Fires of Karamass! Assault on the Wound

Welcome all. I would like everyone to respond with this post and then respond to the next post. That way all of these things show up on the first page and will be easy for me to find.

Then I need a handful of things from y'all.
Real Name (Paizo avatar is OK), PFS Number, Faction (which will show up if you have it set on your Avatar.)
Please put perception and AC plus anything else I might have to look up frequently into the sex/race slots of the character's profile (see Seaweed for an example). If you have a T-shirt or folio free reroll please say so and where you are most likely to use it (example: "Reflex save when d20 is below 10"). This is only because PbP means a lot of quiet time between a roll and a response compared to a table-top game. I want to keep the game moving, but do not want to push through someone's choices.

In order to keep things moving I may occasionally take an action for your character. Define your characters default attack option. Then also make an attack of opportunity for me. I would rather not wait two days to complete a single action.

If you are OK with me making the Perception and initiative checks I will. If not, give me three of each & I will use them in the order you rolled them as needed.

This should be set up for a reply to make it easier for you (deleting everything above). Make sure to add the appropriate modifier and the final closed bracket (])to the die rolls.

Fires of Karamass! Assault on the Wound

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 5–9.

A Pathfinder expedition has uncovered hitherto unknown levels in the Red Redoubt, a millennium-old siege fortress created by the machine-mage Karamoss. A source of Numerian technology in its own backyard piques the Society’s interest, yet informants in the redoubt speak of an aggressive contingent deep below that aims to reactivate Karamoss’s powerful forges. Can the PCs salvage the fortress’s treasure while also preventing a catastrophe that could crush Absalom?

Sorry no recruitment (The members have been pre-selected from a home group.)

Fires of Karamass! Assault on the Wound

Please introduce yourselves to each other and me. What we see and who you are for example.

A blast of cold wind—the biting chill of the Realm of the Mammoth Lords— rushes into the tent, ruffling scattered papers but not Marcos Farabellus. The Pathfinder Society’s Master of Swords stares intently at a map of the western Worldwound, eyeing wooden playing pieces placed at strategic locations.

“Quite a party we’ve started up here. Did you know they’re calling all this ruckus the Army of the Open Road?” Farabellus asks, never raising his eyes from the map laid out before him. “Well, now it looks like this army is finally ready to move on Jormurdun, the lost Sky Citadel of the dwarves.” He motions to a spot at the far end of the map.

“In case you hadn’t heard, I’ve been appointed warmaster of this growing army of ours. The Decemvirate has politely asked me to knock on Jormurdun’s door and see who answers. The problem is, the walk there is going to take weeks and we know there’re some unwelcome residents already in the region.”

Farabellus points to a group of crimson-stained wooden tokens at the north-western edge of the Worldwound that stand opposed to the tokens of the Society’s forces. “It looks like the Society’s latest adversaries, that deceitful cur Tancred Desimire and the two-faced former Venture-Captain Thurl, have assembled an expedition of their own—and positioned it right in our path.”

Slamming his fist down in a sudden movement that cracks the table, Farabellus sends wooden pieces flying about the tent’s interior. “I’m done with these two meddlers. The demonologist and the traitor are to be brought to justice. But first, we must reach Jormurdun before they do. To that end, I need your assistance in rallying our armies and getting us to the entrance of the Sky Citadel. All our senior agents are out in the field tracking Tancred and Thurl, so I’m promoting you to act as field commanders for the battles ahead. Our allies are waiting to meet with us. Any questions?”

**

The Pathfinder Society embarks on its expedition to the lost Sky Citadel Jormurdun with a small army of allies in tow, but they are not the only ones seeking the dwarven fortress. Two of the Society’s nemeses have rallied the fiends of Frostmire to crush the Pathfinders, hoping to buy the villains enough time to secure Jormurdun first. If the campaign is to succeed, the Society’s forces will need bold leadership. Can the PCs lead their motley army to victory deep in the Worldwound?

