Dave - I'm really enjoying the game, however will be unable to post for a week or so. My wife and I are going on holiday and I only just found out that the place we're staying is so remote it has no internet (not even dialup). Please DMPC Caladan for me - I'll be back on Sunday the 1st of March. Cheers.

Not a problem.

Gin's attack brutally impacts the brutish spellcaster. However, no one seems able to land a glove on the warrior. Even Branomonrik fails to connect with his staff.

Visas blows another TIE Fighter out of the sky. Unfortunately Virginity 9's guns jam and Veeta's aim is thrown off by the tricky manuever Villian pulled off. More laser blasts flash past the Blood Eagle but the complicated series of moves manage to keep them from hitting the ship.

Yrenn determines that something in the room is aspected toward darkness, which is limiting the effect of her spell.

Map

After just a few minutes, the strange effect stops and the weather vanes return to normal. When you arrive at the Gold Goblin, Saul asks you if you would mind interviewing a prospective new employee today.

Something about this chamber supresses Yrenn's attempts to illuminate the situation. While the magic light appears in the center of the room, it appears weak and doesn't illuminate as well as it should. You do catch a glimpse of saome rats scurrying along the walls though.

Soll's wild swing does not make contact with the brute, but Pavel's mighty swing smashes through the other one's defenses and knocks him to the ground, where he lays unmoving. Seeing his friend fall and Branomorik's spell seems to drive the other brute into a frenzy, and he rushes past Gal and Soll to attack Branomonrik. He slashes at the mage with his chain, but somehow misses the mark. Soll and Gal get AoO's on the guy. The last bruiser still hangs back and macks somemore gestures as if casting a spell.

Night passes and the morning is greeted by more strange activity. With the grating shreak of metal, every weather vane in town turns and points towards the Blot. Some of them are clearly turning despite the wind and a few of the closest ones actually snap as they try and point straight up.

Veeta Senn wrote:
Not sure how Dance's maneuver affects our ability to fire ... but if we still can I'll start lining up a shot at one of the remaining Tie fighters if it's still following us.

Nothing in Starships of the Galaxy says anything about the manuever affecting targeting.

Ba'az dons the armor and Elmo takes up the sword. Nothing eles of any value is discovered in the room, so you decide to move on. The tunnel leads on and soon you find yourself in what must have once been a chapel of some sort. A row of large pillars line each side of the room and an alter sits at the northern edge. Two braziers flicker with strange black flames as shadows dance around the room. Every so often you feel like you see something, but you can never quite get a good look at it.

Branomonrik rushes forward a few feet and casts a spell, and suddenly a strange black ray lept across the empty space and struck the shaggy humanoid. Suddenly the creatures strength seems to ebb and he weakens visibly.

Vissas finds his mark as the TIE fighter blossoms into flames. Virginity 9 also hits home. 1d20+4=15 Sparks fly from the TIE she hit, but it still mantains pursuit. Veeta misses, but the TIEs do drop back some after her shot. The TIE fighters open fire, two of them hiting the mark. The Blood Eagle's shields hold for the moment, but Major Dance grimly notes that another hit like that will bring them down.

"The cyphermages are an order of wizards who are studying the Cyphergate," Saul says as he gestures toward the Massive arch that spans the harbor. "No one knows who created it, or why. That's what the cyphermages hope to discover someday."

Veeta Senn wrote:

Just realized all four of our group members are V-names. Weird.

Veeta drops into the seat next to Dance and starts scanning the controls.
"Let me know what I can do, Major."

Not sure what the field of fire is for the missile launchers. If I'd be able to target the Marauder or any of the fighters (what do they look like, btw? Imperials or pirates?) I'll ready an action to fire a pair of missiles at the first craft to approach within range.
Otherwise, I'll ready an action to use Aid Another to help Dance with his next Pilot check.

The ships are clearly Imperial.

Gal wasn't affected by Kelindra's healing?

Nope, the range is 30 feet and Gal is 35 feet away from Kelindra.

"Nay, I cannot say that I have heard anything reliable about it," Saul says. "Even the Cyphermages have not been able to divine it's nature or purpose. However, the lord mayor has offered a substantial reward if someone were to discover it's secrets."

The night wears on and nothing else requiring your attention occurs. Before you realize it, the time has come to close the Gold Goblin for the night. In just a short time, the only people left are you and the cleaning staff.

