It's the subscription and the book. The system sees these as two different things.

This total only reflects the charge for the shipping and handling fee for the book. The bulk of the charge for the bundle was charged when immediately when you got the PDF.

Your Tome of Horrors is set to ship out with this subscription shipment.

I checked and verified that your package did go out. Sadly, it was not shipped via a trackable shipping method so I do not have any more definitive answers than that.

We are still within the estimated delivery time, though, so even if it has been delayed from the usual transit time, it will probably be showing up at any time now. We'll keep an eye out for it here, and if you still haven't seen it by the end of next week, let me know and we will get you taken care of.

Well... kinda.

If you do not want/need the Limited Edition PDF, let me know and I can return it for Paizo store credit. Several people chose to go this route, then immediately used that store credit to pay for their Unlimited Edition print/pdf bundle. Your print version just shipped out and was charged today, so it's a little late to offset the charge.

However if you want me to return the superfluous Limited Edition PDF for store credit, I'll be happy to do so, just let me know. Note that this will remove the PDF from your My Downloads page.

Ok, I've figured out what happened. This was the result of some automated behavior in our system.

When you changed the payment method on your subscription, to check the validity of the payment method, the system authorized the card using the smallest pending order attached to it. Unfortunately, the only pending order you have is the Battles Case, so this is what it the system used.

You can expect this auth to disappear on it's own, and your card should not be authed again until we actually ship something out.

There are no protections on the PDFs stopping you from printing them. They are watermarked and protected from changes, just like every other Paizo PDF, but this should not be any impediment to them being printed. While I am more than happy to accept responsibility when the responsibility is ours, I really think this must have been something on FedEx's side.

We have had reports that fedex/kinkos can sometimes be stickier about printing things than is necessary for Paizo PDFs. Usuaully this is due to the employee trying to make sure they aren't getting into sticky legal issues. It is, therefore, possible the self serve station has some manner of policy enforcing prophylactic that is preventing printing. Some customers report printing out the relevant FAQ entry helps assure fedex/kinko's employees that its okay to print them out.

Me thinks that this is a bit more than a random mis-communication with UPS. :(

Additionally, the last time this happened (order 1806012) my book was shipped via USPS rather than UPS, which I had paid extra to have done in the first place. I'm not broken up about that for the last order, but I would appreciate that not happening for this larger order.

Ok... I (well, ok... Ross...) found the bug! It appears that somewhere in the interaction between our software and the UPS software, it was choking on the "&" in your shipping address. I have edited your address and written out the word "and", & Ross is now fixing the bug so this should not affect anyone else.

I will get your order reshipped out to you, properly via UPS, as soon as possible.

Even in the circumstances where we might lose money on shipping, we do still make money from the actual product sales, so no worries there.
Ok i will make this last buy from amazon and then start to subscribe for the AP, Campaing and Companion. I hope in this way i am supporting you guys.

I think the takeaway from this whole discussion is this: You should choose the means which works the best for you. Whether that is getting stuff from Amazon, or via subscription from us, if you are purchasing Paizo products from anywhere (so long as it's not second-hand), then you are going to be supporting us in some manner. The most important thing is that you get the products you enjoy and enjoy the products you get.

If you really want to go above and beyond in support for Pathfinder, then you should check out your local Pathfinder Society chapter. Get involved and GM. If there isn't a chapter near you, then start one! :) The Society is growing by leaps and bounds right now and now is a great time to jump in and make some Pathfinder happen in your area. (/PFSadvertisement)

I'm sorry that you are not interested in the Pathfinder Beginner's Box. It was included in your subscription because a subscription is a subscription to a product line, and the Beginner's Box is a part of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game line. However, I do understand your point that you already have a bunch of Pathfinder RPG stuff.

Keep in mind, though, that I know that most of our subscribers are very pleased with the Beginner's Box. Many are planning on using the box with their experienced players as an option for a different kind of game. Others are planning on sharing the Beginner's Box. I've heard from subscribers who plan on giving it as a Christmas present to their kids, or nieces/nephews/friend's kids. I also know of subscribers who have used the Beginner's Box as a way to introduce Pathfinder to their significant others who are intimidated by the size and complexity of the Core Rulebook. So don't think of it as merely a tool for your game, but think of it as also a tool for you to bring the game to others.

This being said, of course, if you still don't want it in light of this, please return it as Erik instructed above. We want you to be happy with your subscription.

    It isn't the Beginner's Box on your order which is slowing up the rest of your order, it's the Beginner's Box in general which is just kind of complicating this entire subscription shipment, in general.

    As is the standard procedure for all subscription shipments, in order to get the entire shipment out as quickly and efficiently as possible, we try to ship all like packages in big groups. We generally try to get the big, complicated, and difficult packages out of the way first, so we can burn through the quick and easy stuff at the end (before anyone hyperventilates, please note that this is a general and incomplete description. We look at and refine this process with every shipment we do.). The Beginner's Boxes are big, heavy, and relatively fragile items that require some extra care in packaging. So we've been knocking out Beginner's Box shipments like crazy. We're also getting other packages out, but it's not unthinkable that your package with just the Beginner's Box got packed and shipped right away, while the rest of your order is still in the shipping queue.

    Rest assured, we're getting stuff packed up and shipped out as quickly as we can. You can expect the rest of your order to ship out soon.

    Good to see the Beginner Box shipping to me, but I'm a bit concerned that I never got a "Hi we'll be shipping this to you in the next few weeks." email.

    I've double checked my ISP's and email client's spam traps but no impending order email to be seen.

    Just wondering is this a special case due to the Beginner Box? Did the internets eat my email? or perhaps a glitch at your end (in which case you might want to look into it)

    As I'm here is there any ETA on the other two products in the order?

    I just checked and our records indicate that your initial email went out on "10/14/11 11:57:45 AM" (GMT -7:00).

    Now... this means that our system *thinks* that the email went out at that time. The automated process that creates and sends that email happened at that time. This is not a guarantee that the email was actually sent. We haven't (at this point) received any other reports of the email not having been sent, but I will keep an eye out.

    For now, I'm categorizing this one as "An intriguing fluke to make note of, but requiring no further action".

    The package containing the other two products is in the shipping queue and should be shipping out soon (probably tomorrow, maybe the next day).

    I have canceled your order for the Beginner's Box. As this was a subscription order, this also cancels your Pathfinder RPG subscription. You can resubscribe at any time, starting with the Bestiary 3, here.

    Canceling the Beginner's Box also cancels your subscription. However, you can now resubscribe, starting with the Bestiary 3, here.
