I will go by the honor system as far as whether your gear is with you or you have left it in your room. The same goes for whether you ditch your backpack before a fight in order to not take a movement penalty, etc.

Ok, Corran would have left his pack (and therefore his adventuring gear) along with his bow and warhammer in his room at the Rusty Dragon. I don't need to pack all my weaponry necessary for the hinterlands around town, but likewise, I don't want to be defenceless, as even Sandpoint has problems, like the Chopper and criminals. Besides, I'm training to be a soldier, so I can't just leave the armor off because its more comfortable that way, lol

"Hello, I didn't catch your name last night at the Rusty Dragon. My name is Corran. Is that a emblem of the Briez family?"

Edit: Corran got a 20 on his Gather Information check as he listened to the new rumors and gossip last night in the Rusty Dragon.

hmm... I didn't realize we were an all human party. I don't think that has happened in ages in my normal gaming group.

*And I have to buy some basic mundane equipment (ie. rations, etc) and a backup weapon (probably warhammer or mace) to my list. I'll get that done this morning

Here is Corran, our Ranger. I'll clean up the profile and add in some more minor information sometime this weekend, but everything major is done.

Question: I ended up taking Agile Shield Fighter at 1st with a normal feat. (I liked the idea of bashing people in the same round as I swung the sword, and I didn't want to wait until 2nd level.)

Would it be possible to take an alternative Combat Style other than the standard 2 Weapon or Archery in the PHB?

Dragon 326 had several different Ranger Combat Styles in the Class Acts. The one I'm thinking about specifically was called Strong-Arm Style and would give me Power Attack at 2nd level, and then Improved Sunder at 6th, Great Cleave at 11th.
