Liberty's Edge

The next AP does not interest me, nor so far does the one following it. At this time I would like to cancel my subscription.

If I'm not wrong, that's Joanna Gaskell "Edda" and Edwin Perez "Fernando" from Standard Action amongst those eager Pathfinders in the PaizoCon 2012 pic.

It is the 19 Desnus, 4713 AR. The weather has been cool, but not too unusually so for this time of year. Most attribute it to being cooped up under the forest canopy for days now, travelling ever southwards towards Almas. The cool river weaves its way in and out of your view from the worn but not overly well-kept cart path that connects the lands hereabouts.

The caravan masters and a few guards have returned from a fruitful stopover in Fusil, putting all in a good mood. One of the servants of the masters delivered a couple of bottles of good wine and fresh pot of stew picked up in the town, a thank you reward for everyone's efforts thus far. It was well received, and quickly devoured. Afterwards, everyone once more set about there duties, and the camp settled in for the night, as a few dark clouds pass overhead, blotting out the few glimpses of the moon and stars that peek down upon the cheery band.

This night, the rotation is such that you find yourself with a night free of watch duty, and you have turned in for a well deserved and much needed full night's rest. Or so you had hoped.

Here is the discussion thread for our campaign. You can post questions, out of character comments, or whatever game related you do not wish directly coming out of your character in this thread.

Welcome to the campaign. Let's have fun and tell a story worthy of the ballads of olde.

I have a group of players at the workplace interested in playing Pathfinder, but they can't find the time to get together as a group due to differing schedules, thus a PbP.

I have been re-working the Temple of Elemental Evil/Return to the ToEE series to fit Pathfinder and Golarion, replacing BBEG Tharizdun with Rovagug. I plan to set the campaign at the start at least, in Eastern Andoran, near the Sellen River and Verduran Forest, with some unique twists.

The campaign will start with a caravan journey from Woodsedge in Galt down towards Almas in Andoran, eventually stopping along the way in the small town of Hommlet.

As it stands I have 2 to 4 players locally, so I am interested in adding 2-3 others to fill out the group, depending on the final number of local players. What I am looking for right now is players interested in joining up, capable of posting at least once daily, and willing to work together to stop the release of something terrible upon the Inner Sea.

At the moment, a brief character description/snapshot is all I am seeking, with a cutoff of May 27th, with final decision to be made on May 30th, and game start on May 31st.

Character Guideline Info:

Nationalities, regions and races common to the campaign:
Andoran, Galt, Kyonin, River Kingdoms, and Taldor
Five Kings Mountains, Fog Peaks, Sellen River, Tandak Plains, and Verduran Forest
Dwarves, Elves, Half-Elves, Halflings, and Humans

Attributes= Total 25 point buy
Minimum Attribute Before Racial Modification: 8
Maximum Attribute Before Racial Modification: 18
As per the fourth level advancement, remember to increase one attribute by 1 point, which may exceed the above maximum limit.

Races = Core Races (Options may be considered per DM discussion/approval)

Classes = Core Classes (Other Pathfinder Class options may be considered per DM discussion/approval)

Character Level starts at 5th, using the Med Exp Track, 15001 XP

Hit Points: Max for first level, average after 1st

Skills or Feats - Any Pathfinder option appropriate to character background

Traits - choose 2 appropriate to character background
Choices must be appropriate to character race, region, and background
(Other options may be considered per DM discussion/approval)

Starting Gold: 11,000 gp No item may cost more than 2700 gp value
Include a mount and related gear, as well as at least a three changes of clothing (for realism).

Factions - The following Factions are available at the start of the campaign
Pathfinder Society (Andoran, Grand Lodge, Silver Crusade, Taldor)
Bloodstone Swords (River Kingdom background)
Eagle Knights (Andoran background)
Green Faith (Nature background)
Lion Blades (Taldor background)
(Other options may be considered per DM discussion/approval)

Hero Points will be included (each character will start with 1 Hero Pt)

Arrows, bolts, and sling bullets recoverable on DC 15 Dex roll

Encumberance will be acknowledged and its effects followed, though not exactingly tracked. I will be creating Herolab sheets for each character to keep simple track.

Racial and regional issues may well affect characters in certain situations, be forewarned.

