Pretty cool.
For me ideal is 6, I shoot for 4-8. Less than 4 and things get hard, more than 8 and the group just bogs down and things are to slow.
I consider 6 perfect. Small enough that tactics and speed is still pretty good, yet large enough the group can make mistakes or have a bad run of luck and still pull things off. My problem with only 4 is one run of bad luck of bad plan can all to quickly lead to a TPK if the wrong PC goes down at the wrong time. With 6 you have more leway as most roles will get a backup of some sort for them.

Though I can't remember much about it. I know I was a playing a thief and the stairs suddenly turned into a slide and I vaguely recollect a stone golem.
Anyways, expect to see a lot of cool stuff coming from Raging Swan next year. I only know a little bit just from the projects I'm involved with but lots of good stuff in the pipeline. The only parts I remember is, my brothers friends who was playing both the fighters didn't show and they needed a fighter. So they recruited me to play a big dumb fighter. It was one of the pregens Lief Stern. I still remember his name but not sure on the spelling. The only other thing I recall is I ended up getting the Pseudo Dragon from the ship.
After the first game session I wanted to join in and made up a cowardly girl rogue who was something like 13(which i thought was old at the time), the DM had Lief leave and the dragon switch over to my new character. Mostly all I did was sneak around, disable traps and on occasion back stab stuff once the fight was well in hand. I had fun and the guys didn't mind. They was all in the teens. By the end my character at 16th level ended up with a small army of pets I collected.
By looking at it, my first thought was Ezran was gramps who was earlier dressed as Santa. Valeros is dad, Kyra is mom and Merisiel the kid. All enjoying their holiday between adventures. A family that adventure's together stays together... assuming one or more of them isn't eaten by a monster of course. :)
Well i don't even own this one yet. I was just more speaking in generic terms of review. I need to get caught up on FGG stuff.
Kinda creepy honestly. :)
Yeah 3pp is what IMHO makes a good game(PFRPG) into a great gaming filling in those niches that otherwise get left behind. So I will add in my thanks as well. Plus to all the fans that make Paizo forums a nice place to come virtually hang out and to Paizo for making a good game and being great hosts.
Happy Holidays all.
Yeah honestly this book sounds like I was always hoping the series was going to be about in the first place.
Yeah i know and I commented about how you gave a higher rating on that one which is very rare. I tend to be a lot more forgiving on minor errors. :)
Saltmarsh was the very first adventure I ever played in when I was just 8. It will always hold a special place in my heart as the doorway that opened me up to the wonder that is Role Playing. :)
Holidays have been hectic, honestly haven't really got very far it might not happen until after Christmas or maybe even new years.
Nice review Goz.
I am tempted by this one and in all truth the idea of this line hasn't really appealed to me. This one though is more appealing to me. As we get none standard magic items. The first candle mentioned I find the most appealing of the lot. Might be time for me to go back and take another look at some of the books.
Nice review End and your back to giving slightly lower ratings than me. :)
Nice review End.
very cool

I would say End is a far better reviewer than I am. Dawn and Az and others also do very good reviews. Thanks though, I will have to add you to my crazy list now and not the hehe crazy list but the Joker by Heath Ledger crazy list and then back away slowly.
note - As for update I fired off a second email to Alluria to let them know about this thread and what Mikaze did as well. So hopefully they will pop in sometime in the near future to take part as well.
Also you might want to take a look at the SGG products I forget what it is called of the top of my head but enforcer is in the name. It is classes more geared for more modern games.
Another class I think would be something like a scholar and or Indian Jones type of class. Perhaps a rogue Archetype losing some rogue abilities for knowledge's.
I think of that as more pulp fantasy than steam punk. I mean there is no reason the two can't be mixed. But that is not really the thing I think of when i think steam punk. Now with that said. I think it would make a great location/adventure setting follow up book though. For a true steampunk i think i would focus more on say Londonish type starting place and expand out.
I like the two things you mentioned. I just think they fit better in expansion and or adventure books to support the core setting. I would personally focus on what most people think of when they think steam punk to get establish and then expand it. But that is of course just my own personal opinion. :)
Well I was going to first suggest talking to the GM away from the game and get a better understanding. The other thing I was going to suggest is the two of you work out a code of conduct for the paladin so you know.
To me this sounds more like a misunderstanding. Where the player thought combat was about to happen and to avoid it used a spell. While the GM felt things was fine and the paladin decided to "cheat". I understand both points of view.
Me if I was the GM and felt that way I might have had the god send a little dream to get the point of cross to show more patients and also made sure the player OOC knew what was what.
I think with you both talking this would be a good time before the next game perhaps in emails to hammer out a code of conduct to avoid any future problems and chalk this up to lesson learned.
I would buy some... if I didn't already have them all. :)

