They need a Paizo Charter Superscriber tag. :)
I think a little cape should hang off my username in each post...
While there's certainly nothing wrong with disliking something based on a preview, I would hope people would wait until the final is out before judging.
Either way, I'm really, REALLY looking forward to next week's preview. The sorcerer is probably my favorite class, so I'm very cusious to see how much of the beta made it into the final sorcerer, as well as what other changes there may be.
Erika Mona?
Is that Erik's evil twin sister - or is this what he does on the weekends?
(Fourth paragraph.)
See, Paizo should create/host something like this, then have the computer automatically list the best adventures/adventure path for each player who can then communicate this to their DM so that DM can select the best adventure for their group.
Kind of like an adventure finder on steroids. :)
I much prefer that this product be sandbox rather than AP.
Paizo does APs well enough - I don't really need any more than what they provide. But one can never have too many sandboxes to play in. :)
I love Green Ronin, but, um, well, yeah....
Like a couple of others, I picked up the 20 Pathfinder Scenarios.
Cover = good.
I am awaiting subscription information. :)
I highly doubt GR is joining 4E since, IIRC, Pramas has mentioned he doesn't want to be tied to the whims of another company.
I'd guess it's a new license that will be well known.
Cosmo wrote: These purchases will be non-subscription purchases (i.e. no PDF), because we do not have the capability for gift-subscriptions (which was they originally asked to do), but you will be getting the books. Is this something (gift subscriptions) that is being worked on? It would be nice to have....
Alright, you Paizo twits, er, twitterers.
I'm stalking, er, following you now....
I think getting those signatures is only a perk reserved for those who are Charter Superscribers that also have Planet Stories subscriptions.
*whistles innocently*
As long as it's not Wizard's Ivory Tower.
Ahem.
I downloaded the .pdf of the Pathfinder RPG beta and also own the print copy. I tried reading the beta on the screen - no thanks. I use the print copy to read it, but I use the .pdf to search for things.
Different uses for different mediums.
Heathansson wrote: Oh and I'm a fired customer anyway, so nobody gives a s~*@ what I think. PHB II is doing gangbusters on Amazon, so who cares what I say? Actually, it really isn't anymore.
It *was* at #12 only three weeks ago.
But now it's fallen all the way to #243, so it doesn't look like people are "telling their friends."
I believe reports of its sales figures can best be described as "premature escalation."
;)
Scott Betts wrote: toyrobots wrote: But this pdf thing is such a massive blunder. Explain this. Why is deciding to suspend PDF sales is the "massive blunder" you describe it as? Um, read the threads. :)
Regardless of the circumstances, the overall vitriol and negative feelings thrown at WotC over this would certainly constitute a massive blunder - in PR if nothing else.

In two days, if somebody new to the hobby wants to find out what this "Greyhawk" stuff was, they really have no recourse.
Maybe the older stuff was popular and they thought it was affecting the sales of the new stuff....

Unless I'm missing it, Player's Handbook 2 seems to have gone from #28 to falling off the list completely in one week.
Yikes.
Your theory is important to us.
Please stay on the line....
Give Joe Browning credit for taking advantage of an opportunity. :)
Erik Mona wrote: Probably to very near 100%. I like those odds.... :)
I'd really like to see "Monster Cards" that have a picture of a Pathfinder monster on the front and the name of the monster on the back (in small type). That way, I can show a picture of what the PCs are facing without having to tell them what it is.
Dungie
So, is the Slumbering Tsar awake YET!?!?!?
C'mon, it's got Paths to Find.....
Level 20 might be a good start....
It's a scary place. :)
Well, the name-in-gold-lettering on the cover is what certain members of WotC received when the 3.0 core books came out. :)
I think superscribers who also add the Pathfinder RPG option should get their copy with a special cover with their name on it in gold lettering. ;)
SirUrza wrote: Russ Taylor wrote: Yep. Supposedly one of the major WotC profit centers, along with novels. At one point miniatures were up there, too. They are, it's the star wars minis that sell.. but then again any star wars toy sells. That's because Vic Wertz hoards them. ;)
That Alliance list would seem to show that Magic: The Gathering is still a major player in the hobby industry. I find it amazing that the game still has such popularity.
Yay!
Who knew the power was with Tam?
;)
4E seems to be doing OK for WotC. The PHB2 is #42 on Amazon's sales list - and it's not even out yet. (At least it was #42 about an hour ago.)
4E also seems to be doing OK for Goodman Games.
Beyond those two though, I have no idea.
As for Green Ronin and Pathfinder, I could see a Pathfinder Character Folio, but that's about it in the short term. :)
Long term? I suppose it depends on Pathfinder's longevity and the success (or lack thereof) of Green Ronin's own systems. No need to do Pathfinder if M&M, True20, and/or A Song of Ice and Fire are doing well.
Samuel Leming wrote: Ok, as far as adult content goes, I suppose the most important question is are you allowed to show bare breasts if you're doing a web comic?
Absolutely!*
*As long as those breasts belong to men.
Well, OK then....

