Wow! I love your website. Great design. Added to favorites!

Agreed.
Yeah. I'm looking forward to seeing some of these other products as well. A lot of these companies I have seen in pdf stores, so check those out for some of these future products, though I'm guessing a lot of them, like Necromancer Games, will also have print product.

But just so I don't turn this into another Destruction of the Realms thread...
Long live 3.5 and 3.P!
Whether WoTC suffers financially (not saying I want them too) from the large number of people who will continue to play 3.5 and Pathfinder or not (and I am not saying there or more or less people playing 3E than 4E, just that there are a lot of people still playing 3.5/Pathfinder). I think this will probably be a future business model for other RPG industry (and maybe even WoTC) on better ways to change editions in order to keep from alienating a significant portion of your fan base.
I think 3.5 and especially Pathfinder will continue to be succesful well into the future.

I won't be scrapping the 3.5 stuff (not after the work I've put it).
I'm thinking the Pathfinder will probably be a new program based on the NPC generator with a seperate menu option (I'm going away from the idea of a pathfinder flag on my current generator).
Seperate menu option is a great idea. Thanks for answering my question.

I can't read the novels anymore either. I tried... I really tried... Everytime I read something in a novel about the spellplague it made me cringe. I had to stop. Now I no longer buy Realms novels unless they are older ones. I even avoid new novels by my favorite authors now. Sad.

This is very sad.

So true! I have that old feeling again.

We should never forget this slap in the gaming community's face. Yes. It was a dark day when I learned about the Realms. The removal of pdf's was another dark day. I once loved WOTC very much, but our divorce has been bitter.
Your work does rock! Thank you for your time and effort.

I think you are probably right about upgrading to pathfinder, I'll certainly start thinking about it. I don't think I'm allowed to release anything before the official launch of the book but I can certainly start planing.
I hope you don't scrap all of the 3.5 stuff though. Would be nice if both 3.5 and Pathfinder were supported. I don't know how difficult that would be, but a lot of people will still be playing 3.5 for a very long time.
Can you use Dundjinni maps with Maptools? Also, has anyone tried Fantasy Grounds? If so which do you prefer?

As another poster said somewhere, the thing I would like to thank WOTC for the most though is the OGL! What a brilliant piece of work by the powers that 'were' at the time.

No play-testing by players, it was all internally tested...
Them slamming 3.5 and saying 4e was far superior but still D&D...
This is why I am so happy with Paizo. Large and long playtest. Backward compatable AP's for those who do not want to switch.

What is quite funny is that we are starting to see your Myths 3-... coming supporters of the PFRPG to people that are not interested. As they say, the more things change, the more they stay the same. I think it is perfectly reasonable for an intelligent gamer who loves either 3.5 or 4E (or any other version of any other RPG) to look over PFRPG and say, "this is not for me."

There are two myths in my opinion that amount to marketing spin-doctors trying to stay on-message:

>I believe it is a myth/propaganda that somehow the community must never let WIZARDS tank, because to do so would be to destroy the whole hobby. Oh, I beg your pardon? What a convenient way to govern with fear, "you're either for us or you're against us." No matter what, the hobby survives, and as Monte recently alluded to in one of his podcasts, the near future may see a fantasy gaming community made of many small companies or gamers creating games for gamers, rather than a mega company monopolizing the industry.

