Did the sword-wielding hobgoblin or the mage have anything on them?
The mage had a set of bracers, 3 daggers, and a staff.. The sword wielder had a longsword, steel shield, longbow with 20 arrows, and chainmail. You each get 600 xp from the encounter.

Taking the code cylinder back to the ship, you are able to access what appears to be Yoda's journal. It lists several worlds where Jedi went into hiding, including Tatooine, Mandalore, Haruun Kal, and even Courascant.
Uathach gets the sense that Clegg is most definately evil. However, It does not seem to anyone that he is activly up to no good. In fact to Raoh, it appears that he might intentionally be losing.
Alright, let's move on, unless anyone has any more questions fr the Cyphermage.
Night falls and the Gold Goblin is bustling with crowds. The no weapons policy hasn't been an issue, if anything there are more people here as a result. A few hours into the night, Saul calls you up to the catwalk. "See that man there?" he says, pointing to a large man with short brown hair. The rest of the patrons are giving him a wide berth. "That's Clegg Zincher, our biggest rival. I want you to keep an eye on him and see if you can figure out what he's doing here."
I don't know how well I'll be able to get on-line and involved for awhile. I've been having problems with my internet connectivity, and the touchpad on my laptop has stopped working about half the time, so even when I can get on-line it's hit or miss on whether I can actually do anything. Sorry.

Behind a lamp embedded in one wall, Veeta does find a hidden compartment with a code cylander inside.

Use the Force to see if there are other Force-users nearby: 7 + 10 = 17.
You only find a faint echo of Yoda in the Force. He is obviously no longer here. However, you also sense a powerful manifestation of the Dark Side.
The place is teeming with life which makes everyone a little jumpy, but no stormtroopers, or other enemies seem to be prowling around. After about two hours you reach the site that Artoo indicated. The place seems oddly sparse for a Jedi Master's home. The house consists of a simple hut, with no power or anything like it.
Pavel wrote: "Ah, blood and ashes. Guess we can rule out a simple shake-down then."
I'll head to the comatose hobgoblin and check him out, look for identifying marks or unusual equipment.

The hobgoblin has a black tattoo of a sunrise on his back. He is wearing half-plate and carrying a spiked chain.
The rats continue to scurry toward the battle.

"I wish I could tell you that," Argentus says. "Unfortunately I have not been able to discerne the spell or it's source. For all I know it could be something tied to our own attempts to use magic to discover the secrets of the Cypher Gate."
Gal succeeds in chasing down the last hobgoblin and ripping his throat out. Kelindra's healing is enough to rouse Branamonrik back into conciousness. The moment that you ask the captured hobgoblin the name of his lord, his eyes roll back in his head and he falls to the ground. He is still brething, but it seems like all higher brain functions have shut down.

She speaks rapidly, getting worked up, and moves towards the man as she does. "Who's behind it? What's going on? Lots of strange things've been happening, and I'm getting fed up!" She seems to be losing it, and has really gotten in the man's personal space by the end of this rant.
Intimidate = 1d20+5 = 22
She's not consciously trying to intimidate the man, but she's irritable this morning and doesn't like the stuffiness of the lodge, so she's edgy and unpleasant. ;)
"The Blot seems to be a magical side effect of another spell. Some sort of convergence of magical focus. I have used magic to examine it up close, and despite an unnatural coldness in the interior, it appears to be no more dangerous then an ordinary cloud. It does seem to grow and shrink in connection with the tides however," Blakely says.
The door opens again and in walks a middle aged man with balding red hair. "I am Argentus Blakely," he says. "I understand you have questions about the Blot."

Using a skill takes a swift action.
V9 takes another shot at the approaching TIEs. Even though the shot misses, it is enough to persuade the TIEs to break off pursuit. As the Blood Eagle breaks through the cloud cover, you see nothing but swamp and jungle passing below you.
Gal brutally strikes at the chainwelder, and leaves a bloody gash along his flank. Meanwhile, Gin and Pavel both inflict grave wounds on the brutish spellcaster. The spellcaster steps back from the two warriors and then turns to flee into the darkness. The chainwielding brute drops his weapon and bows his head. "I am wounded to the point of death. Do me the kindness of making my death quick."
As Logan rolls to his feet, a strange creature drops from the ceiling, resembling a gargoyle but without the stony skin. It slashes at Logan with it's claw and rips a bloody gash across his cheek. Logan takes 6 regular damage and 4 necrotic damage

The rest of the gang
The trip to the Cypher Lodge is convoluted and long, since it sits on the other side of the river from the Gold Goblin and Riddleport has no bridges. However, after about an hour and a half, you stand in the shadow of the Cyphergate. Knocking on the great doors elicites a prompt response, and the door is opened by a middleaged woman with glasses, wearing a green and gold gown. "May I help you," she says.

Both Soll and Pavel's strikes are just a tad off and fall short of the mark. The brutish spellcaster takes a step back and flicks a pair of shining magic arrows at Gin. 1d4+1=5, 1d4+1=2 damage. The armored chain weilder swing at Branamonrick and impacts soundly 1d20+9=26 and inflicts a brutal injury. 2d8+1=11
Sorry this took so long. A road crew cut the trunk line for my neighborhood and I have been without internet or phone service for the last few days. MY DSL is still being wonky so it has taken awhile to get caught up with everything.

You can make out most of the features of the room, although the back wall is shrouded in shadows. The area between the columns and the walls are also obscured. You have an idea where the rats are because you saw them run into that area. Sunrods are also affected by the magical aura.

The half-elf ponders for a moment and then asks Saul "What do you think needs doing that we can't?" "Agreed," Saul says. "Perhaps just a few of you should interview her." Any volunteers?"
