I did a similar thing. Everytime a player rolled a fail from the unluck aura, I said "That is bad luck, bummer." The players caught on. We have six players so I increased the unluck aura to 50' and maxed out their HP. For shatter, try wooden shields or something easier to shatter. Don't forget the DR2. They are fragile, so they will die easy, but the point is to make them annoying.

We started HotCK in September and will be finished in a few weeks. The players consist of:

Fallah Ibn Rashid - Human Wizard seeking his freedom. A very mild man who is not afraid to use force when needed.

Asham Aleek - Dwarf Cleric of Sarenrae looking to restablish the church in Kelmarane. Father Asham actively seeks to convert people to Sarenrae or strike them down in her name.

Pangaea - Half Elf Ranger seeking adventure. The Moldspeaker. An aspiring member of the Pathfinders and accomplished archer.

Rida - Human Rogue trying yo reclaim his roots in Kelmarane. A street wise young boy who enjoys to tinker with things.

Rash - Half Elf Monk looking for his sister Haleen. Probably the most moral and ethical member of the group who would rather stun an opponent rather than kill them.

Utarchus - Half Orc Barbarian with a deep hatred of Gnolls. Would rather kill a Gnoll rather than look at it.

Return the favor. I added in a 3rd level Gnoll sorcerer in the battle market. He kept reminding the warriors that they have low will saves and they kept feeling sleepy in battle. The tanks have thier own weakness that need to be exploited.

Consider a blindfighting feat. Maybe even carrying a potion of cure blindness.

I don't recommend penalizing the party for being creative, but everyone enjoys a good fight over a lopsidded one. Throw them a curve ball and see how they react. Hit the Barbarian with blindness a time or two.

Our group is almost done with HotCk. It has been an excellent path so far and the players are really enjoying it. When we decided to run an adventure path, this was a clear winner for me.

I may have missed a post in there, but are you going to put all of this cool stuff in one document for the game? I would be happy to draw up some artwork for a game booklet. You did some awesome work there. I used to love GW and am glad that someone is converting it to Pathfinder. Thanks!

I couldn't agree more. The Pathfinder game and material have gotten me excited about RPG's again. I have been enjoying running the Legacy of Fire adventure path and have been running Pathfinder Society Games at our local game shop. Everyone at Paizo has done an excellent job pulling this entire effort together and I am happy to support their work in every way possible. As a GM, I put an incredible amount of effort into my games so they are top notch. Paizo does the same and makes my life so much easier and the story's, settings, and support material are excellent. Thanks again!

I like the old school feel. That was one thing I used to like about the Dungeon Crawl Classics. It looks very complete and well thought out. Thanks for the adventure!

Andoran (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion, Modules, GameMastery Maps Subscriber)

I figure it will take our group 1 full year to play an adventure path. This means I will have an extra AP per year, not to mention the first three I have not tried yet. Mix in a couple dozen individual adventures and I have plenty to enjoy for years to come. In about ten years I should have enough stocked up to keep me busy in the retirement home another 20 years later.

If it were not for the sliding schedule, it may seem even faster. I am fine with it. As long as the quality is good, keep it coming. I need a good adventure path miniatures monthly subscription now.

Andoran (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion, Modules, GameMastery Maps Subscriber)

I have a big selection of mini's to use for monsters and most of my players have metal or plastic mini's for themselves. I suggest that you stick to odd creatures and things that don't have many mini's already available. That may be a given already, but I can't see myself buying any of these if they are just common creatures that I already have dozens of plastic mini's of.

We cleared the monestary a few weeks back. The Pugwampi's are meant to be annoying and while they are a threat for low level PC's, eventually they won't add any value to the adventure. To make the monestary easier to run, I built it as a 3-D model. This allowed everyone the opportunity to experience the room the way it was designed. It was a slow battle, but the players won in the end and King Mokknock fell to his doom.

Of course if he is chained up, he will not have access to good food. He would have to order out often or be forced to eat his own poop over and over again, which would put anyone in a bad mood.

Andoran *** (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion, Modules, GameMastery Maps Subscriber)

I am interested in the answer too. I just ran Silent Tide yesterday. It was a fun adventure, but I was thinking I may get half credit for eating it.

You are the best! Thanks for everything!

Andoran (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion, Modules, GameMastery Maps Subscriber)

I just ordered 5 maps and two shirts, maybe you can just toss it into that order. Thanks!

Dave

Good Morning! I ordered 6 GameMastery Modules as part of this order. I did receive 6, but I got two copies of E1 Carnival of Tears and was missing W2 River into Darkness. What should I do? Thanks!

Andoran (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion, Modules, GameMastery Maps Subscriber)

Mine arrived today! Denver CO. Good news, time to stay up late reading.

Andoran (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion, Modules, GameMastery Maps Subscriber)

Thanks! So now I must make up a new excuse to place an order. Maybe I'll pretend to find $20 and then decide to spend my windfall on some goodies at Paizo. I can live with that. Thanks again!

