About Darsten Meredith

Darsten is a freelance musician who is also a member of the Pathfinder Society. He spent his later childhood adopted into a clan of travelling troubadours mostly operating in Osirion, unable to remember much of his earlier past. A bar room brawl gone awry and a chance encounter with a treasure hunter led Darsten into assuming a new identity as a bard and adventurer operating mostly in and around Absalom and parts of Avistan.

Darsten is suspicious of nearly everyone, even members of his race and faction, but is incredibly loyal to those he knows and trusts. Only his closest allies know his and his sister's real names.

He is very protective of his sister, his only relative and link to his forgotten childhood, so much so that he can be driven into an uncontrollable rage just by witnessing her get hurt. He isn't sure what he would do if a tragic fate befell his sister. He doesn't want to know.

Darsten performs music to varying audiences partially because it's the trade he knows best, partially to earn enough fame and fortune to give himself and his sister a life free from hassle and worry. Despite this he does still go on missions for the Grand Lodge, generally for the thrill.

Trivia:

- Darsten's best friend is the Summoner who brought him to the Grand Lodge in the first place, Balazar.
- Darsten's favourite colour is yellow.
- He is never seen without wearing a hooded cloak and having his trusty lute of many years with him.
- He's surprisingly mild-mannered and jovial for a Nagaji adventurer coming from a rough background. But he will easily lose his temper if his sister comes under attack.
- Darsten can remember brief segments of his past, spent in some place called "Nagajor". All he remembers is hunger and deprivation, and a confused scenario in which he, his sister, and an adult figure ran from a fire engulfing his hometown. Darsten has spent many years trying to visualise the adult in the memory, but can't.
- In his spare time he can be found reading poetry.
- He is left handed, but can dual wield weapons with ease.
- He suffers from infrequent facial tics, the most common being the twitching of an eye, and an uncontrollable sly, toothy grin.
- He is claustrophobic.
- As a result of training with the Grand Lodge, Darsten has now taken it upon himself to incorporate displays of cantrips magic and acrobatics into his shows.
- Darsten has very little of a Nagaji "dialect" when he speaks.
- A meta trivia fact: the surname "Meredith" is a reference to the actor who was in "Rocky" and "Batman", Burgess Meredith.
