Does anyone else think this bears a distinct resemblance to "Dies the Fire?"

So I went to see it Yesterday and I loved it..the interaction between the heroes was classic Marvel and Wheedon did a great job.

I'll give it an A (It would have gotten an A+ if Natalie Portman had been in it)

In 1974 along with taking up playing D&D I bought my first Sword and Planet books..the entire NEL edition of the Mars and Venus stories.

I've waited 38 years for this Movie and I can say I was satisfied.roll on the rest of the Trilogy

What you expected me to Comment on the plot and the Special effect..no spoilers here except for.....

Dejah Thoris..PWHOARRRRRR

Oh and Jimmy Purefoy obviously enjoying himself immensely

And it begins...

Should the Elemental Affinity for these characters extend to other bloodlines connected with their element.

For example should a Sylph Sorceress be able to use her Air Affinity with the Djinni or Stormborn Bloodlines.

Thoughts?

Produced by..Brannon Braga (aka..The Man who killed Star Trek)

Features...Time Travel

Reaction..RUN AWAY RUN AWAY!!!!!!!

Why?

I inadvertantly duplicated a thread in the Music and Audio section..can someone please delete theone thread I have blanked

it can be found here

One of the Greats gone at (ironically) 78

I've noticed..and one of my PbP players has noticed the same thing..that ocassionally you get a line in a post that doesn't show up in normal view or when posting an initial reply but does when you edit..it's only occured in the one thread for me but it caused my player to miss some information.

Any reason for this?

I just noted what I think might be a potential problem..

The first really good weapons the party gain in this adventure are all Eastern weapons (wakizashis) and therefore Exotic..meaning that to use them they are being feat taxed from the start..

This problem gets worse when they finally get to Minkai where most of what they can buy will be Exotic..

This one could be a game breaker.

I love Radovans search technique.

Sandpoint 4 years after the defeat of Karazoug

With reports that the Licktoad goblins of Brinestump Marsh have grown unusually aggressive the mood in town is subdued.

The reason for this uncharacteristic bravery seems clear—the goblins have somehow managed to arm themselves with what appears to be a considerable supply of fireworks. The problem stems not so much from the additional “firepower” these fireworks provide as from the inflated sense of ego and power that the devices have given the goblins—the fireworks have made them dangerously brave.

Several merchant caravans and travelers have been attacked so far, and according to the victims, the damage caused by horses panicking at the sight and sound of exploding pyrotechnics is almost as destructive as the goblin attacks themselves. With the last few attacks resulting in severe injuries to three unfortunate travelers, the problem has escalated from an annoyance to a threat.

However, as none of the attacks have yet inconvenienced Magnimar (only Sandpointers and other Lost Coasters have been hit so far), the city has been slow to react. Unwilling to idly sit by and wait for the goblin problem to escalate to actual deaths on the Lost Coast Road in order to attract Magnimar’s attention, Sandpoint’s leaders have put out the call for goblin exterminators.

But after a time of upheaval a few years back involving goblins, giants, and even a dragon, Sandpoint has since returned to being a relatively sleepy town. It doesn’t take long for life to settle down once things return to normal, and with Varisia’s adventurers now more eager to try their luck at finding their fortunes in legendary Xin-Shalast, there simply aren’t a lot of volunteers to fight goblins around. Always running at a lean enrollment, Sandpoint’s city watch can’t afford to send patrols into the trackless expanse of Brinestump, although they have stepped up their presence along the Lost Coast Road itself. The task of wading into the notorious local wetland falls instead to adventurers—be they concerned locals honestly eager to aid the town or greedy mercenaries looking to make relatively easy coin.

A few adventurers have already made the attempt, but nothing has been heard of them in the 3 days since they entered Brinestump Marsh, and just last night, another round of colorful explosions burst over the wetlands south of Sandpoint. The goblins are doubtless readying a new attack!

You find yourselves in the taproom of the Rusty Dragon, the Inn run by Ameiko Kaijitsu reading the latest proclomation posted by Sherrif Hemlock

It being in the interests off us all to deal with the current unrest occuring in the district the Council make the following pronouncement. The town of Sandpoint will pay 10 gp for every relatively fresh goblin ear delivered to the town hall—with an additional reward of 300 gp for the group who can bring in the head of the Licktoads’ leader, Chief Gutwad.

Please cancel my Pathfinder RPG subscription. I am doing this to avoid the horrendous postage costs for the beginners box but will be reactivating it once Bestiary 3 is on the horizon

OK Guys heres the OOC thread as promised. We can talk classes and once the Players guide is out move on to full concepts.

I must be crazy but as the PDF will be out next week this is a call for those who are not already involved in Pay by Post Games to indicate their interest in taking part in a Jade Regent game here.

Please note that character concepts will not be required until the Players guide is available as James Jacobs has stated that it is essential to read the guide before creating a character for this AP.

From the BBC

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi has threatened to attack Europe in revenge for Nato's operations in Libya.

Col Gaddafi said Libya would target European "homes, offices, families" unless Nato stopped its campaign.

He spoke via an audio message broadcast to tens of thousands of supporters gathered in a central Tripoli square.