Content in “Assault on the Wound” also contributes directly to the ongoing storylines of the Silver Crusade and Taldor factions.

Characters can benefit from numerous boons earned during other Season 5 scenarios, so players are advised to bring other earned Season 5 Chronicle sheets to the event—even if those Chronicle sheets are assigned to other characters.

Two recruits already, so 1-5 slots open. Daily posting is requested, though on Mondays I tend to only lurk. I hope to start this weekend.

...Previous Top 32 can you name?

Without peeking, spoiler a list of what you remember from years past.

After reading Jacob's blog I started thinking about 'superstar items,' I began trying to see how many Top 32 items struck me well enough to still be with me. Those of course are my favorites.

No peaking! Just list what you can remember. For an added challenge finish your list in 59 seconds. :) As a hint there are over 230 Top 32.

This is should be set up for a reply, but remember to add that last closed bracket.

PbP Gameday 3

PFS #4-16 Fabric of Reality
A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 5–9.

For the past year, the Pathfinder Society has used the isolated demiplane contained in the Hao Jin Tapestry as a private adventuring realm and, since discovering a backdoor out of the demiplane, as a shortcut from the tapestry's location to a hidden corner of Varisia. But the tapestry wasn't designed for this purpose, and travel from Absalom to Varisia could be more efficient. Now a team of Pathfinders must discover how the infamous sorcerer known as the Ruby Phoenix created her private demiplane and enter the heart of the tapestry and alter the very nature of the magical realm.

Players must commit to daily posts. This will happen over the holidays so I know there will be some periods of quiet. Likewise I am away from the 'puter one day a week (for sanity reasons), but in general want regular posts.

Preference will be given to folks who have less access to other cons. Please let me know why this might be you. This is not a requirement, so if you are interested please post.

Players must not have played this scenario for credit and must have legal PFS characters seeking PFS credit. Pregen's are an option, but only if you do not have a character in tier. Remember you cannae play this character in any other game during the duration of this PbP.

Players should also list their character/s's levels.

I use google docs for map & chronicle, just FYI.

PbP Gameday 3

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 3–7.

The Pathfinders are sent to the Sanos Forest in central Varisia to assist an agent researching the fey who inhabit the remote wood. But like many seemingly routine tasks in a Pathfinder's adventuring career, the simple support mission quickly turns into an adventure the PCs aren't soon to forget—presuming they survive.

Fires of Karamass! Assault on the Wound

A new day dawns in the Osirian trade city of Eto only hours following the meeting with Grandmaster Torch. In exchange for a handful of services, he delivered several maps and sketches of landmarks that collectively point the way to the last known resting place of one or more sage jewels—enchanted gems capable of storing memories of Osirion’s past and reviving the Sapphire Sage Amenopheus’s order. “Those will take you where you want to go,” Torch declared while handing over the maps. “Deviate from the path if you know what you’re doing.” As an afterthought, he added, “You’re not the only ones who know about that site. I hear a group of foreigners set out from Totra not too long ago and are after the same prize. Sounds like there’s no time to waste.”

**

I have a quick question. When a player starts a PbP with a playtest character, and the PbP will finish after the official book is out, how should I handle character updates?

Make the change before the chronicle is assigned?
Make the change as soon as the book comes out?
Since the book is close to release: wait to start the PbP until the book is out?
Some other option?

I didn't find this answered elsewhere, so if you have a link to an existing answer, please share.

Thanks!

Welcome seekers of the Emerald Crown!
Lottery says I have 17 of 16 slots filled. Which. Is. Awesome!

Sharpen those teeth, and stretch out those claws. Give us your loudest roar and get a sneak peek of your opponents!

I keep trying to update the rules, but keep getting waylaid (frakkin goblins!) Character creation will most closely resemble Bestiary Bash: Assassin with different skill sets. The arena will most closely resemble the HeartFountain.

The rules change a little each year but after 10+ years, and 3 game systems, I would have worked all the kinks out! :) I'll bring more details soon. Who's going to bring more monsters!?!

