Far in the north realm, the call has gone out. Adventurers wanted glory and riches await.

In this land of month long nights, some villages have been wiped out by a plague of revenants. This land has long been rich from the ancient Mithril mines. From which you are allowed to pocket what wealth you can find. As long as you kill the revenants, that threatens the region. While you are there, you should beware the great ice giants in the area as well as the cold wastes of the swamplands.

You meet and meet the other party members on the great air ship that takes you to the land of ice and snow with the midnight sun and the hot springs.

So we basically made characters and I thought, with player input, to do second darkness ... until I remembered how many eight legged critters there are and that I have a very agoraphobic player that even precludes me using or hinting of the nasty little (big) things as monsters, critters, and even window dressing.

So we will (I hope) get to begin the story... whatso ever it will be, this week. Which may cause me to have to pull stuff out of my ass. Not that I haven't before, but I prefer not to.

Thinking a frogish theme ala Wastri. the bigot deity with his bullywug slaves and Slaad as his divine messengers.

As with most things I tend to have half an idea and then can't finish it out. With the stress I've been under (for too long) I'm lost as to where to go from here. I want at least a baseline to work from. Any ideas?

Dang! Hope things get better. Soon. Your neighbors Insurance will probably cover it, but the Deductible is usually still steep.

On the plus side, wave at me when you go to New Orleans. (I used to live there), now live in Lafayette, 2 hours away from the Big Sleazy. ;P

~grins~ Oh, I will still be in Savannah. It is my wife who will be in NO for a few weeks.

Been thinking really hard about moving back home to Lafayette, Maybe Jennings.

sorry to hear about the fam. Makes me feel bad to come here and complain. Keep you guys and your families in my prayers.

Now I'm awake due to the fact that my co-worker roomie is snoring so loud and heavy I just can't fall asleep. Thankfully I don't work tomorrow and I go home Saturday. Not sure I could handle him anymore. Nice guy but he stays up later than I do. (getting too damn old) Has a horrid laugh and the snoring is wow I just wish I could properly record it for you.

I've heard quieter concerts.

Damn. I'm sorry man. But I'm glad you aren't seriously hurt. What happened?

Car in front of me made a rapid right turn, which caused me to slow and the girl behind me was speeding up, as we had just left a red light. She was distracted for a moment and then couldn't stop in time. Bam.

The Exchange

So got into a car wreck while out of town on work. It was my day off. Now I've I'm on my second of three days off to rest my back to prevent additional injuries. Sigh

I'm so damned bored. Thankfully I'm not really hurt just some muscle strain.

That was after I had mentioned to him we had discussed where he left to and asked him to pop in and say hello.

FR isnt exactly the "core" setting for 5E. It seems more that they embrace that setting a bit more than others, but the quote Ravenloft, Greyhawk, Darksun, Eberron, as well as Dragonlance throughout the books.

Meh. Hypothetically this "shouldn't need a router" (beyond the modem I was handed) by the guys at the desk.

I do have one... it just can't connect with the NEW AND IMPROVED modem I've been given.

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT: I console myself by thinking about the Guardians of the Galaxy sound track and knowing that I live in a world where that movie exists. One day, I'll even get to listen to it again!

EDIT: to be clear, I don't understand all the router/modem/etc stuff either. I only have a functioning knowledge of how to cludge a complicated system together because I've spent an excessive amount of time on the phone with various folk over the years. I've also come to the conclusion that most (though definitely not all) phone-based assistance services know slightly less than I do, with a few shining examples out there who are actually quite knowledgeable about all sorts of things, but that's just a hunch based on experience. I do have to say, it's frustrating explaining to the Call Us for Help folks why their idea doesn't apply or was already done with the last three people and then do it anyway to prove it. (That hasn't really happened much in the last four calls, but still. It used to be fairly common.)

I know, or knew, more than I want to. Been in and out. What is your questions... or info you need. If I don't know it I can find it for you.

The distance between "center of the civilized world" London and "grim oop north" Halifax is approximately the same as the distance between New York and Boston. The United States is f#!%ing huge.

There is a story I have been unable to verify about Nazi POWs being sent by train to Fort Riley during WWII. The train ride was so long the POWs though that they were being sent in circles to confuse them. They escaped and after days of travel thought that they had gotten away by crossing the border into Mexico. when in fact they had made it to the border... of Oklahoma. They were promptly sent back only then realizing just how big our country really was.

Guess they escaped on May 3rd 1945
