Oooh, Good stuff! Thanks. I saw it started in early autumn according to the book, but forgot about the importance of Flood Season. Thank you. Now I just need to figure out when these things occur year-wise on the Greyhawk calendar.

To me, it all depends on when you want Flood Season to start.

Since Cauldron's environs are tropical - in my home version the economy is based on tropical slave plantations outside the city - the Flood Season is the local name for the monsoon.

Monsoons are interesting, as they happen at different times in different tropics. For West Africa and India, the wet season starts in June. For Thailand, it's more like October. For my home , it will be September, but it's an arbitrary choice based on a pre-existing timeline in my campaign.

If you want to be "authentic" to the original intent of the adventure, I'd bet it's based on Seattle weather, as Paizo and WOTC are both here, and the threat of the Howard Hanson dam potentially bursting in the winter rains was a huge issue locally for several years. Seattle's climate is long dry summers and long wet winters, with the rain typically starting in October, often with a major storm.

So make Flood Season October if you want the likely (and seemingly unstated) "original intent", otherwise chose a monsoon timing that suits you.

I think there is info about this on RPGgenius. I seem to remember reading the very same stuff but can't seem to find it anywhere.

Maybe that's where I saw it. I looked there too, but couldn't find it. Not a Greyhawk expert by any means, but we're starting our campaign this weekend and I want to make sure I'm ready. Thanks for checking for me Mage Evolving.

I found that the priest is accosted in the opening scene of the opening chapter in "late autumn". I'm sure there was more information somewhere. Seems like I saw an actual date and now I can't even find the year the adventure starts. Anyone know?

My concern with death affecting gear is that some classes will be considerably more gear dependent than others. It doesn't seem fair that a very gear dependent class will be penalized considerably more than a class that doesn't rely nearly as much on gear.

Here are the last five played when I shuffled all the songs I have on Spotify:

Rapture by Blondie
Smile by Avril Lavigne
Toy Soldiers by Martika
I Left my Wallet in El Segundo by A Tribe Called Quest
An Open Letter to NYC by the Beastie Boys

Looks like my daughter has been dragging some of her songs to my folder again.

Isn't good also about redemption and forgiveness for those that repent?

Mmm, a fun day when lawful courts prevent good from being achieved.

Don't 99% of all criminals either repent or deny guilt? If repentence was all that was required to get release, there would be no criminals, but there would be a lot more crime.
In a magical world, where Gods are real and actively involved in the activities of mortals, I expect these kinds of events operate a little differently than they do here.

That's not how I see things, but it certainly could be that way in a given campaign. I see evil as always trying to get away with their actions whatever the cost. I'm sure, regardless of time or place, an evil person is nearly always willing to "repent" and perhaps even means it. I don't see a shift from ultra Evil to Good to actually occur very often.

I can see said Evil wizard repenting - shifting his alignment to neutral and backsliding back to evil when first confronted with a moral decision.

If Charles Manson truly repented, would religious leaders attempt to break him out of jail? I see that as a Chaotic act and certainly not a Good one either.

The Paladin of the OP is no longer a Paladin if he's in my game. Naturally, I warn him of the risks when he announces what he's thinking of doing, but if he goes along with the jailbreak, welcome to fighterhood!