A man in simple linens meets you at the door and escorts you to a large room. "Welcome to the Sandswept Hall, the Pathfinder Lodge in Sothis. Venture-Captain Norden Balentiir will be with you shortly to brief you on the assigned task. Please make yourself comfortable and feel free to introduce yourself."

When I got my first reptiles I named my iguana after Ingeloakastamazilion, (or Icing Death) from the Crystal Shard. When my (then future-) mate got me a turtle I named it after Aremag from the Ring of Winter. I have named all my hatchlings after dragon's in the series of books.

My current pair of skinks recently had a baby. The species is threatened (a step away from endangered) so breeding them has been a huge goal of mine. (EDIT: no one really wants the difficult details in breeding skinks :p ) In short, I have the new generation of lizards, and wanted to explore the names of dragons in the new incarnation of the worlds most popular game.

There are quite a few on the gaming end of things, but I was hoping to get one from the fiction side. I know a handful of dragons exist in the tales, but I don't know if they have names? Can you help me out? What novels have named dragons? Which of the webfiction (I'm woefully behind) stories do? What are those names?

Thanks!

(yes I realize Aremag was probably named after the godzilla movie & yes though I am pronouncing it to the best of my recollection I probably spelled Ingeloakastamazilion incorrectly. :)

5-12: Destiny of the Sands—Part 1: A Bitter Bargain
Written by Scott Fernandez, RPG Superstar 2013 finalist.

This game is part of the Official Pathfinder Society PbP Game Day. For more information please visit: PbP Gameday.

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 1–5.

Amenopheus has learned that the legacy of the Jeweled Sages lies near the Osirian trade city of Eto, and the Pathfinder Society has pledged its support in the Sapphire Sage’s investigation of his ancient order; however the lead dried up—that was until a familiar information broker contacted Amenopheus offering an exchange of services. To assist an ally and unlock the secrets of Osirion’s past, the Society must deal with a deadly antagonist once more by sending the PCs to fulfill the bargain and collect its due. The only question is what price their foe will demand.

“A Bitter Bargain” is the first scenario in the three-part Destiny of the Sands campaign arc. It is followed by Pathfinder Society Scenario #5–15: Destiny of the Sands—Part 2: "Race to Seeker’s Folly" and Pathfinder Society Scenario #5–16: Destiny of the Sands—Part 3: "Sanctum of the Sages." All three chapters are intended to be played in order.

Content in “A Bitter Bargain” also contributes directly to the ongoing storylines of the Osirion, Qadira, and Sczarni factions.

Few societies have so vaunted a tradition of leading crusades as Taldor, yet the constant revisions to its history by scheming factions leaves the truth obscured by countless acts of political modifications. Even the lauded Kitharodian Academy’s texts are riddled with these changes, so when a secretive ally approaches the Pathfinder Society with information about a hidden archive that contains the unaltered histories, the Pathfinders plan a daring infiltration to recover the secrets of Taldor’s past victories so that Mendev might benefit from the discovery.

Content in "Library of the Lion" also contributes directly to the ongoing storylines of the Cheliax, Grand Lodge, and Taldor factions.

Congratulations Victoria!
I look forward to your completed adventure even if it is months away. It looks like Stephen's was just released & so there is a lot of RPGSS going on even though the contest is over, and the logo is gone.

Here is the next little bit. A tradition for the truly dedicated or addicted or even obsessed. We have a little over nine months until RPGSS 2015 so lets make them hot!

