Daniel keeps concentrating on the evil auras in the room...

As the initial disorientation has passed, Daniel focused his will in a prayer to Abadar: "Master of the First Vault, show me those who violated the laws of the fair trade so that I may prosecute them."
Detect Evil - since it works through walls and such, hopefully it can also work while blinded.

*sigh* I am useless again :(
Can I target my Bastion of Good ability versus Shaolo while blind? I suppose not, since it says 'functions like smite evil' and smite evil says 'choose target within sight'.
Then it's total defense for me I guess.

Will save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10

Daniel's eyes go wide with surprise as Nester cries foul, and that spells his doom as the barmaid's spell blasts. Blinded, he draws his sword and holds it in front of himself, turning on one spot, but does not strike in fear of hitting any allies.

Blindness is the bane of Daniel... How long is it going to last?

Since there is only 10% chance for Daniel to pass this DC, can I use this roll to assist Astarton instead?
Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12

While Nester is crouched over the relic, Daniel attempts to engage Shaolo in small talk.
"My name is Daniel. We are here on behalf of Lady Gloriana Morilla. Which clan do you represent?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

Daniel sits tensely upright and refuses any drinks.
"Our quest is not over yet. Someone has to stay vigilant. Aspis agents can be waiting for us."

"And a good day to you, as well."
"Our business takes us to Escadar. We've heard you are able to ferry us there. We'll consider paying extra if no screaming is involved."

But on the other hand, since we're Pathfinders, we can find information about the whereabouts and exploits of Darice's father, as a token of gratitude? I'd rather choose this lady. But Small Otti seems like a safe choice too, provided he drinks after the journey and not while on it.

Round 3 Ref save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Not particularly eager to have his head taken by any children, Daniel finally escapes the grasp of the animated plants.
He trots past Jericho and approaches the Bog Mother, hoping to disrupt her further resistance.
Double move

Daniel attempts to whack the reptile as it crawls away.
AOO: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Dmg: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Oh, sorry! Who's that grey-skinned avatar in a red circle next to Daniel? It got me confused. Disregard my last post.

Round 1 - Daniel made the save rolled by GM.
Evading the twisting plants, Daniel runs towards the crocodile.
Double move through difficult terrain - 4 squares to the left.

Round 2 - can I keep my Ref save of 14? If not, feel free to reroll for me.
Still plowing through the abundant undergrowth, Daniel approaches the crocodile.
Another double move, reaching the crocodile but no actions left to attack

Sorry for the delay, similar to Jericho but a business trip instead of a vacation
Round 1
The plants fail to entangle Daniel as he attempts to grasp the nature-worshipping kobold.
Grapple, provoke AOO
EDIT: didn't see that the save for round 1 was made
CMB: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

Round 2
Having the kobold in his grasp, Daniel attempts to wrestle it to the ground to make it surrender.
CMB: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Ref save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

Fort save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Fort save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

Daniel watches Wuze effortlessly tumbling between patches of dry land, and whistles in amazement. He himself is forced to remove the armor before attempting to cross the treacherous moor.
Carrying a strapped shield does not influence ACP, right?

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

"I'm fine, but I'm worried for Wuze. He doesn't look so good. Has he run out of booze to drink?"

I posted in the Discussion thread but figured I'll repost here:
Daniel doesn't have survival, so he'll be relying on the fort saves. I propose we put Nester in the wagon, and start a fire. Daniel will try to go without a blanket for at least first 2 hours.
EDIT: by blankets I mean cold gear sets, I guess.

Fort save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Fort save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Fort save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Fort save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Not sure if the dice roller is working fine after the boards update...

Hour by hour makes sense to me, in a way that if somebody freezes after hour 1 he can snatch a blanket and keep warm for the rest of the night.

"Alas, we are too late. But at least we are lucky to have missed the worst spells of cold. Do you think we could conceivably bury them?"
Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3

Daniel points out the half-buried wagon to his companions.
"There might be somebody needing help up there! Perhaps they've been overwhelmed by a snow storm. The camaraderie of the road demands that we help fellow travellers in need, like the centaurs helped us."

Daniel looks at others. "This sounds like a good deal to me unless anyone bothered to prepare for the cold nights? Except for Wuze, that is."

Danield lowers his spear in exasperation.
"Thank you, you've done more than enough for us. Was this the beast you have been looking for?"

I posted my round 1 action at the same time as you :) . Though I confused Astarton with Jericho, sorry about that.

Daniel cries "Astarton! NOOO!" before attempting to skewer the deadly beast with his polearm.
Atk: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Dmg: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Daniel draws the masterwork longspear he got from the centaurs and prepares to repel the creature.

Daniel shouts as loud as he can, hoping to wake up the group and also either scare away the beast or draw its ire:
"ALARM! Get up! The beast attacks!"
I hope Daniel has his armor on and weapons with him?

Daniel is fine with the middle watch since he doesn't need to prepare spells.

The map link is at the top left of the page, under the campaign title. There are some interesting tokens in there! o.0

"I have flint and steel, we could arrange the fire. As for smoke signals, maybe they can be imitated by pulling a wet blanket over the bonfire and back?"