There is also myth #3. You have to play the game to see if you like it, otherwise you are ignorant. I don't call it ignorance, I call it discernment. An intelligent gamer can read a set of rules and tell whether he or she likes a game. There are many RPG's and boardgames I have passed on after reading the rules, others I have bought. Some were my style, others were not. I have passed on many 3PP modules and supplements for 3E after looking them over, many others I have bought.
Myth #3 leads to Myth #4. You can't just play one game and know whether you like it or not, you have to play for at least a year.
Which leads to Myth #5. You can't just play to level 10 and know whether you like it or not, you have to play to level 20.
Which leads to Myth #6. You can't just play to level 20 and know whether you like it or not, you have to get into epic levels.
Which leads to Myth #7. You can't just play into epic with one class and know whether you like it or not, you have to play another class.
And on, and on, and on...
I looked over PFRPG Beta and knew that I would like it. Is that ignorance...?
Ok, that makes sense now. It's the DC that is constitution based with the +4 racial bonus, not the save. Thanks for the response.
According to the SRD, when the rust monster uses its Rust(Ex) ability on magical armor, the magical armor must make a constitution based reflex save that includes a +4 racial bonus. My questions are:
1) How can armor make a reflex save? Or does the character make the save?
2) How can a reflex save be constitution based? I thought reflex saves used dex. Do you make the base save for the character and add the constitution modifier?
3) What is the +4 racial bonus? Is armor a race for purposes of this save? Or does it use the character's race?
Thanks for the help.
Forgot to mention that City of the Spider Queen was 3.0 and I was going to have to do some tweaking on it anyway, but if anyone has done Red hand of Doom or City of the Spider Queen in Pathfinder, I would love to hear some feedback on them.
Thanks.
Great. Sounds like and easy fix then. Thanks for the response )
I'm new to Pathfinder RPG, just downloaded Beta, and I am looking forward to the changes. I just started a new group on 3.5 and was planning on doing Red Hand of Doom and then City of the Spider Queen. Has anyone tried these with PFRPG? Can I play them as is, with PC's using PFRPG classes at the recommended levels? Should I start them at lower levels since there seems to be a power creep for PFRPG? And how much extra modification will it take to DM these modules? Any help would be appreciated.
Also, has anyone tried any of the Goodman Games DCC's with PFRPG?
Thanks

I've been a little bummed out since the launch of 4E (just my personal feeling - not meant to put down fans of 4E) and even changed my browser home page a few times looking for that 'right' place to call my home. I have heard about Pathfinder RPG for some time now but didn't check it out because I still like 3.5 so much.
I recently downloaded the Pathfinder Beta thinking I would just check it out, but was still determined to stick with the original 3.5. Now that I've seen it, my mind is changed and so is my browser home page. I'm going Pathfinder all the way. It is still my 3.5, but better. I feel energized again!
All I can say now is: Thank you Paizo, for doing the bold thing and continuing the evolution of the game in this direction.
I'm just kicking myself for not checking it out sooner so that I could have been involved in the playtesting. That would have been fun.
I can't wait until August. Now I just have to figure out which subscriptions I want. *rubs hands*
I'm just wondering: Is there a Pathfinder magazine, similar to the printed Dragon?

Gorbacz wrote: How to bash the third preview... well, we could go with a few scenarios:
THE DEN BASH
The third iconic is made of paizil fael. It's exception-based design smells of suck and buhlmanism. She lasts two and a half rounds against my Druid/Expert/Malconvoker/Shadowspeaker of Shorkorsto/Shark with Friggin' Laser Beams. Seriously, if Paizo thinks they will succeed with a book which COMPLETETLY IGNORES my 89 page PDF "Book of Not Fael", well, it means Paizo is made of fael. Their only redeeming feature is that casting time of Silence is now 1 round, and that barely makes them better than Mearls School of Abject Design Fael.
THE 4E BASH
The third iconic shows everything that is wrong with previous editions. First of all, she doesn't have any cool flavour text like, "I am power and power is me". Second, it has far too much text, I got bored after the movement speed. Thirdly, her picture shows those things that adults call "boobs", and I'm not sure if such art policy extends our core competency in the target demographic. Lastly, no references to Shadowfey or Darkwild ! Really, Seoni is all about why last 30 years of D&D history are negligible and should be replaced by a swift shift of 3 squares using my daily power.
THE oWOD BASH
God kill me .. oh wait, I killed God so somebody else kill me, another preview of that dumb wargame for teen rednecks. So many numbers...my head hurts. It's all about rolling the stupid dice, where's her angst-ridden backstory ? Where is the bit where she gets raped by her vampire mother ? Or about how she little and insignificant she is next to an ancient werewolf or a primal ghost who both live on the same street ? And finally, where's the g$!~++n conspiracy story featuring cyborg assassin ninja demon hunter corporation from hell ? Beh ... cry me a river, I'm off to slash my wrists.
Very funny stuff. These sound just like the posts from those sites.