Nine Blazing months begins! :)

The goal here is to create a superstar items with a little help from some friendly critique. One a month is not too hard to practice, but making deadlines, BBC/Paizo formatting, and accepting critique rewriting can be.

some suggestions:

1) Pick a day and post a new item every month by that day. Do that from now until December & you will have 9 solid items to lead your submission.
2) Do a rewrite a week after that. This requires comments so please critique others.
3) Focus on formatting. It is the one part I feel even marginally qualified to comment on, and then only because of the practice.* Practice formatting so you can focus on mojo with your submission.
4) Do not post an actual submission. That will DQ it from the contest. :)
5) Do not limit yourself to wondrous items. Create another magic item, an archetype, a monster, a villain or any of the other rounds we have seen in RPGSS. Just follow the rules for that round.
6) Do re-read all of SKR's guidelines, previous Top 32, critique my item threads. Space them out over nine months and it will be easier as well.

Two of our regulars have proven me wrong, but this practice is not a guarantee to get into the Top 32. It will help us develop a solid entry when the time comes & it will help us be better prepared for quick turnarounds. At least that is one idea, the other is simply to have fun. 'Cause 'tis that as well :)

*:
That's not entirely true since starting last years Blazing 9 thread I have been published twice, maybe I am better qualified than I admit :)

Star Voter 2013, Dedicated Voter 2014, Marathon Voter 2015

Is there a reason no one has volunteered their votes for this round?
Anyone willing to share?

I am missing Clark's Abdulah impersonations so I am going to throw a few things out. Please join in there is a lot of great stuff here!

I still have a few more to read, but there have been NO BAD encounters! They are all good or week good so far. Thanks to the Top 16 for giving me so many good (yoinked) encounters. I'll get into specifics when someone starts the R3 exit poll :)

My number of 'favorites' have climbed recently thanks to John Compton. Most recently on the 'why a monster is here vs why a monster is here.' But all of his reviews have a huge insight that come up in these great little nuggets.

Crystal and Rob have been equally great & I have several new ways to approach my GMing. Next week when I GM I will be asking myself 'would Crystal approve' of this description. I KNOW Rob would not approve of my squigly lines and I HAVE to improve for the PC's experience. :)

I have more, but please tell me what awesome things you have seen and/or will remember.

Pathfinders have been assigned a mission that takes place on a long sea voyage. That voyage starts from Magnimar, City of Monuments. After a day off shopping, exploring, or just regaining their land legs the Pathfinders receive a missive to arrive at the Pathfinder Lodge at Heidmarch Manor the next morning.

This scenario takes place on a long sea voyage. There will not be any opportunity to make purchases along the way. Please take the time to make whatever purchases you want before we begin.

For nearly 10,000 years, the mysterious elves of the Mordant Spire have guarded the ruins of lost Azlant, protecting the remnants of their former enemy’s civilization from plundering by the humans of the Inner Sea. Since its founding, the Pathfinder Society has been at odds with these strange, masked stewards, ever denied full access to one of Golarion’s richest sources of historical relics, forgotten secrets, and unimaginable
wealth. Every few generations, however, the Decemvirate welcomes an envoy from the Mordant Spire to the Grand Lodge in Absalom to discuss a possible arrangement to allow them access to Azlant’s treasures.
Such a meeting has recently concluded & pathfinders are needed to escort the envoy home.

I have three players so only need two or three more. They are all 1st level so this will be the lower tier. I like to give preference to folks without a local game, so please include a ZIP code (or its equivalent :)

Welcome Austin!
Welcome Kate!

But since I can't in PFS I am wondering how to fake one.
Mostly I need help with the special abilities the RMA get like prayer attack, red mist, & summon mantis. I built a melee TWF for the signature blades and dinnae want to cherry pick multitudes of other classes. 'Tis fine if it is not an exact match, the character mimics the Red Mantis in his hunting of them.

I have a few ideas, but thought the generous crowd here would come up with something better. This is my GM Blob, I currently have up to sixth level to play with.

Thoughts?

**

Last week I finally leveled up to the point where I can apply my very first chronicle. Chronicle #33 was earned by running Sarkorian Prophecy for a handful of VOs at PaizoCon.

As my first chronicle I dinnae know how to apply it, and Hyrum & the VOs told me that I would have to choose a character and hope he dinnae die before reaching it. I didn't have a character yet so it went to -1.