If anyone here is interested in running a campaign, I am in a Serpent's Skull campaign with pretty good players. We were about 3 weeks in and then the DM just switched the campaign to inactive and said he did not want to deal with the issues. Issues that we have all seen a dozen times on PbP. If anyone is interested, or know someone who wants to DM a Serpent's Skull campaign, please let me know.

Here is the OOC thread for the now inactive campaign.

Serpent's Skull

We have a mwangi elf wizard, a vanara ranger, a human cleric (me), and a human bard(archeologist). If someone wants to take over, we can play with 4 players, this group is decently balanced I think, or pick up 1-2 more.

As I said, we had only played for about a month, so very little has happened and we could easily restart if necessary.

Daniel will hold the rope from his end for whoever is willing to use it. Once everyone makes it, he himself will attempt to ford the river.
Str check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

Daniel regards the log with suspicion.
"This log doesn't look very reliable. Can we cut down that tree to the right of it instead?"
I vote for not chasing the cat.

Does anyone want to call dibs on the MW Longspear? If not, I'll keep it.
Daniel stops and draws his weapon, observing the surroundings.
Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10
"I wonder if this is the work of that predator the Centaurs warned us about. Jericho, can you confirm the cause of death?"

Daniel allows himself to smile. "I'm not sure they would be excited to go under human roof and eat human food, anyway. They are closely bonded with the nature, and we are lucky to be treated so kindly by them. I prefer to think of it as a good omen."

"We are in your debt, friends. Should you require our assistance, you can seek us out in the Absalom Pathfinder Lodge. Fare thee well and good hunting to you."
Daniel marches forward, his spirits lifted by the selfless kindness of the creatures.

"Our path lies to the north, through the mountains. We would gladly assist you and make our own journey safer, but we still have a long way to go and cannot allow ourselves to be delayed. Unless you know how we could pass the mountains quicker?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Hello? Anyone still here?
Daniel salutes the noble creatures.
"Thank you for the information. We will be doubly watchful. Incidentally, which way are you pursuing it now?"

Oh, right. Well have we settled on the topic of transport? We also probably need a rope and grappling hook, some extra rations to last us a week, something to keep us warm at night (blankets? A tent?) and likely something else I haven't thought of. Anyone has a Wayfinder?

I'm not in the US so I'll be here through the weekend.

"I spoke not of them as individuals, but as a society. Humans are also diverse but there have been human kingdoms ruled by evil tyrants. But I guess my perception of their harsh ways was born out of prejudice. I shall find a way to atone for that."

"Grandmaster, what do you know of the gillmen? They are obviously savages, but are they predisposed towards evil? Or are they simply forced to their harsh ways as means of survival when pressed by the civilized races?"

"How long is the road to Escadar? Are any means of transport available to us, or must we travel on foot?"

I'm fine either way.
Also I initially said Daniel will buy a heavy shield, but forgot that it incurs additional penalties when using it as a weapon, so I'll stick with the light shield, just add spikes.
Also Daniel will strive to donate 10% of his income to the church of Abadar, which makes 84 gp for the last two adventures.
In the end, he is left with 285gp.

Oh, that is fine. I'll just keep the 300gp for now then :)

Dotting and adding to my RSS. I thought my post back in Part 2 discussion kinda implied that I'm going to continue; anyway, I'm confirming it now.

Thanks Xzaral! For Daniel, this went a bit underwhelming (mostly due to my IRL hurdles), but I hope to fare better next time.
Daniel had 18gp left over from starting gear, 417gp for Part 1 and 419gp for Part 2 make for a total of 854gp.

Daniel will buy a heavy metal shield with spikes (-30gp) and sell his light metal shield (+4.5 gp).
He would also upgrade his sword to a masterwork quality (-300gp).
Change his armor from scale mail (+25gp) to chainmail (-150gp).
Finally, he will buy a potion of CLW and a potion of Lesser Restoration (350gp).

This leaves him with 53.5 gp.

"As I understand, the katana is now a property of the Lantern Lodge. You'll have to see Amara Li about that. Or perhaps, you would like us to speak to her on your behalf?"

I'm good.

Sorry, Daniel was unconscious at the time :) And that magical creature also blinded us. He meant that creature.

Daniel agrees with the Amara Li decision
"Milady, perhaps you'd be interested to know that the katana was in possession of a strange creature, which seemed to be not of this world." Daniel proceeds to describe the blinding frog.
to the Major
"It is a pity that our clerics cannot find a way to grant mercy to such creatures. Watching what was left of her good soul being utterly consumed by the unspeakable curse was loathsome."

While waiting to pass the time, Daniel made a thorough inspection of the room they were in. Take 20 on Perception = 18 :)
After that he stood guard diligently until he heard, to his relief, that the sight was returning to his companions.
"I agree - the mission looks accomplished to me. Let's get back to the Lodge."

Daniel grunts and takes another step forward to attempt to flank the creature, then retaliates:
5-foot step up
Atk (sword): 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 1 = 8
Atk (shield): 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 1 = 13
in case the shield connects
Dmg(shield): 1d3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 = 5
