He redoubles his efforts, absorbing the energy of his foe's thrashing movements and pouring it right back into him as pure destructive force.

Flurry of Blows, going into Stone Oni Stance and expending one Ki point for an additional attack, augmented by kinetic force and Valor's Mantle (ignoring concealment, Hardness & DR). The first two rolls are CMB rolls to maintain the grapple (as long as one succeeds, he remains grappled), and the other attacks are to inflict damage in said grapple (or just do unarmed damage if the grapple fails).

Greater Grapple Roll 1: 1d20 + 29 + 25 ⇒ (10) + 29 + 25 = 64
Greater Grapple Roll 2: 1d20 + 29 + 25 ⇒ (12) + 29 + 25 = 66

Attack Roll: 1d20 + 21 + 25 ⇒ (13) + 21 + 25 = 59 ; Damage: 1d10 + 31 + 35 ⇒ (10) + 31 + 35 = 76
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 21 + 25 ⇒ (17) + 21 + 25 = 63 ; Damage: 1d10 + 31 + 35 ⇒ (5) + 31 + 35 = 71
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 16 + 25 ⇒ (2) + 16 + 25 = 43 ; Damage: 1d10 + 31 + 35 ⇒ (4) + 31 + 35 = 70
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 16 + 25 ⇒ (10) + 16 + 25 = 51 ; Damage: 1d10 + 31 + 35 ⇒ (4) + 31 + 35 = 70

I've already plugged Jazlizard's maps into my D20Pro for my upcoming campaign, and they look great!

Crap. Still not done studying and now I don't have enough time left to take the test this afternoon. Which means I'll have to take it on Monday which will cut into my study time for my math test on Tuesday considerably. :(

Was somebody asking something about class schedules at Avalon last week? I can't find the post (though I am admittedly a bit fuzzy at the moment).

It looks like I'll be participating in my company's yearly Inventory again, which means I'll be in our warehouse and away from my computer for the next few days.

Being able to actually play a coven is a pretty neat idea - not many groups of players want to try something with the same class. There might be a way to do it and reward that kind of solidarity....

If you're not averse to the rules variant, you could always let the three players make gestalt characters (since a party of three should roughly equal a standard 4-character party). Then just have each one take on the other needed roles (so you have something like a witch/fighter, a witch/cleric and a witch/rogue). They can all be witches, but they all are still uniquely-flavored characters in their own right, and can cover all the iconic bases.

Hello all, I've just been approved to join the OOC thread, so let me say "hello". I'm playing a Psionic (Shaper) from a faraway mountainous region, intending to be the party crafter and Astral Construct maker. I'm still reading the IC thread, so I'm still working out the group dynamics.

I've been PbP for about a year now, and I've started to play psionics exclusively because they offered more of a challenge than the usual summoning Sorcerer. I tend to play Jack-of-All-Trade types, so Gustav's going to be able to heal as well as teleport or call for help. This is the guy you drop into a bad situation with nothing but his clothes and tell him to "fix it".

I will freely admit this is my first "rules light", since I've previously played under several "evil" DMs who tended to Blue Bolt anything outside the books. When I have GM'ed I tended to be a Monty Haul in rebellion against those modules.

But, I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and overcoming challenges!

Boiltongue is indeed a crag linnorm; that's him on page 2.

And while that is indeed an ice linnorm on the cover of the book, it's not White Estrid fighting it; that's just a generic ulfen. (Note that she has blonde hair, not white hair.)

(And to try and explain my confusion on the cover - I did note the hair color, but as the two warriors' outfits and head/hair gear are so very similar to each other, I thought it possible that the cover artist just took some 'creative license' with her hair so it would show up a bit better.)

My failing search-fu has not turned up any answer to this, so I thought it best to just put the question here and be done with it... :)

I ask because I can't remember if the cover image for Land of the Linnorm Kings is supposed to be of White Estrid fighting Boiltongue (which looks like an Ice Linnorm) or not.

Contrast that with the picture on Page 2 of that book which shows what looks like White Estrid sitting on her throne with Boiltongue (which looks like a Crag Linnorm).

My personal assumption is that Boiltongue is indeed a Crag Linnorm (with his name making reference to his magma breath weapon), but I also know that assuming usually gets me into trouble. ;)

Been playing on the SWTOR beta...

It's been sucking up most of my free time :)

I just got the invite to participate in this weekend's TOR beta. I think I finally have all the patch data downloaded (fingers crossed). Only for The Old Republic would I even consider trying an MMO.... (^.^)

As it's probably the only shot I will have at playing the game, I hope I'll be able to carve out some time for it.

Mayhap if the money fairies are kind this Yule, I can look into getting Skyrim. We shall see.... (-_-)