That's right Hyrum. From PaizoCon 2010. (I'm in a small community & I have been slowly building PFS here)

Sadly I did die before getting to apply it. Stupid incubas! Why does walking into a trapped room to divest myself of gear sound like such a good idea when you say it? :(

First death for any of my PFS characters. Fortunately I had the prestige needed to bring him back. And fortunately put me into range for a pregen and finally to my first ever chronicle, 3 PaizoCons, 3 years, one month, 20 days after I earned it.

If you have similarly long delay in a chroncle being applied let me know about it. :)

Here's to YEARS of happy gaming :)

Fires of Karamass! Assault on the Wound

When the dwarf enters the halls of the Venture-Captain Adril Hestram’s wide looming face opens and he begins to speak. “The Blakros Museum is cursed. Some darkness has descended upon the place and those who enter are blasted with evil and left raving through its halls, more beast than men. The curator, Nigel Aldain, is an old associate of the Society, though he chose to leave our organization some years back after a
disagreement.”
A sheepish look crosses Hestram's face.

“Nigel has long denied the Society access to the Blakros Museum’s considerable collection of relics and scrolls, using his extensive contacts to nab several excellent finds right out from under us... he always had a nose for the hunt. Whatever is past between Nigel and the Society, he needs our help now.

"Perhaps if we can come to his aid, he may think on rejoining the Pathfinder Society, or at least offering to share his discoveries with us."

“Apparently the trouble at Blakros Museum began this morning, shortly after a wayward Pathfinder named Lugizar Trantos returned to Absalom after months spent in the Mwangi Expanse. Supposedly, instead of coming straight to the Lodge to report in, he went to Blakros, sold his finds to Nigel, and then disappeared with a hefty sum of gold. The few who
glimpsed Lugizar claimed he was much changed by his time in the Mwangi... gaunt, his eyes yellowed and unfocused, a strange rasping cough that seemed to wrack his now wasted frame. Whatever he brought back with him, we believe it is the cause of the Blakros Museum’s ills.

Root it out.”

"I would not have called you out this late in the evening if we had time to spare. Any questions while you pack? You can introduce yourselves on the way over. "

Lately, all of our games are run from the GMs device and the faction mission (FM) require passing his or her machine around. I even had one GM say 'oh, well I'll tell you what to roll when we get to that room' as he was running it cold and didn't have time to read (usually they do this while everyone is reading their faction missions).

Since most of the players have their own device I was wondering if a site has been (or could be) created listing all the FM of the scenerios sorted by particular factions. For those areas who muster ahead of time, the players could even look up their FM for the scenerio before they got to the game table (a huge boon to the time-crunched con-sessions IMHO). It would also save a bit on paper mess (post game) and printing costs.

Does this exist already and if so can someone share a link? I did a search and found nothing.

If not:
Does OGL permit putting faction missions in a place where anyone can see them?
Is their enough interest to create a site (or is it just me)?
What about a PDF or document of just FM by season/faction if necessary?
Would being able to read a FM ahead of time be too much of a spoiler?
Do the 'more open' FM of season 4 make this pointless?

Official PFS scenerio for sub-tier 1-2 and I have 4 people already. I have room for 3 more. My preference will go to people who don't have a local PFS game they can attend so please include your ZIP code in case I have to choose from too many wonderful players.

Pathfinder Lugizar Trantos recently returned from the Mwangi Expanse with haunted eyes and a pack full of strange idols. Absalom's famed Blakros Museum purchased his pieces and Lugizar vanished. The strange monkey idols he pulled from the misty jungles of Mwangi carry with them a fell curse, and now their power has laid claim to the museum. Can the Pathfinder Society uncover the source of the curse in time, or will the Blackros Museum be forever lost to the mists of Mwangi?

Congratulations Steven! You had me from the Quicksand cloak. Actually as the only person to comment on my item in the very first 'critique my item' thread you have been on my watch list for a lot longer. :) Way to go! This was a great run.