The enemy with the spiked chain lashes at at Soll with it, and whips it across his chest. 1d20+9=21, 2d4+5=9 damage Meanwhile the other warrior swings his sword at Pavel and lands another solid blow. As he does a burst of electricity leaps from the blade to Pavel. 1d20+7=22, 1d8+2d6=10 damage. The last humanoid remains in the background. As he weaves a pattern in the air, two brightly glowing arrows appear and slam directly into Branamonrick. 1d4+1=5, 1d4+1=3 damage

The sword is a +1 Inspiring sword and the armor is a suit of +1 Armor of Exploits

Under the dust Yrenn discovers a suit of armor inscribed with magical runes and a sword that gleams with a soft blue light. Meanwhile the second alcove is more resistant to Ba'az's attempts to open it.

It looks like there might be.

On the type of ship you are flying, the co-pilot can take an Aid Another action and also is in control of the conncussion missile launcher.

Ba'az takes the proffered crowbar, and sticks it into the almost imperceptible space. With a few loud grunts he manages to pry the covers off the alcoves. Each one seems to have been used as a burial place for someone, or something, but the bodies have been mostly reduced to dust by now.

I hope Uber doesn't mind my RPing Ba'az for him.

The days pass quickly and soon you are almost to Dagobah. I goofed on my math and it will only take you a little over two days to get there rather then the five I had originally thought. As the ship drops out of hypserspace, alarms sound throughout the cockpit. Directly ahead, you can see a Marauder cruiser, and it's fighter escort. Four of the fighters peel off and are flying directly toward you.

Roll initiative.

When you mention leaving to eat dinner, Saul gives you a quizzical look. "Why do that when the Gold Goblin has one of the finest eateries in Riddleport, and it's on the house too?"

Sorry, it appears I forgot to mention that there is a resturant on-site. The Goblin's Tankard serves food, and there is are three private dining room that are more high class and can be rented out by groups.

The brutish humanoid winces with pain as Soll breaks through his defenses and slashes a long red gash in the beastman's arm.

The Blood Eagle is actually quite spacious inside. It was designed with a much larger contengent in mind, and as a result you each end up with your own quarters. Takeoff goes smoothly and you easily navigate through the space traffic around Nar Shadda. As soon as you are able, Major Dance launches the ship into hyperspace.

Kelindra easily hits the humanoid since it's attention is focused on Pavel. H2 is currently flanked.

The sailors leave, not pleased with the outcome, but aware that they can't change it. As they leave, one of the greeters comes up and tells you Saul would like you to meet him at the center podium. Other staff goes around a conveys the same message to the rest of the group. Once everyone is together, Saul jumps up on the podium. "Ladies and gentlemen. I would like to introduce you to my new partners, the heroes of Riddleport," He says. "I am also announcing that starting tomorrow, the Gold Goblin is enforcing a strict 'no weapon' policy. Tonight, enjoy yourselves and forget your troubles, drinks are on the house." Leaning over, Saul whispers to you, "Of course the no weapons policy doesn't apply to employees and staff."

Yrenn ntices that severel section of the wall seem designed to be removed. While they are not large enough to be a door, they could hide secret alcoves.

Other then the passage leading to the east at the south side of the room, Elmo doesn't find much of interest, except that all of the zombies had the same goat headed man medallion as the man who was helping the goblins.

Anyone else searching the room should roll perception checks.

Bowing politely back, Elmo beams toothily. "Your courtesy does you credit madam. Your orbs are things of might and your interention timely."

Short rest? Elmo is quite close to bloodied, and wouldn't mind using a couple of healing surges.

I agree that you all deserve a rest. I know Ba'az is bloodied, so I'm sure he would appreciate the time to heal up.

As Roah talks to Saul, the man frowns. "Cash them out at half value," he says. "I don't want people thinking they can extort us at sword point, but I'd like this situation to go away as well."

Just as Elmo is about to act, Yrenn's Magic Missile blasts the last zombie into oblivion.

You are out of combat. 100 xp per person.

Between Jake's earlier attack and Ba'az's current strike, the zombie looks extremely bad. Much of it's flesh has withered from the holy light of the attacks and it is nearly more bone now then flesh.

Two of the attackers rush forward, and for the first time you can clearly see they are hobgoblins. However, they are extremely well equipped hobgoblins. One waves a spiked chain as he rushes forward and swings it at Gal. The strike is true 1d20+1=17 and rakes across the druid's flesh. 2d4+5=8. The other, armed with a sword and a shield, attacks Pavel. The strike is true, but glances off the ranger's armor. The third holds back, apparently casting a spell.

Yes, Pavel's shouts were enough to wake everyone up.