Encounter areas are dynamic and evolving; resting and recovery works for both sides.

Misc bonuses/penalties may be rewarded/imposed, dependent upon campaign development. To that end, I will be assigning an appropriate Campaign Trait to each character, so if there is one you like, feel free to mention it.

Welcome everyone. First off, I hope everyone has finished up with character creation, if not, let me know and I'll help out if I can.

I would like to help flesh out the campaign and include as much input into designing the game to fit your characters as I can, so if you have things you want to develop around your agent, let me know here or privately at dearmsteadjr@aol.com.

From everyone I would like to get a Knowledge roll, to see how much,if anything, you may know about M Cell.

Also I would like to get a Luck roll, to see how the fates are viewing your agents at the start of the game. This roll will effect some of the things to come, but just how may not be readily apparent.

Also, if you aged your agent beyond EDU + 6, don't forget to include the bonus points and age modifiers.

Welcome to the Apocalypse.

The last few months have been stressful, both for the world, and for those who are considered agents of Delta Green. With wars waging on the frontlines of Iraq and Afghanistan, many support and governmental operations undertaken throughout Europe and the Middle East, not to mention nations of South and Central Americas quickly devolving into a modern day Wild West, the people who stand the HIDDEN front lines do so more alone and under-supported than ever before. At home, the President of the United States makes apologies for the greatness of a country and of a people many brave men and women have bleed and died to protect. His unduly appointed and unrepentant Intelligence Czar wages both a public as well as private campaign to root out “subversive” elements within the auspices of the federal government. Majestic 12 and Delta Green are sidelined, driven deeper underground while the world changes daily around them. Many federal agencies are forced to work together in new and confusing ways; publicly a unified and cooperative effort, while privately secretive and protective of their own respective turfs.

No one knows what will happen next, but you brave few continue onward, watchful of events, signs, and portents, anxious to get back into “real” service. Many DG assets are bored of the day to day, yet fearful of the day the call comes once more. A Cell has been quiet. Some cells have folded, others gone dark, a few even lost to the ravages of enemies too numerous to count.

For the agents of N Cell, these days have been filled with monotony and the all too tedious rigors of real life job requirements. That is until today. Today, the call came, the summons issued; N Cell is to activate, to immediately report for service. Something has happened that needs to be addressed, and immediately. A small manilla envelope arrived through the mailroom of your agency or department. Seemingly routine correspondence, nothing alarming, save for the tiny green Delta stamp smudged on the corner and a small notecard of white stationary with green print in Times New Roman. The note indicated an emergency meeting had been declared. A fellow Delta Green agent has been discovered dead, dead after having been missing for just over three weeks. His entire cell is in fact dead, deceased under what would appear at first glance to be “normal” circumstances. Connections between the victims were lost to the authorities, lost to their families, lost to everyone but those who knew what those people truly were, and who knew the efforts they had quietly undertaken for the people of this world.

Lunch plans were quickly cancelled, and you found yourselves entering Tyson's Buffet in Rockville, MD. A waitress at the door greeted you gruffly, ushering you to a table away from the buffet line, seperated by a tall tan screen. A dark-skinned man waited at the table, already piled with a variety of dishes, as well as an accordian folder with a small green M on the attached locking tag. Gentlemen, enjoy your meal, but eat quickly, some of you have a plane to catch. He motions for you to take a seat.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

So, I've played in a few games, I've run a game or two, I've designed a few scenarios, I've even brainstormed outlines for the evils yet to come. Now, I'm thinking about attempting a pbp Delta Green game for a few agents, current timeline, leading up to the end of times, or at least what some call 2012.

I'm thinking about 4-6 agents or friendlies; brave souls that have realized things man was not meant to know really do exist, and most of them don't seem to like us very much, unless of course it's with a side of fava beans and a nice Chiante.

Right now I'm gauging interest, full blown character sheets are not necessary. What I'd like to see is a short writeup of a character bio, including their professions, covers, and involvement with Delta Green and A Cell.

The setting will begin in and around Washington DC/Northern Virginia, in mig January 2012. Government or military backgrounds are preferred for agents, other careers will be considered for friendlies. Exceptions are of course possible, depending upon the hook and concept.