It looks like the logo is going to stick around longer than in previous years and people keep asking me when the Blazing 9 will start sooo....

Actually it should be eight months, but tradition is tradition so I am keeping the name. :)(year four of the thread counts as a tradition right? :)

some suggestions:

1) Pick a day and post a new item every month by that day. Do that from now until December & you will have 7 or 8 items (double down once to make it nine. :)
2) Do a rewrite a week or two after that. This requires comments so please critique others.
3) Focus on formatting. It is the one part I feel even marginally qualified to comment on, and then only because of the practice. Practice formatting so you can focus on mojo with your submission.
4) Do not put an actual submission up. That will DQ it from the contest. :) But because it is not an actual item feel free to craft non-wondrous items.

I've said it before: this practice will not help you get into the Top 32. But if we focus on formatting, deadlines, accepting critique, and rewriting it will help us get a solid entry. It will help us be better prepared for quick turnarounds. At least that is the idea, unless you are just here for fun. 'Cause 'tis that as well :)

You can start with a rewrite of your entry after you got some feedback. :)

I have been dumping all my GM credits into one, as yet not-created, character. I thought it would be fun to play with the saw-tooth sabres of the Red Mantises and then got a RM mini. So I decided the background of the character is that he saw many people-family and friends-die by the hands of these assassins and has sworn a vendetta against them. To that end I want his chronicle sheets be from those scenerios where PFS met/dealt with the Red Mantises.

My question is how many of these are there, and which ones are they. Again I will be running these not playing (at least not until 6th level or so :) dinnae worry about spoilers.

EDIT: Ooh look, a star!

OK time to get this started. Please give me your character and level. If you are new to PBP I only ask three things, learn how to use [out of character] so we can ask lots of questions and discuss the encounter, learn how to use [dice], and post daily (or more :). As a play test let's focus on the ROLL vs the ROLE and maybe we can get more than one in.

This is a recruitment thread to see if anyone else is willing (I know the guildhall has a one going) & interested.

Sign here if you are willing to GM an (& which one) encounter.

If you are willing to play in one of them, post here. Basically, we'll hook up a GM with the next four or five players).

For the sake of simplicity and consistency, I recommend the free PFS pre-gen character (feel free to do it how you want to).look to the right of the page.

Finally, provide a link of your thread, so others can watch the progress.

We'll have more details soon, but these are the options so far.

Mike & Mark,

Is it too late, or too complicated, or too redundant, or too lame to offer suggestions for boon chronicles for this year's con season? I know we had a long list last year, though it was mostly in response to replacing race boons. Maybe you are already doing this with the VO's?

Are you open to suggestions at this time?

With 5 years of SS,there are a lot of winners and advice to read over as you prepare to enter every year. Did you reread the Top 32? I thought this might be interesting for all those people obsessed with numbers and lists wanting something to do for the next seven days. If you get it right, or if you have some other conversation starters from years past, post it here.

Question #1:
How many people have earned the title "Top 32?"

Spoiler:
155
Remember some alternates got in, bringing the number to 167. Of course Alexander McLeod (2010), Casey Smith (2009), Dan Jones (2012), Eric Hindley (2011), Eric Morton (2012), James Martin (2011), James Olchack (2012), Joel Flank (2011), Matthew Morris (2010), Sean McGowan (2011), & Tom Phillips (2011, 2012) were repeat contestants and drop the number also well.

WE DID IT!
Finally!
After 5 years, two weddings, two graduations, one conversion, twenty-some characters and over a dozen (rotating) players. We finished Savage Tide. We rotate GMs/campaigns every adventure and I went through 8 of them. I convinced my group to play when the third issue of STAP came out. But we dinnae get started until the other campaign ended, around issue 9. Only two players from the original group were in the final battle. Only one of them played the whole way through (the other getting married moved away move back etc.)

