Overall I really like this AP. In a nutshell, it touches on most of the horror theme's all in one AP while keeping a common theme/story going. I loved the first book. Book 2 is very good. Book 3 is a little weak, but still enjoyable. Book 4 is good. Book 5 is good as well. I altered a few things through each book just to suit my players and my style, but it was done with ease. But this review is for the 6th and final book in the series.
The story moves along nicely and builds up to the exciting climax of the entire story on Gallowspire. The encounters look very challenging and will test the players well. I really like this book and I cannot wait until we get to it because it is the perfect way to wrap up an awesome horror style campaign. Great job!
This short booklet gives you some information on how to add Apprentice Level rules to your Pathfinder Campaign. It provides some interesting ideas but basically just takes every class and divides by 2. Half HP, Skill Points, Saves, etc. If you don't use all of the classes shown from all the genius guides, you will never need that info. If you are going to start your characters out at 0 level or 1/2 level as an apprentice, this is a good purchase for you. It felt very basic to me.
This is another fine quality map but it will serve a very limited purpose. I don't care for 5' thick walls for a basic prison, no guard towers, no solitary, and too many windows. I can see using it once or twice, but the prison you can get in one of map packs is just as helpful. I would have liked it more if they would have added another type of prison on the back. Maybe a maximum and minimum security style? Either way, it is still a good addition to the collection, but will see much less use than the others.
Our group just finished Howl of the Carrion King and it is now one of my very favorite adventures! From the opening act that thrusts the players together in cooperative fashion, to the mystery surrounding the town, and the incredible end acts - this adventure is a clear winner. The players loved it. It offered awesome opportunities to develop cool characters and Roleplay them. There are plenty of challenging encounters as well. I really liked that this adventure does not have the same feel to it that most typical fantasy adventures do. The arabian setting is done quite well and they add in some specialty items and creatures to complete the feel. I recommend you give this one a try!
I recently bought my first roll. I say first roll because I can see me buying more. I actually liked the brown background for the maps I was drawing. I would like to see a light green and a light grey version in the future. The maps look great and are easy to transport. For the cost, it is well worth a try.
How many adventures have you run where the story takes you into a temple/monestary/shrine and a fight breaks out? This map gives you two options for a big cathedral so you don't have to spend hours drawing one. I used it for a Pathfinder Society game and it worked out great! Everyone enjoyed it. I recommend you add this one to the collection!
I have used this map for a couple of different adventures. It is an excellent map and the players loved it. I store all of my flip mats in a large art folder for paintings because then I never have to fold them up again and the creases are not an issue. The back side of the map worked well with my waterfront map pack too.
This was an awesome adventure. It included all of the elements of a fun adventure - mystery, tough fights, roleplay, and a climatic finish. The last act of the adventure freaked out the players and we almost had a TPK. They pulled it out at the last second with half of the party in negative HP. A good time!
This PFS contains a straight forward mission and is easy to run. You have to work hard to present a few RP opportunities. It seemed a little shy of a fully dynamic adventure that includes thinking puzzles and Roleplay, but jumps from battle to battle. It was still enjoyable and makes use of some fun maps.
This shirt is pretty awesome. The colors go very well together and it has that military / patriotic feel to it. Most people will have no idea what it means so feel free to wear it out in public. Not only do you get a free re-roll at conventions and society games for justing wearing this shirt, but it is a total chick magnet too. My only complaint is how they are packaged. Very wrinkled once you finally pry them out from their slice of cheese packaging that they come in. The first time I wore the wrinkled shirt in public, someone gave me a dollar and wished me well on my job hunt. I spent the dollar on gum. After a few washes, it looks fine now. I recommend you buy one right now.
I really like my Osirion shirt. It is a very flashy color and comfortable to wear. It doesn't openly scream "geek" so it can be worn in public places. My only complaint is the packaging. It was completely wrinkled and even after a good washing and hanging up to dry, I still looked like I slept in a ditch. After the second wash, it is starting to mellow out.
I cut each level of the ship out and glued it to a piece of wood and built a 3-D boat. The map is great and is fine once it is glued down. It is one of my players favorites and now I get to use it again in some of the Pathfinder Society adventures!
