving drunk was sentenced to 51 years in prison. He as on probation for DWI when he hit the minivan carrying the three victims. Story My question to all the lawyers on this boardis, is this sentence reasonable or is it excessive? I can see it from both sides and I would love to hear the opinion of the great legal minds here on this topic.

No wonder that their kindly gods take extreme stances on interracial issues... and that unlucky folks found themselves targeted sorely because of a few additional inches.

Of course, that's the same setting where term "druid" is synonymous with "savage cannibal", and where nice folks still need to sacrifice little furry animals on dark altars to appease nasty gods.

Not exactly slaves. Just defenseless and therefor taken advantage of.

Druids are not exactly cannibals either, they just follow the Titans, not all of whom were evil.

In fact, one of the ways that King Virduk got halflings on his side was to make them feel empowered. One of the best PrC from the Scarred Lands is the Halfling Stalker.

Well, America has a massive obesity problem, and America also dominates the RPG fan base. It is actually at the point where pics of american groups of people makes me react to the fact that the average accepted weight there is far higher than here in Sweden. Certainly, we have many, many overweight people here too, but serious overweight is still much rarer here.

Could it rather be an american problem?

I recently read an interesting report that stated that while it is true that America has seen an explosion in the obesity rate over the last decade, it is not clear whether this is due to an actual increase in actual weight or if it is because the federal government has decreased the weight at which one is considered obese over that same period. The author's conclusion was that it is actually a combination of the two factors. I personally believe that is the case as I have gone from overweight to obese in that period of time and I have lost weight over that period.

Like a few others here, I used to be in great shape. Then I messed up my ankle and blew out my knee and that has made it harder to exercise and I have become flabby and seriously out of shape. I am slowly trying to get back in shape, but I have a very tight schedule and it is hard to fit exercise into it.

How do you come up with NPC names?

I have found my new favorite Omni, the Kingfisher. I was running a scenario where I played a star of assault omni and a star of elementals against a start or medium omnis and a star of heavy omnis. Well I ended up getting my rear kicked, but even with both legs blown off and the pilot unconscious, it still took the opfor 3 rounds of all seven surviving mechs firing on it to finally destroy it. That is what I call one tough mutha.

It is definitely a great program. I have been playing some of the scenarios from the Black Thorns pack and I love it.