His message comes after France confirmed it had supplied weapons to anti-government rebels, delivering arms to Berber tribal fighters near Tripoli.

In the broadcast, played via loudspeakers to gathered crowds in the capital's Green Square, he called on supporters to "march on the western mountains", the area where the weapons had been delivered.

Then he warned Europe that Libyans would seek revenge.

"These people [the Libyans] are able to one day take this battle [...] to Europe, to target your homes, offices, families, which would become legitimate military targets, like you have targeted our homes," he said.

"If we decide to, we are able to move to Europe like locusts, like bees. We advise you to retreat before you are dealt a disaster," he added.

His message come just days after the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Col Gaddafi, his son Saif al-Islam and Libyan intelligence chief Abdullah al-Sanoussi for crimes against humanity.

International prosecutors allege government troops fired on civilian protesters during anti-Gaddafi street demonstrations earlier this year.

Friday's rally was one of the largest in recent times, says the BBC's Rupert Wingfield-Hayes, in Tripoli, and the message was the first time that Col Gaddafi had been heard of in weeks.

So has the next to last great dictator of the Arab World (after Assad in Syria) given the NATO nations good reason to launch full scale operations against him or is he full off hot air as usual. The spectre of Lockerbie looms large in the Anglo American Conciousness

Like at least one other poster on this board I have been sent a copy of HoG with pages 9-24 absent and pages 1-8 and 25-32 duplicated.

Please arrange a replacement to be sent with my next order.

Last WW I veteran.

Last witness of the scuttling of the High seas Fleet.

So who's signed up for this

Tickets paid for and hotel booked.

I'll be playing 4 PFS sessions over the weekend which should take Andrina to 7th level.

Well I know this probably means nothing to 99% of people here but I for one have been in a stated of elated shock since yesterday afternoon.

Let us utter a Klingon death cry for Captain Koloth who passed away on the 28th of April.

I was checking my downloads today and found the following missing from the list.

Adventure paths 15-18 and 45-48.

Is there any reason why these have vanished from my listings?

VC winner Tul Bahadur Pun aged 88..his citation reads

War Office, 9th November, 1944
The KING has been graciously pleased to approve the award of the VICTORIA CROSS to:-

No. 10119 Rifleman Tulbahadur [sic] Pun, 6th Gurkha Rifles, Indian Army.

In Burma on 23 June 1944, a Battalion of the 6th Gurkha Rifles was ordered to attack the Railway Bridge at Mogaung. Immediately the attack developed the enemy opened concentrated and sustained cross fire at close range from a position known as the Red House and from a strong bunker position two hundred yards to the left of it.

So intense was this cross fire that both the leading platoons of 'B' Company, one of which was Rifleman Tulbahadur Pun's, were pinned to the ground and the whole of his Section was wiped out with the exception of himself, the Section commander and one other man. The Section commander immediately led the remaining two men in a charge on the Red House but was at once badly wounded. Rifleman Tulbahadur (sic) Pun and his remaining companion continued the charge, but the latter too was immediately wounded.

Rifleman Tulbahadur Pun then seized the Bren Gun, and firing from the hip as he went, continued the charge on this heavily bunkered position alone, in the face of the most shattering concentration of automatic fire, directed straight at him. With the dawn coming up behind him, he presented a perfect target to the Japanese. He had to move for thirty yards over open ground, ankle deep in mud, through shell holes and over fallen trees.

Despite these overwhelming odds, he reached the Red House and closed with the Japanese occupants. He killed three and put five more to flight and captured two light machine guns and much ammunition. He then gave accurate supporting fire from the bunker to the remainder of his platoon which enabled them to reach their objective.

His outstanding courage and superb gallantry in the face of odds which meant almost certain death were most inspiring to all ranks and beyond praise.

RIP

I was so impressed after 4 days of F2P that I subscribed.A week on and I'm 27th level and finding even the grind is enjoyable.

Anyway if anyone else is playing I'm migrating my Character to the Withywindle server in the next few days "Wellad Axesmith" is his name and surprise surprise he's a dwarf.

So who have we got lined up for this.

Any chance of some Ryan Dancey input. After all he was the man behind Rokugan.

Boy gone to join Tarzan , Jane and Cheeta in great jungle in the sky.

The retreat from the strange Palace and the failure to complete the task, which had been in the end carried out by the Rangers of Tarsh acting on the Information the party had provided, had cast a pall over the Fortress. Avinar had gained some information regarding his fathers whereabouts and taken Gashelle with him on a trip southwards. Holgur had returned to the sea his new found skills and riches allowing him to fit out his own ship and he had returned to the north to avenge himself on the ones who had betrayed him.

Eltariel, Aude and Layjiani set off for the city determined to recruit new companions to help defend the Fortress.

I'm looking for 3 possibly 4 players for my Wilderlands/DCC campaign.

25 point buy advanced to 6th level, standard PC gold and core or APG class acceptable..we already have a Ranger/ scout, a druid/wizard and possibly a cleric in the party...so what we need is front line muscle and a skill monkey to be honest.

