DM:
Daelin brings her rapier back and thrusts toward one of the small statues.

Attack Statue 1 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14 Damage 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 Sneak Attack 1d6 ⇒ 4

DM:
Initiative 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Startled at the appearance of the weird creatures, Daelin takes a step back drawing her rapier and readying to strike.

DM:
"This has to be where he keeps the notes." Daelin thinks to herself as she enters the library.

Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

DM:
Is there enough light throughout the house for me to see using my low-light vision? Also not sure how often you need stealth checks 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13.

Daelin moves toward the doorway leading to the front of the house. She will make her way through the first floor as fast as possible to locate the library.

DM:
Daelin sat for a few hours outside the Goblin trying to determine a plan of approach. That night she traveled to the Windward District to locate the residence and determine where the housekeeping staff resides at night. The next night Daelin makes her move, before setting out, she will devise a hopefully clever disguise to cover her identity. Arriving at the best perceived spot for breaking in and checking for traps and keeping an eye out for any staff members. If possible take 20 on a disguise check before leaving to assume a different person and race (Check 22), Stealth 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27, Perception for traps 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25, Perception for Staff 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
I know he is a diviner, but I have no defense against that. I took no ranks in UMD.

DM:

Spoiler:
Daelin will collect as much info as possible on Augustus Blakely's residence, such as spells, traps and guards.

Knowledge Local 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

DM:

Spoiler:
"I would be happy to acquire what you seek Saul. Give me the information and I will be off."

DM:

Spoiler:
"How ruthless are we talkin' Saul?" Daelin asks with a questionable look.

DM:

Spoiler:
A little frustrated about her outcome with the thieves guilds, Daelin has started thinking of ways to operate under another persona or just work for Saul on the side.

Daelin approaches Saul in and asks for a minute to talk in private. "Sir, are you wanting to do any jobs or acquire anything under anonymity? I am quite capable of behind the scenes action. I will only keep a small portion of wealth for myself and contribute the rest to the Goblin's earnings."

DM:

Spoiler:
Daelin would like to join one of the local thieves guilds that is not associated with Zincher or Saul. I don't know any yet, but can roll some diplomacy checks while hanging out in the right places. Maybe do some small side jobs and put some toward the Goblin's profits.
Knowledge Local 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Diplomacy 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

As the week progresses, Daelin will make her way outside to be a barker, trying to draw people in with her charm. When not outside, Daelin will entertain the crowd with minor tricks as she makes her way through the crowd.

2 hours of barker: Bluff 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
2 hours of entertainment: Sleight of Hand 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

Daelin spends her time performing tricks on the main floor and being a barker outside of the Goblin.

Sleight of Hand 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27, Bluff 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

"I'm beginning to believe Mr. Zincher was a decoy. That snake literally had Saul's name on it." Daelin comments while propping Lyre's head against her knee.

I figured I would drag her back just past you. Out of reach of the snake, hopefully.

Since I'm pretty sure Tippy will be busy with the cook, I'll grab Lyre and drag her out of the kitchen with my withdrawl.

Seeing her chance as Tsadok and Antianel rush in after the snake, Daelin grabs Lyre by her arms and drags her out of the kitchen. "Hold on hon'. We'll get you fixed up in a minute."

Technically you are flat-footed until you act on your initiative. Your initiative was right after the snakes, so your sleep spell hadn't actually started yet.

Seeing Lyre get a huge chunk bit out of her, Daelin yells back at the group. "Lyre is down, someone get her out of here. This snake is powerful!"

On my turn I'm gonna go ahead and withdraw.

Lyre wrote:

Uh Lyres Ac is 15 so I don't think the crit confirmed which means she is at 3hp?

flat-footed?

Not seeing an easy access point to the snake, Daelin draws one of her trusty daggers and throws it toward the coiled serpent.

Ranged Dagger Attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 Damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

How far is the snake from me roughly? Is there room behind it or is it backed against a wall?

"I may not be able to talk to animals, but that snake looks none to happy." Daelin responds to Lyre, giving her a quizzical look.

Initiative 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

Hearing the creature's hiss, Daelin figures it is not going so well and draws her rapier and moves into the kitchen behind Lyre. "Negotiations not going so well hon?" Daelin comments with a slight grin. "That's got to be the biggest snake ever!" She exclaims with wide eyes.

Did you want Initiative for all of us DM?

Daelin refuses the coin, though it hurts her to she the money go.

As the scream pierces the crowd of the Gold Goblin, Daelin perks up from her position on the catwalk and makes her way down the stair and into the kitchen. "How big a snake we talkin'?" She asks in an excited voice, her hand resting on her rapier's hilt.

As the day goes on, Daelin will make her way through the crowd as near as possible to Clegg performing tricks and talking up customers, trying to listen in on his conversations and keep an eye on the man.

"Will do boss." Daelin says to Saul as she returns to the stage.

My diplomacy is +6, looks like you have it Tippy.