System Reference Document. Copyright 2000, Wizards of the Coast, Inc; Authors Jonathan Tweet, Monte Cook, Skip Williams, based on material by E. Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson.
Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. Copyright 2008, 2009, Paizo Publishing, LLC; Author: Jason Bulmahn.
The Book of Experimental Might. Copyright 2008, Malhavoc Press; Author: Monte J. Cook. Looks like some material from Book of Experimental Might got formerly included. Neato!
I noticed that too. I'm thinking starting hit points.... :)

Vic Wertz wrote: DaveMage wrote: The only thing that gives me pause is the "adult content" condition, which is a bit open to interpretation. Is mild profanity "adult content"? Where's the line? Well, our policy takes that same tack by passing the act of definition on to the general public:
"Community Use Policy wrote: You agree to not use this permission for material that the general public would classify as "adult content," offensive, or inappropriate for minors... So the answer is that you shouldn't put anything in there that a court might reasonably decide is offensive or is considered adult content by the general public. ("When in doubt, take it out.") Porn is one thing, but what's "offensive" very much depends on the person viewing. And the "general public" is a very vague standard to use these days, in my opinion. I mean, isn't violence considered "adult content" by the general public? We're talking about killing things and taking their stuff. ;)
I think what Paizo is doing is fantastic (99.9% great), but this one term is a bit too vague for my liking from a contract point of view. Not that this would stop me from using it necessarily, but I don't like vague terms in the contracts I deal with, so I'm just sharing my thoughts.
Unfortuantely, I don't have a good suggestion as to how it could be better, but maybe it would help to put up a Q&A with examples of what would be acceptable and what would not be?
No, no, no.
The fansite policy is not supposed to be released until at least 9 months after the game is out. Jeez, don't you people know anything?
Seriously though, very generous allowance on use of images, product names, and the like. I'll be interested to see how this is used by the creative fanbase here.
The only thing that gives me pause is the "adult content" condition, which is a bit open to interpretation. Is mild profanity "adult content"? Where's the line?
Clark Peterson wrote: I think that SR thing was a ruling from Dungeon Mag or something. I am sure it was a rule, since I remember it so clearly. BUT it is possible it was just a long standing house rule. :) Or maybe a rule I grabbed from the old CalTech mods that I used heavily even up to the release of 3E. I mean, I know the game so well, we didnt even hardly use books. Seriously. I'll see if I can find that, though. Maybe you're thinking of golems, which (IIRC) are unaffected by spells unless the spell also works on objects and the spell does not allow spell resistance.
Vic Wertz wrote:
You are correct, sir. This set of revisions to the GSL falls squarely into the categories of both "too little" and "too late" as far as addressing Paizo's concerns.
Thanks for clarifying this, Vic!

Oh Dave, not so dour! No, we plan to fully support Pathfinder. Not just with a toss of product. That is our goal.
I want to believe. :)
DF: Well, as I said in the other thread, as long as we can get Slumbering Tsar for Pathfinder, I'm good. Money saved right now isn't a bad thing. :)
Hopefully Pathfinder support won't only mean releasing "Slumbering Tsar" as a Pathfinder product. (Although at this point, if that's all we get, I'll take it.)
Dario Nardi wrote: PS. Don't listen to whoever said to price it $1. People who have iPhones are not paupers, producing apps isn't necessarily cheap (unless you and your friends are doing the programming yourselves), and the market is a niche market to say the least. $5 is just right. Heh. Good point.
Neat!
(And I just happen to be planning on getting an iPhone in about 2 weeks....)
I know nothing about this vendor, but here you go:
Good luck!
Hopefully it's not out of stock.
I'm ready for it to have "Unquiet Slumber"
(For the Sleepers...In That Quiet Earth)