Liberty's Edge

Anybody know where I can find a copy of Warlock's Walk? My net-fu has been wonky, and I can't seem to find it anywhere. Thanks in advance.

Liberty's Edge

Due to changing employment positions, at this time I need to suspend my Adventure Path subscription. I will resume once finances catch up to demand. Thanks.

While conducting matters in the town of Restov, you are approached by a liveried attendent bearing a missive and a small pouch of coins. Upon confirmation of your identity, the man hands you the scroll and pouch, indicating you are being invited to an event in two days time.

The contents of the missive are as follows:

Note:

By special invitation, you are summoned to a luncheon and meeting hosted by and for the benefit of the Swordlords of Restov, agency of Brevoy. Accompanied you shall receive an inducement of 150 gold talons, for your appearance and discretion in this matter. A coach shall be made available on the morrow after next, half past 10 bells in Downgreen Plaza, to take you and other guests to this occassion. Should you deign to appear, no issue shall arise, and you are thanked by the Swordlords of Restov for the courtesy and discretion it is assured you will show in this matter.

Respectfully,

Jouls Dunkrint
Council to the Lordship
Swordlord of Restov

The funds are the additional gold each player started with, not additional funds.

If possible, please indicate any reasons each character is in Restov, if backgrounds do not already offer explanation.

Welcome to the game. I hope it turns out fun for all of us.

Anyone interested,

I’m opening up recruiting for one to three players for a new Kingmaker PbP I plan to run. Three are reserved for friends who will be playing a Human Bard, a Human Sorceror of a Draconic Heritage and a Human Witch with the Trickery Patron. A fourth spot is reserved for a maybe player, yet to be determined. I’ll close this recruitment thread Friday, May 27th 9:00 PM EST and announce the final selections on Saturday, May 28th.

I am looking for posters that can keep pace, once a week or so isn't likely to last. The group seems eager to post daily or every other day. A history is helpful, but no one will be excluded for experience or lack thereof.

Character creation:

• Races: All standard races from the PFRPG (Core Rulebook) will be allowed. Racial options from the Advanced Player's Guide (APG) will be allowed.
• Classes: All classes (Base and Prestige) from the Core Rulebook and the APG will be allowed. Any Archetype for these base classes from the APG will be allowed. Material from Ultimate Magic and Ultimate Combat may be allowed, with DM approval and compelling character backstory.
• Favored Class: The favored class options from the Core Rulebook and APG will be acceptable.
• Alignment: Characters can be any Good or Neutral alignment. No evil alignments will be allowed.
• Abilities: Characters will be based on the Epic Fantasy (25 point buy) found in the Core Rulebook. No ability can be raised higher than 18 (prior to racial modifiers). Only one ability can be lowered below 10 and that ability cannot be lowered below 8 (after racial modifiers).
• Feats: Any feat from the Core Rulebook or APG will be acceptable. Other official Paizo feats from unlisted sources will have to be approved by the DM.
• Traits: Character's will start with three traits, one of which MUST be either from the Kingmaker Campaign, the Kingmaker Region, or an appropriate Racial Trait.
• Hit Points: Characters will start out with Maximum hit points for their class at 1st level.
• Starting Gold: Characters will start with Maximum Starting Gold for their base class, plus 150 Gold as an advance from the charter council.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. Please post at the minimum a character synopsis and short back story as a resume.

* As a note, the group seems interested in including running a kingdom as part of the campaing. Please have an interest in what sort of role(s) your character may like to fill.

Liberty's Edge

Lost my first D&D character to the Medusa in the Caves of Chaos. The old system really taught you to stay on your toes. No rhyme or reason to what you might find. Good times.

Liberty's Edge

I am showing two chronicles from sessions played at Origins 09 are missing/not reporting on my character's Sessions list. These were Scenario 22, played on 06/24 event code 6098 and Scenario 24, played on 06/25 event code 6380. Will I need to play these mods again to get credit? My pathfinder Society # is 2008-1. We have been waiting to post home games until we are sure all is well, so as to not interfere with the reporting. If I have to play these again, my home group wants to roll with them. Otherwise, I intended to run them for the group, with our regular DM playing a pregen just for the fun of playing. Any info or help anyone? Thanks.