Daelin finishes up her last performance since Saul approached her and exit the stage area making her way upstairs to the catwalk. "I wonder if there is a problem.” she thinks as she rushes toward the stairs.

Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

Daelin wraps up her performance abruptly and gives a quick bow. She makes her way through the crowd quickly to the bar. Standing behind the sailors Daelin announces in a loud voice "Why don't we even this group up a little more gents?" while palming a dagger.

Sleight of Hand 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

"Oh thank you sir! I would like to get started right away. I will help clean up for now." Daelin responds with a giddy giggle, then proceeds to where Antianel and Lyre are cleaning up and begins to straighten things up. Offering her hand for a shake to Antianel and Lyre "Nice to meet you both, I am Daelin. Seems like we are gonna be workin' together."

At Saul’s request, Daelin brings her hand up next to his ear and gives it a good wiggle, then brings her hand back with a shiny coin. ”How long have you been hiding this up there sir? I bet you forgot about it.” Daelin says with a big grin. The feat would be far less amazing if she had been wearing a shirt with sleeves.

Sleight of Hand 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Hey Daelin - if you're still watching and haven't given up hope, you're on!
I was waiting in anticipation :)
Awesome. Just show up for your interview! ;)

Posted, good sir.

As if on cue to Saul’s mention of hiring, a slender female elf with black hair and an inviting smile slowly walks over to the group. ”Excuse me sir.” She says in a sweet tone directed at Saul. ”I couldn’t help but overhear that you are in need of employees after what took place today. The name is Daelin sir and I can be very persuasive to passersby and have a pretty quick hand to entertain guests. Would you consider me for a position? I am sorely in need of employment.”

Shisumo, would it be cool to use sleight of hand in place of perform to entertain? I can also do acrobatics or security.

Sorry it took a bit, but she is done. I'll keep an eye out on the IC thread.

She is good to go if you want to give her a once over real quick.

I can use her. Just let me know what adjustments I need to make.
Other than moving her background to Riddleport, she should work just fine. She'll need some reason to be looking for a job at a local casino called the Gold Goblin, however.
Do you know any of the campaign traits that I can trade one of mine for?
Second Darkness' campaign traits are really very strongly tied to the gambling tournament that opens the storyline, so I'm not sure it's worth the effort right now. That said, the SD Player's Guide is a a fairly cheap download, so if you want to take a look at it and see if anything jumps out at you, go right ahead. Otherwise, I'd leave it be.

I will leave her as is. I can update her soon snd let you know.

They may be waiting on you to post something catman. If you want to, then see if it picks up.

Neither of them seem to be on yet today. We can do whatever you want catman, it is up to you.

sigh.... do you want to continue because as I stated I can bring npc in.

Gameender and Max are both in some of my other games. Let me see if I can reel them back in.

oh... well i will be out of town this weekend too. so we'll see by tues.

Sounds good. See you then.

I believe Gameender (Althesia) is out of town Friday to Monday and I'm not sure of his posting capability during that time. I've seen Max (Emyralda) on other posts, not sure what's up with him. As for the rest, I have no idea.

Daelin awakens as the sun's rays come through the small window in her room of the guild hall. A night of tavern stops turned into a lot of Dwarven mead. Not to many to forget the good information she received from her friend Balrun at the Three Moons Tavern though. According to her friend a caravan with a wise Varisian seer would be arriving soon. Excited at the chance of knowing what the vision meant Daelin remembered the old man at the academy. ”I should go see what the man has gathered for me.” she thought as she jumped out of bed and threw on her performing clothes. ”Hmmm, I told the man I would bring him something for troubling him. What do old bookish sorts like?” Daelin thought as she pushed through the door of the guild hall. Determined to find something good, she makes her way to the market district. Pacing by many carts she finally spots the perfect item. It is a silk bookmark adorned with images of angels. Feeling pleased with her purchase, Daelin makes her way to the academy. As she enters through the doors she stands and looks around for the man. Finally picking him out from the crowd, she makes her way towards him. ”I have a present for you! Now what did you find?”

Took out 1gp for the present. What info do I get Catman?

Emyralda has, but Glytom hasn't. We'll see I guess.

Working on a post now.

3 of our people haven't posted in days. Hopefully they show up soon.

Sorry, Didn't know if you have any input on what we have so far catman. I will post some more soon.

Enthralled by Daelin, the bookish old man took out a piece of parchment and handed her his quill.
"Will you be needing anything else my dear?"
Grabbing the parchment, Daelin sketches the iron ring with the two tiny inward-curving horns atop. "Actually there is something else. Can you ask among the scholars if any know of this symbol?" Daelin hands the sketch to the man. "I will return tomorrow with a gift for your trouble. Thank you Sir." As Daelin turns she thinks "Maybe I need to find a Harrow reader, a little mystical intervention may get me quicker results."

As the day goes on Daelin will make rounds at the local taverns to determine if any Gypsy caravans are known to be here or arriving soon.
