oh? they came out with a new version? i was thinking about the 3.0 version that WOTC came out with. thats the one that i have...getting my hands on the rest of the stuff later tomorrow...

i was thinking of setting the campaign roughly book 10 or so, no taint on the source, the calm before the storm kind of thing...

wheel of time rpg, has anyone played it before?

ok, got the first thread going in the official story line.

just read the post and reply and itll show me whos still ready to rock and whos not. please dont feel rushed to have to do this, i can work in new characters.

here we go!

the day starts poorly. its raining. the kind of rain that just barely drizzles, but it clings to everything, any clothing quickly gets soaked, any exposed metals start to show the beginings of corrosion and rust.
you have been traveling with as much stealth as possible for a person in your shoes. you have avoided all population centers, moving at night and acting like a ghost.
the set of coordinates you were giving in a brief transmission are just in this valley.
scooping out the scene, you see a large SAMAS robot standing guard over a small white tent, with a single coalition trooper at the front holding a large weapon.
you think back on your instructions
go to the coordinates attached to this message. there you will meet up with your counterpoint and will be given the chance of a lifetime to garner fame, fortune, and advance your status in chi-town.

just a heads up. ill be out of the loop from friday night till sunday night. doing a family vacation and computers are not allowed(wifes rule!). so tomorrow before i leave, ill write up a brief thing telling about what lorayne would do in certain situations and stuff like that...

second, as i said before, just occ/rcc straight from the original rifts book, havent had a chance to buy the new ultimate rifts book (although i plan to buy it on the first of july with the pay check)

so, that said
3d6 for stats.
level 1 for all characters.

when you have made your character, please make up an alias and name it your characters name, posting the stats under the alias profile page. be sure to include a character background, and have 3 goals your character wishes to accomplish. once its ready for final review, please make a post with the character on this page

well use the website invisible castle for all neccessary rolls once the game starts.

Go ahead and adjust it, just try and have it taken care of before the details of the run are established so there isn't an advantage from it.

the adventure would start in shadowrun, then parts of the campaign would have to be played in the VR world of Pathfinder, where you would build a sep character for, and switch betw both worlds to accomplish missions/campaigns.

heres the setting.

characters start in the realm of shadowrun. during the gameplay they go into a new VR game produced by a corporation like WOTC and make characters using the pathfinder rules. think of how big WOW is right now, and imagine a player being able to fully imerse themselvs in the RP world.

...and thats just to start...

What I roll up depends on the group. If we are going to be a Coalition party, I'm thinking of rolling up a SAMAS pilot. Otherwise I'll be playing a mercenary RPA pilot who operates a Samson PA.

dammit...well ill check out FFG website tomorrow and download what i can...

im not saying anything about who you should choose. i think that when you RP, it should be RPing with what you got & like to play, not what you think youll encounter or "what the party needs".
so go with what you want to play...

crap... just read the other post site. david fryer brought up a good point. you kinda need to decide wether to be other or coalition at the start.

so be the juicer. itll work better with the story arc...

alright, heres the low down for the rifts campaign.

yes it is pbp.
for right now, lets keep it simple and take stuff you find from the rifts campaign book. so if its listed in there, your golden.
BLUF: while i have lots of years being a GM, this is my first time doing a campaign as PBP, and it will be my first time being a GM for rifts, so just bear with me.

as the campaign continues and i gain exp working with this system, ill open it up to new OCC/RCC's from other world books. but agian, for now, just the rifts book.

so, with that being said. lets get the ball rolling on developing some characters and have some serious fun with this!!!

ok, i ditched the idea of the jack of all trades elf. just couldnt see myself playing it. so i decided to go back in my personal listing of old runners and brushed the dust off of "SKULLCRUSHA". hes an ork that is an expert in demolitions and shotguns. he believes that the louder the bang, the more fun there is to be had with it. right now, hes in is mid 40s, having retired from the scene when he was 28 due to recieving a large amount of nuyen. now, hes 42, broke, sold all his gear, and his chance at having a quiet life went away when his wife upped and dissapeared with his two kids with no word. all of his old contacts cannot come up with an answer pointing to where they went off to, or if they were kidnapped (skullcrusha made alot of enemies in his past). So now hes bringn himself out of retirement and is following every lead to find his missing family...

...and woe be onto the person, people, or organization that snatched his kids...

Looking to start up a play by post shadowrun game here. It is a Massive Adventure idea that ive come up with, involving not only the shadowrun system, but also Pathfinder(or warhammer FRPG) and Rifts. I need 4-6 players with great imaginations and a willingness to try out a unique point of view adventure.

synopsis of adventure start:
"the past week in seattle it has been pouring rain; the saying 'its raining cats and dogs' doesnt even come close to how the rain is coming down. but, despite the weather, you have a massive craving for some junk food. you scrounge the cupboards, seeing foods that either dont hit the craving or look like they should've been submitted for scientific research weeks ago. grumbling to yourself, you throw on your handy rain-coat, debate whether it feasable to wear a hat and as you close the door you snatch up your trusty weapon, concealing it upon your person.
the walk to the local stuffer shack is miserable. the handy rain jacket has holes in it. you know you shouldve worn a hat, and your mothers voice rings through yoru head 'shouldve taken your umbrella!'.
walking into the shack, your gaze falls upon others with the same idea, wandering the aisles aimlessly, their faces plastered with the look hopeless desire as they gaze upon their fix."

ok, so WOTC gave us 3rd edition, which is a great system...but come on, THAC0, while it had its issues, it was still a great system by itself. i remember countless weekends in the dead of winter with my friends as we struggle with the math to play some D&D.

so far, ive been turned off with 4th edition. i bought the 3 book set when it came out from paizo (thanks for the discount!!), and when i got it, i eagerly paged through and started to read the PHB. needless to say, i stopped cuz it reminds me too much of a MMORPG, like WOW... if i wanted to play a game that resembles an online rpg, ill go online and pay my online subscription to play wow, or AOC, or the future WAR!.

so, ill be putting my money into other RPG settings, like the new pathfinder series, palladium, rifts, shadowrun, maybe even mage and vampire (if i can understand the storytelling process).