Andoran (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion, Modules, GameMastery Maps Subscriber)

Hello! I had a little over $11 in store credit from my old subscriptions. I may have spent it and just don't remember, which is true for most of my impulse purchases, but it still shows up under "My Subscriptions". Could you check and see if I still have it? And if so, how do I spend it? The hard part is deciding which of your products to buy, not that I can get a bunch with that amount, but it sets me up with a good excuse about purchasing my own wish list for Christmas! So much gaming material, so little time. Thank you!

Andoran (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion, Modules, GameMastery Maps Subscriber)

This was a good question. I am starting a short campaign for my two kids - 10 and 8, and two of their friends (similar ages). I chose Darkmoon Vale as a starting point and then could move them around as I learn more about the setting. I already ran Hallow's Last Hope with a group of adults and it was fun, so with some quick modifications it will be a good one for the kids too. I wondered about the Kobold King adventure and thought about trading the kids out for the family dog or something. I'll cross that bridge right before I have to burn it.

My gaming group and myself have enjoyed the 3.5 system since it came out. Sure a few things were messed up, but we fixed those with house rules and enjoyed the system. 4.0 was far too different and we didn't enjoy it. We planned on sticking with 3.5 (we have enough stuff to use for the next handful of year anyway) and the Pathfinder Game was an opportunity to improve on it. We were not looking for massive widespread changes, or that defeats the purpose. Just enough to fix old problems and make it fun learning some of the changes. Paizo have done this in our opinion. We bought, and downloaded, the BETA rules and my players and I are happy with it. There are a couple of outstanding items, but nothing serious. I am looking forward to the final printing and each of our players has committed to purchasing the book. We are also very happy with the new setting and the support material. It is a win-win for us. We tend not to get overly worked up about rules and more about having a fun gaming experience.

So Paizo, work out them final issues and send it to the printer!

Having played the game for 27 years, I cannot tell you how happy I was to see Pathfinder. I tried the 4.0 but it was not my cup of tea. Not to mention I have no desire to purchase all of the same stuff all over again. I appreciate a new fresh campaign setting and the adventures are top notch! I am still excited and I am looking forward to all of the new material. Thank you Paizo!

Andoran (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion, Modules, GameMastery Maps Subscriber)

The 4.0 version now plays like a miniature / card game. I don't care for it. After playing 1st edition, 2nd edition, 3.0 and 3.5, my D&D experience is coming to an end. I am sticking with 3.5 and Pathfinder. Quite honestly, it is not the rules that make the game, but your friends that sit around the game table with you making fun memories. Pathfinder provides cool stuff that makes awesome memories. We will continue to game on, drink Mountain Dew, snack on peanut M&M's, and get a few laughs along the way, while enjoying all the hard work that went into the Pathfinder setting. Game on.

Andoran (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion, Modules, GameMastery Maps Subscriber)

I place the adventures in files in the cabinet based on level's. The reference books are stuck on the shelf. As long as you can find it, any system works.

Andoran (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion, Modules, GameMastery Maps Subscriber)

WotC just bagged the DDM game, they will still make some RPG mini's. It is a shame for those who enjoy DDM. I personally don't care. I already bought thousands of mini's and don't need many more. D&D is their flagship and I am sure it will drag on for a while longer. I don't care for the Card/Mini game that 4.0 has made it. Our gaming group has decided to move on with Pathfinder. Built along the line of 3.5 and with plenty of support material. The Pathfinder world is by far one of the best I have ever read in my 27 years of gaming. I am impressed and we will game on, with or without WotC's products.

Andoran (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion, Modules, GameMastery Maps Subscriber)

I started playing in 1981. I have seen many changes over the years and I believe the change to 3.0/3.5 and the d20 system was an excellent call. Our gaming group (roughly 10 people) have spent some time looking over the 4.0 stuff and the final vote, by a landslide, was NOT to switch to 4.0. There are tons of reasons we decided this, and I won't go into them. Instead, I will focus on the reasons we decided to start a Pathfinder Campaign:
1) The setting is awesome. It is completely new. No overdone, over written world setting. Paizo does an incredible job building cool backgrounds, adventure paths, and accessories.
2) The Pathfinder rules fix a few of the items that didn't work well in 3.5. We created our own fixes and Paizo's choices were either similar or better.
3) We can still use the mountains of 3.5 material we own with little change. Between the 85 3.5 adventures I own (and we have not played yet) and the last 6 years of Dungeon Magazine, I could stick with 3.5 for another 27.5 years before running out of material.
4) You can actually tell people you play "Pathfinder" without being instantly steriotyped. "Dungeons and Dragons" still has a dark cloud over it and makes some people paranoid (for no reason). But tell them you are starting a Pathfinder game, and nobody makes the connection. I like that.
So we will embark shortly with new Pathfinder Characters in a cool new setting and we will ride that bus until the wheels fall off.

Thank you Paizo.