Good-Gear-Games wrote: First I would like to say hello to everyone. To introduce myself, my name is Santiago Mendez aka Sgmendez on the forums here, and I am starting up a design and development company called Good Gear Games. GGG has aspirations to become great and provide inexpensive good quality products to each and everyone of you.
So my first question for everyone is:
What do you want in your Steampunk games?
What kind of races, classes, technology, spells, religion, society, etc.?
What kind of mechanics, crunch, flavor, and fluff would you like to be included in a Steampunk setting?
Deep down, what do you want your Steampunk games to encompass and include?
Thank you all for your feedback.
1) I think more of the classics that inspired it all. Victorian romance, clockwork, steamtech, and a bit of punk thrown in and mixed well.
2a) Races to matter less since you can remove or add them as a GM.
2b)I wouldn't mind seeing all the classes. Though some would need to be tweaked depending on how close to reality the setting was. Plus I think a true tech mage would be needed. Plus a gun archetype for most melee classes.
2c) For tech I would say copy some modern tech but make it clockwork or steampowered instead. Obviously leaving out some of the newest stuff like computers and phones. Plus a few fantastical devices, such as subs that use batteries to run just like the old ones but when on the surface use a steam engine to repower the batteries. Perhaps a steam powered air ship. not a plane. Or the weird spinning saw things in the Van Helsing movie.
2d) Spells would be harder. Most I think would be fine, some I think need to go but others needed to be added especially ones that deal with tech.
2e) Religion, you can go real world or more standard DnD. I don't have a strong opinion either way. Perhaps default like the real world with some notes on the option to use DnD gods.
2f) More fictional romantic version of the victorian age with a healthy dose of punk mixed in with a bit of industrial revolution.
3) There is a tech mage in the Great City players guide. Also open design has a book on it, plus Iron Kingdom. I would look at them for mechanical idea's. Just don't skimp on flavor. Knowing the whys of it existing how it effects society and is seen, is every bit as important to a good setting as the mechanical aspects of it.
4) When i think steam punk I think of the classics Jule Verne's, H.G. Wells. With Sherlock Holmes, Dracula(the book setting), Carmilla, peoms by Lord Byron and Edgar Allen Poe. With a nice bit of Call of Cuthulu to give it a nice dark aspect.
Ok number 4 likely isn't very helpful but I honestly never really thought to much about it. I just know when i think about the setting I think about those things all kinda combined.
I just started a new thread about this.
here
Now I was finally able to get into contact with someone at Alluria Publishing. So far just kinda touching base but they are interested in a idea that would let them get back into publishing. I pitched a idea for a pledge drive to them. But if anyone else has any idea's feel free to post them. Plus I will post updates on what I find out here and hopefully get Alluria publishing to some post here as well. So if you want to see this company make it after the great products they made. Then go buy their products if you haven't yet and or post some idea's here.
Ok I posted this in another thread I will post it hear as a recap.
Ok I just got a email from... well lets just call them a reliable source of someone that would likely know and have no reason to lie. Below is quoted from the email on the record.
Quote: For the moment Alluria is dead in the water. The quality of the books was simply to high; they didn't even come close to making back what they put into them, and basicly went bankrupt. If the money stream somehow comes in, Alluria will be back. They said more off the record but because they said off the record I won't repeat what they said. Very sad to hear, but kinda what i expected. They had very high quality art and work on their books, I was kinda afraid of this. Anyways i thought I would pass this along to those that was interested.
I am going to try and see if I can get in contact with them and maybe talk them into trying a pledge drive for future products and to help recoup some of their loses.
*adds Goz's name to the crazy list* Well glad you like my reviews.
Nice review Goz.
Last time I played with Sahuagin was in U3 the final part in the Saltmarsh adventures long long ago.
Nice review End and you gave something a higher rating that I did. That's pretty rare.
Nice art.
Interesting I will check it out when i get some free time after the holidays.
Other than me? None.
Oh I seen a new post and was hoping that was a post saying it was out. Darnit.
Andrew Bigwood wrote: Oh! When did this happen? No one knows for sure who is willing to speak on the record. I did have someone involved email me with some information which I posted up in their Cerulean Sea's product thread. Basically the high quality art and products bankrupted them. They spent sadly far more than they made back.
Which is always I always read it to mean.
Cool to hear Erik. Now I want full sizes of all the new art in the blog. :)
Cool, will be adding this to my January shopping cart list.
So 6 magic items and 4 spells? Hopefully it has some alchemy and or herbalism items too now or in the future.
My first suggestion would also be convince one or more of the Druids if you can to go domain instead of pet. maybe offer some other incentives as well.
I like these just for the extra info about the holidays, for my home game.
Hopefully at the very least you give a PDF version to those that buy the book. I would love to have all the art in PDF, especially if it was easy to remove to print out to use at the table.
Depends on how close you live and if you have any extra stuff in your shipment. I believe it was mentioned they was done today with all the subscriptions beyond those with special orders. So you might want to mention it to customer service if you don't get emails for PDF's by tonight.
It is suppose to be put out in stores on Wednesday, or in two days.
Was that your subscription order? If so they didn't start mailing them until last Monday I believe. depending on where you live, this is still pretty normal. I haven't got mine yet either.
If it is another order then ignore my post. :)

your welcome.
You know I doubt it will but it would be neat if the crown of the world map matched up with the top of the Inner Sea Map, which in turn matched up with the Dragon Empire map to more or less make one big map. Just saying.
Zahariel wrote: This will be the first Map Folio I get (but hopefully not the last), so I'm wondering, when it says "huge", just how big are we talking exactly? 8 panels the size of a sheet of paper. Normally 4 rows tall and 2 columns wide. So for a idea just lay out 8 of your campaign books out like that to get a rough idea. Lay two books with the spins facing away from you with the ends touching in the middle. Then 6 more books 3 in each row towards you like

that is how the 8 panel map in Carrion Crown was anyways.
That why you use a clear plastic stick figure mini stuck in a base.
This is more of just a map, so more something someone like d20pfsrd.com could do. One of the web pages that collect information about Pathfinder and Golarion.

So far looks overwhelming like male, no military service, and 30+ age.
Can you wear pants if you have the moon domain? :)