Continued from here

Looks like Merisiel got deposed and Amiri is ruling the roost as is only proper

Welcome to the AP thread continuing from the prologue. Please do not post here in character until you are called for by a spoiler post. You may off course dot the thread

Note to self

Spoiler:
Joao,Brugga,Tranz,Gareth,N'goka,Tariro

...or are we not getting one this time around?

Shouldn't that be High Priestess

We open in Blood Cove..a more wretched hive of scum and villainy you will not find anywhere in the Mwangi Expanse

N'goka of Okeno

Spoiler:
The journey back to Mwangi has been hard..indeed had iot not been for your faithful Comanion you might have perished any number off times..now, however, you know where your destiny is leading you and you have returned to the South from the Exotic Lands of Avistan.

The Ship Jenever, out of Cassomir, has been your home for the past few weeks. Though at first there were mutterings amongst the crew about the 'Mwangi Witch and her Devil Lizard'compounded by the fact that your Raptor ate the ship's cat on the first day out they have come to accept you..your abilitiy to read the winds and sense the weather has been of great use and the passage to Bloodcove has been faster than usual. Add to that the fact that your Companion has shown itself to be a useful gaurdian against rats and your life aboard has been easier since you left the Iner Sea.Now berthed in Bloodcove awaiting cargo and passengers for Sargava the ship's crew are uneasy about heading into what for them are unknown waters. One thing that you don't like about the ship is the fact that they keep a young man chained up in the hold unless he is on duty on deck..this 1/2 orc bastard as the crew always refer to him is called Garth...Gurth..something like thatthough you have had only fleeting moments in which to slip him extra food and water as you pass by.

Tariro

Spoiler:
Why you were drawn to Bloodcove you do not know but something has pulled you towards the town of the pale outlanders. Some here have tried to enslave you but with Dotars timely warnings you have so far managed to evade the slavers chains. How long this run off luck can keep up is however debateable and you have been seeking a way to leave town. You have heard that a ship..one of those strange floating houses the Palefolk use, called the Jenever is leaving soon for the South..perhaps it might be your way out off this cesspit

Joao Marcos

Spoiler:
The calling has led you here..to this vile sink of humanity called Bloodcove yet whilst many here do indeed deserve judgement the place is not ready yet for such. You feel that the calling is not to be served here but further south, perhaps, in Sargava.Currently you lodge at an Inn called the Witchlight but you have heard that a Taldane Merchant ship 'The Jenever' is sailing south soon. Perhaps you should seek passage upon it

Brugga of Slothjaw

Spoiler:
Another hot humid sticky day in the Southlands..Vix lies in the shade of the Inn's verandah his tounge lolling out as you slap at yet another annoying insect. The ship from Magnimar dropped you here some days ago and your funds whilst adequate for now are slowly being depleted..this Inn the 'Witchlight' is not particularly expensive but the local seem to take a delight in trying to charm your mnoney from you..luckily your intelligence makes up for your lake of prudence and you have managed to remain solvent. You feel however that you need to go somewhere new soon..maybe that ship you heard off the 'Jenever' is the solution to getting away from Bloodcove which frankly leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Perhaps in Sargava you can find an answer to the questions that have been nagging you

Tranz Strurgoth

Spoiler:
Bloodcove’s Pathfinder lodge sits at the end of a narrow pedestrian street known as the Drop-Off. The relatively small building affords a good view of the harbor and holds an office and two bunks. Malika Fenn
a Bonuwat Pathfinder venturecaptain, lives in and maintains the lodge, investigating interesting rumors passed along by those aboard the ships
stopping in Bloodcove. She follows up on some rumors herself and imparts the others to Pathfinders traveling through the area..and you are the latest visitor to her domain. She informs you off rumours of a great treasure hidden far to the south in Sargava and tells you that a Taldane ship'The Jenever ' will be setting sail soon for that distant colony

Gareth Marcavius

Spoiler:
You made it to the coast safely unfortunately after that your luck seemed to go from bad to worse.Finding that most people were as predjudiced as your villagers against your kind you promptly got into a series of tavern brawls that resulted in your arrest and imprisonment. The jailor then sold you to the captain of this Taldane merchantman the'Jenever' who was short off crew. Since then you have been allowed on deck only when you are on duty and when below you have been chained to the bulkhead..the only person who has shown you any kindness has been a tall slim darkskinned woman who seemed to be regarded with some fear by the other crewmen(perhaps because off the large and viscious lizard she keeps as a pet)..her name is not easy on your tounge but you think it is Enghoqa though you have not been afforded the opportunity to speak with her for long she has provided you with extra food and water. You know the ship is in port someplace called Bloodcove and will be heading further south soon. You also know that the Captain has your gear stowed in a chest in the hold you are chained up in"

Mwangi..Land of Danger

Mwangi..Land of Adventure

Mwangi..Land of Mystery.

Join us as we go where the hand off Man has never set foot.

Welcome one and all..I'll be doing some preamble in this thread so your characters can meet and begin to interact before we actually start the meat of the AP itself. In addition it gives us something to latch onto while we wait fro the AP itself

Any questions will be answered to the best of my ability and as quickly as I can discover the answer. Please try and keep the OOC in the game threads to a minimum to prevent post bloat and confusion