Demogorgan was a bit of a let down, it came to a slug fest at the end. This is better than the save or die that had been happening for the previous few encounters. Tarrasque of the multi-planes? One shot. Orcus death giants? Two rounds. The sorcerer got recalled to Guam (family) and the rest of party had been really dependent on him. So the shapechanged druid, arcane archer, the assassin and the whirling dervish scout, just had to trade blows with the Prince of Demons.

about the final scene

Spoiler:

Early in the fight the archer fell to the insanity gaze attack, bringing the numbers three (nulongo as a troglydyte ghast and both Demogorgans) to four (Gwynnevher lasted for two rounds more). G left and the party settled into a pattern of blow by blow. The druid (as a bone devil I think) tanked demogorgan holding him in a corner and hitting about 60% of the time. DG was only 30% successful on his full attacks, sending spells toward a different target with his other action. The blinking-ghost touch assassin took out N and was smart enough to close the door before one of the other 20 ghasts made his way in. Things started to fall apart when the phanaton scout stopped adjacent to DG (personally I think he wanted to be home early enough he could convince his wife to let him go to PFS later in the week :) . DG took the phanaton down in one round. With his attention less divided, the prince of demons started to eat through the party.

The archer finally got an ‘act normal’ and with his friendliness to DG (other gaze attack) he graciously put himself in a Ottiluke's sphere.
Two to two now. DG dispels shapechange & the druid goes down in a single round. Spring attack-sneak attacking blinking assassin left. DG Readied action for when he was is present, 50/50 chance to hit means SOMETHING will go through when you have 8 attacks a round. Fortunately the readied action did, full attack, full attack and the assassin drops.

The fight had been going on for close two 30 rounds by now, but in the last four the party lost a member each round.

I track fast healing and damage separately so I did the math. The party had DG down to 100 points or so. Any one of them could drop him on a max damage roll. We backed the game up five rounds, (through a force of his will the Prince of Demons can recreate the entire plan to fit his whimsy right). I gave DG a couple of his his heals and we started over.

The phanaton stayed out of range, DG had to split his attacks, and the dispel shapechange failed this time. The fight lasted another 5-6 rounds. Full attack on full attack on spring attack. The assassin had to step out for a round or two to heal. Considering any perfect storm attack could have ended DG. It turned out all right. After that many rounds -- and two RL game nights -- of d20’s missing/hitting we were all glad it ended.

Yeah, so many of them dumped charisma there was no way for them to claim the crown themselves.

Keelix the lonely (phanaton scout) lasted the longest, playing from level three to 22.
Teaglin (avanti cleric) was the longest living first character (even subtracting the time he moved out) playing from 1 to 3, and 7 to 18.
D'Nelo (human sorcerer) gets the points for most annyoing. maxed out caster level checks made save or die spells too much of the latter and not enough of the former. (I know, but upping critter's SR meant no one else could get near breaking through--I tried).
Minas (half-orc barbarian) gets the most damage dealt. Both in terms of his keen double falchion plus rage and power attack, and the frenzied berserker ability to fight well beyond the point when any muscle should have been connected to any bones and blood no longer had any veins to run through (300 damage and you only have 180 hp... wtf?.
TE gets the points for most characters. Something about his concepts precluded survival beyond the first encounter more often than not. (concentration to dim door out of the dragon turtles jaws... uh no points in concentration so i guess I uh provoke... :) Ironically one of them was named Phoenix Tavern.

More shout outs if later I can remember them all. :)

You have been called to the Grand Lodge of Absalom for a briefing. Seated in a small chamber around a darkwood table, various trophies gathered from across the face of Golarion hang from the walls. A monkey-shaped mask with a serpent's tongue glares out from the center of one wall, a strange halberd with gold rings piercing its thick blade and dragons carved along its haft hangs opposite the monkey mask. Fellow Pathfinders, who apparently have been here for the same purpose are seated around the table. Each begins the new assignment's opening custom and introduces themselves.

Just in case you need the cue, here is where you die.
Ooops that comes later *grin* ...err... here is where you introduce yourselves. :)
